Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend (to take advantage of the $25 rewards card sent, the "additional 20% off" final sale items, or to see the additional Fall arrivals), maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the sale items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts, which by the way "thank you!" :) I really love how helpful we are for each other!

  1. It looks like the website is updated w/ more sale stuff. I got my little one a couple of tees, the seychelles necklace I keep eyeing. I also noticed the chino jacket you reviewed a few posts ago is now on final sale. Mine actually came in the mail yesterday. While I love it....it looks completely like the cord one I had already purchased (same color). Luckily I got it before final sale price so it is going back.

  2. I'm off to my BM this morning and will post what I find. I'm obsessed on line with the cashmere butterfield jacket in orange. I know it's expensive but maybe I'll just buy less to have something that terrific. :) Has anyone actually viewed it in person? Am I crazy to even consider it???

  3. Don't think I'll be going this weekend...my B&M didn't have much more added when I was there last Saturday, and now that sale is only 20% instead of 40%, the deals won't be as good anyways.

  4. I probably won't be going to a B&M this weekend, what with Hanna and all. =( I'll be living vicariously through you aficionadas and this blog. =)

pink1: Congratulations on the seychelles! Finally! How is it? What're you planning to wear with it?

ladolcevita: I've been eyeing that butterfield jacket too! It's a beauty. I haven't seen it in person though. But I would wait if it goes down; for that price (or less) you can get another jacket, like the ecole, herringbone fiona, the Andrea, the Clea or even the Pavia. The Pavia cardi is cute too!

  5. Don't even bother ordering anything over the phone or online - you'll only get shortshipped. What a ridiculous setup!

    ReplyDelete
  6. This may not be the appropriate place for this question, but when do the cashmere sweaters for men generally go on sale? The men's sale is lacking right now.

  7. Alexis-
I had this great idea pop into my head last night and thought I should ask you if you wanted to blog about it--for curiosity sake.

What if we got on here and told how many of the really old/older season items actually came from our Final Sale orders. Like for instance--I added the paper poplin rain jacket, the katie sweater, the popover blouse, the martine pink hibiscus cardigan and many more items (yes, they have just sat there with no activity other than to have items drop off cancelled) BUT for instance--the katie is still showing in stock/OPEN as is the piper seaglass blouse. I wonder if I will get these items?! Won't it be fun to post on here if I ACTUALLY get them?! I am SO curious how many of these older items really exist and how many are a figment of the websites imagination:) It would give us a guage as to how much of this stuff is just SO long gone. What do others think--sound fun??

  8. Pink1: How is that seychelles necklace in person...now that's its on sale, I may get it too.

Eddie&amp: I know it's expensive, but I'm just lovin it right now. I ordered the Pique Andrea and the Greta in white and I'm waiting for them to arrive. Wondering if they ever will. Not sure I'll keep both but want to see them in person. Sometimes I find that when I buy one thing that's really over the top but I love, instead of 4 things I like, but don't love, the overthetop item gets much more wear time because I just simply love it.
And the like items end up costing me more per wear!!!!

  9. Alexis:

Where is the flagship JC store that carries the most inventory - like most of the line plus collection? Is there such an animal?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ugh, I was shortshipped on two sale items I ordered on Wednesday, before the final sale went an extra 20% off. Luckily, I had used a free shipping code and now my order is under the minimum, but they didn't take away my free shipping.

  11. ladolcevita-

That is actually a WONDERFUL thought process. It is what many fashion advisors suggest. Buy only items that really add panache and punch to your current basics. We all tend to fall victim to overconsummerism and it is easy to forget that something you LOVE and is stunning will take you farther. Investment pieces are key--along with a few new accessories is all you need. Change up the accessories or the shirt you wear underneath, wear it with jeans, trousers, a skirt..you prob already know all this but there's my 2 cents for what it's worth:) Now..if I could only follow my own advice --me with 30 sale items sitting on HOLD:)

  12. ladolcevita-
GREAT question--prob the NY stores for sure. Also--meant to add that jacket is TDF...Enabler:)

  13. ladolcevita-
Love the buttrfield jacket but that shade of orangey red soesn't do it for me--I don't wear it well. I think you have to have a lot of color or be dark-haired. Not blonde and fair with red undertones. I think it will be a problem for many and will go down in price. The other color is GORGEOUS but I wish they would have done a gorgeous contrast strip on the front of the jacket (like the orange). You know--I noticed lots of ladies mentioning the colors for Fall and how they cannot wear them and wish they were different but people need to remember Jenna's FAVORITE COLOR is ORANGE!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am SO anxious to hear about that Andrea--I love the bright Rhubarb color as it is just different and darling with jeans or obviously any pants.
OT-Anyone ever think the model is slightly too tall for all of the J Crew clothing. I mean she is GORGEOUS but stuff doesn't fit her and it really can throw you off--like jackets look shorter on her and then people get them and they are longer than expected--the sleeves often look too short on her also. It's really a problem--I guarantee she is very tall and has long arms/torso.

  15. ?s on the Seychelles...just ordered it this morning. It disappeared from the website for a week or so & then popped back up. Yes I have been stalking it ! I did receive the DOUBLE-STRAND JEWELED-SHELL JADE BRACELET last week. I love it for $40...not sure why they were charging $125.00 for it initially. The clasp is pretty though. I like to layer tons of fun bracelets and I love this one.

Will let you know about the Seychelles when I get it!

    ReplyDelete
  16. OT: Have any of you tried/seen the Addison city-fit cotton/linen trousers? Do they fit true to size? There's no BM near me so I can't try them on for size. I've been shopping for basics like tees and cardigans which J Crew really does well. When I find something I like, I buy multiples which my husband thinks is strange.

  17. I got the silver soiree yesterday w/ my gift card. I LOVE it!!!

  18. I don't know if i will go. With Hanna coming and they are hoping the subways don't flood. I do want to return the merino V neck I got 3 months ago. I bought both the small and the xs. THe xs is just a little too tight in the sleeves and the small looked like a sack. So while the small already went back I think it is time for the xs to already go back. If the weather doesnt get too bad this afternoon I will probably go but I do want to hit the gym first.

Did I hear that cashmere v-necks were on promotion?

We are in the predicted lull now but the clouds are getting mighty dark. I am very excited that we are actually getting a big storm here. Living in Boston we always got big storms and I really liked them. Growing up in NYC it was a once a year thing, if that often... So yay big storm.

  19. ladolcevita, I love that sweater, too, but am hesitant to order. The grey color looks like it would be very versatile for the fall months.

I might consider ordering it before final sale though so you're not stuck with it if you end up not liking it.

  20. FFM:

Thanks for the polyvore outfits for the cloque pencil skirt! I love the idea of neutral colored suede boots and gold accessories.
Jcrew has some great pencil skirts this Fall.

  21. ladolcevita,
I say go for the butterfield jacket. Last year I decided not to wait for the azalea bella to go on sale, and was so happy I got it right away. I wore it to Paris when I went last September, wore it all the time last fall and into early winter, in fact. Sometimes buying full price totally makes sense - and I agree with others who've pointed out, as you did, too: Sometimes buying one thing that you really love makes more sense than buying four things you just like :-)
Oh, and I really like your moniker :-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. ladolcevita, the blogger at the other J.Crew blog wrote about this jacket. I just posted a comment asking some questions about the fit. I really want it! I am just trying to justify the price tag now.

la belle helene, I have the pink Bella jacket, too. It's so pretty and I always get compliments when I wear it. The color is great with jeans and works with black pants, too. I can't wait to start wearing it again this year.

  24. heather,
the azalea bella has a source of great delight for me :-) I love the design of the jacket itself, and then the azalea color is just divine. I find it's light enough to wear just with a t-shirt in early fall, and then with a long-sleeved sweater through fall and into early winter. As far as return on investment, it's been 100% worth it.

  25. Has anyone seen or do you own the Luxe stretch cotton blazer? It's on sale for $49.99 and looks like it could be a good fall blazer (in black) to wear w/jeans and t-necks on the weekends. Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. the thread about the azalea bella reminded me how much I love these jackets, and how much I regret not getting a tweed one. any chance we can start up a 'bring back the bella' petition for jcrew? are they responsive to these sorts of things?

  27. Someone posted that the cashmere Ts were on "secret sale" for $99 at the B&M. I would love to hear if this is true, as I am going to the big city to teach a class and will probably arrange a side trip to a B&M.

    TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  28. anon @ 9:56: I have the Andrea in Honey Glaze. Unfortunately it is too warm to wear it right now or I would have it on this minute...I love it that much! :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. FFM: Thank you for the Polyvore sets you did for me. I love them, and think that you should be hired by J Crew immediately if not sooner! :)

  30. Hex-Downtown seattle had the sale 2 weeks ago, so I don't know if it would still be on. I'd call and ask before you make the trip. If you decide to stop, will you let me know if you see any good sale items? I have to return a few things but I can't decide if I should wait till the end of the month to drive out there. Seems like they have better prices right before the new shipments come in

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks Shannee--I have to make the trip for work anyway, so I will almost certainly take a detour to Pacific Place. Also, I'm out of my stationary so have to go to Crane's :-)

I will post here later this week and I can also e-mail you directly.

  32. RE: Addison trousers, I have these and as they are wide leg I got a smaller size than I usually do. I bought the greeny gray color and I love them for casual weekend wear. If you are between sizes, I suggest going down.

RE: The Luxe stretch cotton blazer, I have this as well and really like it--I got the khaki color. I would have gotten the navy (which is my fave color) but a friend told me I looked like a flight attendant so I got the more neutral khaki instead. I really like it, can even put a belt around and like the look. If you are tall, its slightly short but I think I wouldn't say its "cropped" or "shrunken".

    Hope this helps!

  33. Any chance they have an azalea Bella jacket at the FS?

  34. Just got back from my b&m in Charleston, SC, and thought I'd report on what I saw. First, Hexicon, the cashmere tees are on sale for 99.99 - no sign posted, but that's what my sa told me. They had 2 paintbrush belles left, size 2 and 8, still regular price. Final sale items (and 20% off): cord skirts in rhubarb and gray, 54.99; dream tie cardigans, couple of silver, couple of rhubarb, more of honey glaze, and lots of navy, 69.99; lots of rhubarb bells, didn't check price; tons of luxe knit gathered tee in deep peacock, 39.99; tons of luxe knit star pleated tee in deep peacock, 39.99; jackie cardigan in regal purple, smalls and 2 large, 39.99; lots of ruffle henley tissue tee in white and bright blue, didn't check price. A few other odds and ends, some of the cord jackets, some tees, some jeans... If you call, ask for Billy - he's a wonderful sa. Christine is the manager working today.

I originally went down to pick up my floral belle and someone had sold it. So, Billy called around until he found one for me. He said Madison, in NY, isn't a big store but they have a huge stock room, and that's where he found it. Hopefully, it will arrive next week. I also bought the tie cardigan in navy and a tank to wear under it. I debated having him order the cashmere argyle vest, but since I haven't tried it on and it's final sale, I didn't. I think $80 (plus shipping) is too much for me to gamble on. If it gets down to under $50, then I'll give it a try.

Sorry for the long post, I was just trying to mention the items that they had a lot of or that I knew were popular.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I just want to vent at how frustrated I am with the JC website. It's been long enough and their stock is constantly changing and updating that the website isn't accurate. I've had three orders canceled! I am totally avoiding it for a while until they get things straightened out. All I want at this point is an Academy or Schoolgirl Cardigan or in S or XS!!

Math Teacher - the cashmere argyle vest is fantastic. I actually bought one at original price about a month ago (something I rarely do), I love it so much. It seems to fit a bit big, so if you're between sizes, I'd maybe go smaller.

    ReplyDelete
  36. mathteacher: Did your SA mention anything about the new October stock coming in? I have noticed that JC is clearing out alot of items, just wondering if it is because of the slow economy or they are making way for more new things?

Sorry to hear about the Belle, I hope they are giving you a discount on the new one for selling it?

    ReplyDelete
  37. casual crew: He told me that they were getting the new items on the 24th, so I would assume all stores would get them around then. They did have a few new items since I was in Monday, like the cashmere argyle v-neck sweater. And, no extra discount on the skirt aside from my teacher discount. As long as I don't pay shipping (and I shouldn't since it's full price) and I actually GET the item, I'm happy. He, however, was not happy with the other sa that told me they would hold it without paying for it and told me several times to never do that again. If the sa argues with me about it, then I'm to ask for a manager.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, my goodness! I just got off the phone with a wonderful cs (Jennifer). I had called to ask about a price adjustment on the jackie cardigan, and she got to looking at the order and noticed that when it was placed, it was placed as a "ship at no cost to the purchaser." So, she checked with her supervisor and that's how they're going to let it stand! So, no need for the price adjustment. I offered to pay and she said no, her supervisor told her to tell me "Merry Christmas." And, I should have it no later than the end of next week. I guess spending an hour on the phone in the b&m on Monday, and having my tunic lost turned out to be worth it. Thanks, Jennifer and your supervisor. :P

    ReplyDelete
  39. I heard from my b&m that new items are coming on the 12th of this month. (But who knows if it'll be a full roll out or just a couple of new basics.)

  43. Has anyone ordered with the free shipping/one year of Cookie magazine--PENCILS code? How does it work getting the magazine...at least it is something...if it works:) THanks for any info.

  44. mathteacher: Isn't nice to hit a great CS, after all the problems and headaches with the downgrade. Makes me kinda hopeful that things will go back to the way they were before the computer upgrade.

    ReplyDelete
  45. sos: every store associate who's helped me in the Charleston, SC, b&m has been great.

casual crew: I know. I wish I could talk to Jennifer every time! I don't think it's always the cs who is the problem; JC has ever-changing policies, not to mention the problems they're still having. Even Billy, my sa, mentioned that they're still happening.

    ReplyDelete
  46. mathteacher: There also have been new CS that have just started in the last month or two, maybe that is the reason why they are so strict with coupons etc.

    ReplyDelete
  47. math teacher: congrats on the dream tie! There really wasn't a bad choice between that sweater and the argyle vest. Hopefully you'll be able to find a vest later too!

And congrats on the gratis jackie!

I have a question - anyone have any ideas when the kelsey tank sweater dress will go on sale? I really like it, and feel like it's been around for awhile, in stores and online, but it's not getting marked down...

    ReplyDelete
  48. kater: I actually talked to my sa about calling your store, but the idea of final sale worries me. I hope they mark them down and still have my size. While the wheat is my favorite, I do like the silver as well. And, maybe if the price does go down, someone here will help me find it. :) Just like you did. :P Have things settled down there yet, weather-wise? It's so pretty today that it's hard to believe that yesterday happened!

    ReplyDelete
  49. math teacher: they also had lots of silver, so hopefully you'll be able to get one or the other! I've been going into various stores a lot lately because of commuting for school, so I will definitely keep my eye on it for you!

you're so kind to ask about our weather - it's pretty stormy but we haven't had any tornado danger or power outages so far. The rain is coming down in buckets though! The DF and I are just camped out inside for the day!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I went to a B&M Friday after work to return a few things. I ordered a few more jersey tanks from the red phone ($12 each!). I couldn't get free shipping, though because not full priced items. I added a tartine cardigan I wanted, and they wouldn't let me use the FALL discount on that, but I fought for it. I am sick of not being able to use the student discount AND a promotion. I don not consider the student discount a promotion. As this becomes more strict, I will be shopping at J. Crew less. The prices are getting too high and the website, etc are not making up for the high prices!

    ReplyDelete
  51. kater: I'm glad you're just dealing with rain. And, I understand about the camping out. That's what we did last yesterday. I don't understand why people want to be out in that kind of weather. And, thanks for being willing to keep an eye on the vests. I have only one b&m here, and it's downtown so I only get there once a month, maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sorry ladies--gotta vent again..I ordered 14 items on Aug 28th--I have watched them slip away each day a few at a time. I am now down to 3 items left and they are 2 jackies (of course not sale so safe there) and the martine sale cardigan. Pretty sure the xs martine will go bye-bye too as it did already in the small I have on another order. This website is a BIG FAT JOKE WASTE OF OUR TIME!!! They don't have ANY sale items even from orders placed 9 days ago!! I feel for all those people that got on when the 20% off email came up--esp those not familiar with JCREW to the extent we are. They are gonna think the company SUCKS when everything they order is cancelled! I am REALLY MAD they would send that out when they don't have MOST of it!!
Thanks for listening...I am just BUMMED:(

    ReplyDelete
  53. I went to my BM (San Diego Fashion Valley) for a specific purpose: I tried on one of the bracelets for size (I'm interested in the double-strand Sanibel shell one).
In terms of sizing and sale stuff, it looked smallish but I didn't have a sharp eye because I was focused on jewelry.
They had a few pairs of shoes -- mainly jelly ballet slippers in small sizes.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Well we were going to go today and then we go to the subway stop near my house and it isnt making local stops. It is raining so hard that we gave up, turned around and came home. Maybe tomorrow. Its gross out there.

    ReplyDelete
  55. So, I visited my J.Crew and what was 40% off sale, was changed to 20% off sale. It was quite disappointing. And I didn't really find much. But boy am I excited for the new fall clothes!

    ReplyDelete
  56. blumre - I returned 2 of my merino v-necks also. Just changed my mind about colors. Got some other stuff on the final sale promo. Good for you to go to the gym. Cashmere was on secret sale in Walnut Creek, CA today. I didn't get into specifics about crewneck or vneck, but the price was $99.

Hex - I *do* recall seeing signage that the cashmere tee was $99. Not sure what cashmere items were 'secret.'

Anonymous @ 2:30 PM - I have heard of someone receiving the Cookie magazine and enjoying it.

Anonymous @ 3:53 PM - I can't believe you ordered 14 things and are only going to receive 3 -- if lucky. Wow. I would be totally upset as well.

I was in Walnut Creek, CA and saw the dream tie cardigan for $69.99 + 20%. That's all I can think of right now. Most of it was the same old that we've seen. I know one of the high heel flares are on sale. The lighter shade of blue. Nothing else too exciting. Sorry aficionadas. I was distracted by the dream tie and got it in honey glaze.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I drove an hour to go shopping at the nearest mall w/J. Crew, and didn't have a good experience. They had an in-store promo on men's sweater vests for $39.50 (there was a sign). When I picked out the sweater vest I wanted (grey, w/buttons and pockets) they told me, "that sweater vest isn't part of the promotion." I've worked retail in the past (for years as management) and I know how to read signs. There wasn't anything about those not being on sale, they were within the price range specified. Just gave me a bad taste in my mouth and I didn't buy anything!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Does anyone know whether the dream tie was offered in B&M stores in colors that weren't in the catalog?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Not sure, but the Tulip coat is offered in purple in stores. That color is not available online.

    ReplyDelete
  60. hexicon: I didn't see any colors in my store that weren't also offered online - navy, silver, rhubarb, and honey glaze.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I want to visit J. Crew this weekend. I am interested in seeing if there is anything new.

I wondering about the availability of J. Crew Collection in stores. I find only a few pieces at my b&m and was wondering if the bulk of the Collection was exclusive to online. I would like to see a few of the items first hand and check for sizing without having to invest in ordering online, returning, etc.

I think someone may have asked this before.... Are there particular locations that have a large and diverse selection?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I feel like I'm missing out on a huge piece. What does "B&M" mean?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hi Whitney - B&M in the retail and construction industies stands for brick and mortar.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thanks Gigiofca: I might totally hit it up tomorrow.

P.S. Why are all of this season's sweater so baggy? Did I ask that already? I may have... i am still brewing over it :(

    ReplyDelete
  65. cleo26: I don't know if there's a way to tell online which stores offer the collection. My store in Charlreston, SC, carries some of the collection pieces. You could call and see if they can tell you if any of your local stores carry collection pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Whitney,

"B & M" means brick and mortar. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  67. JCrew in Scottsdale had LOTS of the honey glaze Ecole tweed blazers for $159.99 plus 20% off. I was waffling on this...there are so many Ecoles I don't want to necessarily cave in at this price point, and don't wear blazers a lot. However, maybe this is one of those staples I should add to my wardrobe...thoughts?

Also had 20% off final sale items (boo!), lots of tshirts, and 25% off Fionas. Also 25% off velvet Ecoles and the cord skirts in rhubarb, gray, and honey glaze for $54.99 plus 20% off.

Nothing new, same old same old. What do to about the honey glaze tweed Ecole?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thanks, math teacher!

I'd really love to see the studio ball skirt and the belle skirts for sizing.

    ReplyDelete
  69. anon @ 8:58: I don't think the Ecole has been as popular as the crew expected. So I bet you could hold off even longer for the price to drop some more. I'd guess that once the new October roll-out happens, it'll get marked down further. I bet you'll still have your choice of color and size too. JMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  70. OT: But has anyone noticed that the appearance of some colors online is very different than in real life. I ordered the Jewel Button Cardigan in Silver Camel and it was much darker than pictured online and even in the catalog. I was a bit shocked by the color difference, although the sweater is really cute and I do like it. It was more of a dark grey/heather trim combo, than the light greyish-silver w/cream trim combo that is pictured. Just wondered if anyone else had had the same experience with other items lately.

    ReplyDelete
  71. cleo26: I found the belle to be close to tts. But if you're between sizes, I would size down. I did this and the smaller size fits great. Also, it's a bit voluminous so you wouldn't want to add anymore bulk than necessary. That being said, I think it's so flattering and looks great on most body types. My mom and I have different figures but we both *love* this skirt. She bought 2 (floral and buttercup) and I bought 2 (floral and sketchbook). Also, molly has blogged about the studio skirt here . Hope this helps!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thank you, weab! :) This definitely helps.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I didin't think the ecoles are doing as well...although the honey glaze in P0 is already completely sold out, with no waiting list or any sort of thing...!

Lynzeeroo: Don't feel bad about not being able to get the academy cardigan...I have it, and it doesn't resemble the fit on the model. The stitch is on the thicker side, and it's longer than what was shown on the model. I got it at a really good price, so I still kept it, but wouldn't feel bad had I passed on it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. i went there this weekend and a lady in the store was talking about how all the jewelry and hair accessories were 60% off...i of course picked up a bunch before the cashier told me she was an employee using her employee discount. i was so disappointed i had to put everything back :(

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anonymous at 9:33 AM: That is a great blog post idea. Just to make sure I got it, the post would be about how many older final sale items actually get mailed to us? (Let me know if I have the idea- if so I will go ahead and make it into a post.) :)

LaDolceVita: I am not sure if J.Crew has a flagship store. :) But if I had to pick one, I would say the Manhattan/Midtown East (30 Rockefeller Plz) store. I know that Madewell's flagship store is in SoHo (NYC).

Pink1: I hope you get your Seychelles necklace! ;)

Math teacher: Congrats on the purchases!!! :) Also, I am thrilled to hear you had a great CS experience- I love those stories! :)

Anonymous at 3:53 PM: I am really sorry to hear about your orders. :(

Anonymous at 8:11 PM: I am sorry to hear that when you selected the vest, it was not part of the sale. I hate it when items look like they are on sale, when in fact they are not. (It gets my hopes up unnecessarily).

Cleo: I think the the Manhattan/Midtown East (30 Rockefeller Plz in NYC) store has a large & diverse selection. Also, the store has a lot of customers (since it is in a very touristy spot- and I am usually one of them as I always stop at that store when I am in the city.) :)

Whitney: B&M stands for brick and mortar stores. :)

  76. math teacher (and anyone else that noticed): Did you notice if the cashmere t's that were on sale from the current color selection or old ones? I just wonder if the heather vine is on sale? TIA!

  77. Reporting back from the South Windsor, CT store, the following is what I remember (which I would call the store to double check):
    - Overall: the stock was okay; final sale items were an additional 20% off from the prices listed below
    - There were lots of Ecole (velvet & Herringbone) on sale.
    - There were several Flowy jersey bateau dress (in dark slate and fresh strawberry)
    - They had the jewel buckle silk belts (gorgeous by the way!) on sale for $29.99
    - They had two Martinique jackets (I believe size 8 and 10, but not sure) for $39.99
    - They had lots of high heel flare denim for $79.99
    - They had lots of Julianne dresses in all different colors (and patterns too!)
-There were a couple of Solid Kayla blouses in size 6 & 8 for $29.99
-There were tons of Marcella blouses in every shade and size practically (for $69 I believe)
-Lots of Wool tweed newsboy caps for $29.99
-They had lots of Polka-dot airy knotted blouse (in dark cloud & deep atlantic)
-There were lots of Swiss-dot Annette blouse (in all sizes) for the yellow version at $59.99

  79. blumre - I haven't paid too much attention to this season's sweaters but they don't seem baggy to me. I guess the slouchy cardigan is in. That's a bag. This bateau sweater from Banana Republic is so cute on! I got it in creme and black. They call it a top, but it's more like a sweater/top in my book. Item # #588264 if my link doesn't work.

  80. blumre: I had the same issue with the merino v-necks. I liked the color I chose, but finally just returned it because it fit so awkwardly.

I think I will go to mine this weekend, I'm curious to see if any new items were added to final sale.

  81. weab: Although my store didn't have all the colors available online, the ones on sale for 99 are the colors listed in the regular womens site. I don't know if some of those are newer than others; I don't follow the cashmere sweaters that closely. Hope that answered your question. :)

  82. math teacher: Thanks for the info! I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. Thanks again!

  83. ALEXIS-
With regard to the old sale items--you got it rght. People list items they actually recv'd from the SALE section over the last say..couple weeks. I am wondering if ANYONE got the shot-in-the-dark items they were just hopeful about:)
I have bad feeling that MOST of that stuff has been cancelled from people's orders. But if you got something DO SHARE:)

  84. I received a Martine sweater last week that I'd ordered at 40% of sale in early August. J.Crew never emailed to say that it was cancelled, but when I called on a *different* lost order I was also told that Martine had been cancelled for lack of inventory.

Yet a few weeks later I received an e-mail saying that it had shipped, and then it arrived. Unfortunately I'd already spent the money on something else :-)

  85. on the older sale items: I tried to order the black San Telmo jacket a while back and it was cancelled. Then the CS agent said they'd try to reinstate the order, since the jacket still appeared on the web site. They later said the jackets were totally sold out, but they appeared on the web site. So. . . I tried once more. My order status says it shipped, and UPS has a package, but we'll see. I also ordered some tights.

  86. anon: I ordered three sweaters that I saw online from LAST fall/winter - and they all came! I guess I was lucky =)

  87. Just wanted to share - the Tyson's Corner location has an additional 25% off final sale items. The outlet store in Leesburg has 40% off suiting - I picked up a three-button blazer & city-fit (fully lined) pants in the navy pinstripe stretch suiting for $150 :)

  88. Anon at 12:02PM: Congrats on the San Telmo! It sounds like you will be receiving it after all- that is fantastic!!! :) (I have that version as well and really do love it!)

  89. I was able to get a dream tie cardigan in heather silver and the cord skirt in faded cement with the additional 20%, and my student discount. Woohoo! The SA was amazed at how quickly some of the fall items ended up in the final sale, especially because it's among a lot of summer stuff they just can't seem to get rid of. They should've increased the % off on the summer merch and had the fall stuff at 20% off. Anyway, I would've liked to get a kelly green and purple Jackie, but my store didn't have any, and I didn't really want to pay $10 shipping on them. Priority Mail is only $4.75 or so!

Now that I think about it, aren't discounts so not "high-end/luxe"? Wonder if their MO is to eventually do away with discounting merchandise altogether.

  90. Just came back from my store, and I'm so shocked to see that the donegal ecole and the red and brown ecole are on sale already plus the extra 20% discount! Also the marcella blouse was on sale plus the 20% discount. Are we expecting more fall items in the stores? Looks like everything will be marked down pretty soon!

  91. the red and brown velvet ecole, I meant above...

  92. I purchased the cashmere butterfield jacket in gray and it arrived few days ago. It was expensive but I somehow justified buying it now. It came in a gift box with a garmet bag and a pouch of scented moth balls - I thought it was a nice touch. When I first took it out of the box I thought it would be way too small for me (size S) but when I put it on, it fit great. I like everything about it: the lenght, buttons, color, trim, and how soft it feels without loosing its shape. The only thing I am concerned about is the belt on the back. It has two buttons and even though they are light, they pull down on the sides of the sweater. I am thinking about removing them. Overall it is a great piece and I am seriously considering buing the orange one as well. With the second one I'll wait until it goes on sale :)

Also, I got the metallic herringbone clea jacket and to my surprise there is nothing metallic in it. It is made of rather bright red-orange boucle mixed with off-white wool (the red-orange boucle looks almost like the one used in the orange lucille jacket). The herringbone clea is short but has quite long sleeves. It is also a bit itchy but overall I like it. I am keeping it.

  93. I visited a J.Crew outlet store for the first time today. Most of the stuff was really crappy quality. Basically regular j.crew designs made with much cheaper fabrics and less shape-holding construction. I am surprised J.Crew bothers to manufacture separate (crappy) stuff for their outlet stores...it kind of weakens the brand IMHO. They should just send their markdowns to the outlet stores after they have not sold for a period of time.
