  1. $14.99 is that for certain colors? Man are we ripped off buying from the website! (I don't have a store close to me)

  2. I just got 3 pairs! I called and CS priced matched it. Sweet deal, thanks for the posting.

  3. Which colors are available @ 14.99?

  4. They have a ton of the matchstick cords in Rockaway, NJ--yellow and green, mostly, and because I'd never showcase my enlarging bottom in either color (I could probably land planes with my arse if it were encased in bright yellow) I didn't check the price. But sale merchandise there is an additional 50% off, so it might pay interested shoppers to give the Rockaway location a call.

  5. Any cords for guys on sale for that cheap? :(

  6. I'll bet that super bright pink color is on sale -- it is VERY BRIGHT!

  7. I just called my J Crew store and they were ringing up for 14.99 on Tuesday but are now back to full price. (Sigh)

  8. Double post, just to make sure all see:

Wow - it worked. I called in from home and asked for the 50% off being offered at the Rockaway store in New Jersey. I had to call like 4 times, each conversation beginning with "Will you honor the 50% off at this store, even on items not in the store?" I got the Andrea jacket for $80 and 2 Tartine cardigans for $34 each! The inconsistency is amazing, and it feels akward hunting for the bargains, but if they're out there...it's hard not to. I'm not used to shopping this way :) Hopefully this will work for you, too - just be persistent!

  9. OT - but.....in my bm today the sa told me that the new roll out would be in store oct 13....yeah!!!!!

  10. Shannon: Rockaway NJ seems to be the store that usually has the 50% off sale. :)

Argyle: Congratulations on your great deals! What color of the Andrea did you get?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Unfortunately, I don't think this sale is occurring in all stores. I made an excited call to the Copley J.Crew store in Boston, and the matchstick cords in bright rhubarb, orange, and green were on sale for $49.99 with an additional 20% off, as opposed to $14.99. :(

  12. argyle: congrats on the good buys! You have more patience than I do, I would have given up long before you found a cs to cooperate. :)

  13. FFM, I got the Rhubarb - I love the honey color, but look horrible in yellows!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Argyle: The Rhubarb is SO pretty, and I completely understand about the whole *yellow* issue...I normally don't do well with them, either...but the Honey Glaze actually works for me...go figure. No matter the color, though, I think you will really like the Andrea, especially at that FAB price!:)

  15. Argyle,
You lucky girl! No such windfall on this end. The CSR said she they are getting swamped with calls about the Andrea but she could not apply the 50 percent. Argh,:[
A true bargain, wear it in good spirits!

  16. OT-
    I absolutely must share!!!
I came home today to a nice little surprise from J Crew. Totally unexpected.
I wonder how many other people have recieved it and more importantly, what did they receive?

    Details are here .
I am dying to know what everyone else got.

  17. has anyone seen Lydia blouse on sale anywhere? looking for xs in white.

  18. After the 1/2 hour conversation--it's a no go. I believe they have caught on so good luck to those that still try. They call the store *as a courtesy* and then ask about each and every item. They have to have it in store, in your size or no go. I had a list of 15 items and they had 2 but after you added in shipping--they were the least favorite items so no go. They still would have made a killing off me if they honored it! Their loss:( My wallet's gain! :)

  20. OK, I totally forgot (my mother is in the hosptial and I have had that weighing heavily on my mind) that I too had received a heavy box from J Crew. I am going to go check and then let you know what I find. :)

  21. Slastena: That is wonderful news! I just made it into its own post here: J.Crew Cardmembers: Get Something Extra In the Mail? :). Congrats again!!! :)

  22. Slastena, Wow! What a nice surprise! I hope you enjoy it- and thanks for sharing.

  24. jcrewjunkie: I recall you saying about a month or so ago that you mom was not well. I am really sorry and hope that she makes a speedy and complete recovery. I will keep your family in my prayers.

  26. OMG...I too received the Glass Bead Ribbon Necklace in Fog! It is really very pretty, and now I simply MUST buy something to go with it! LOL. Since I received this at only one of my accounts (the one on which I spend whopping amounts of money) I am assuming that it was sent to people who reached a predetermined amount. Yikes!!

  27. I know that this is so off topic, but I just want all of you to know that I do so appreciate you friendship, kindness and concern. On Friday mom was baking cupcakes for my younger son and by simply turning the wrong way she snapped her femur to the point that it nearly came through the skin (osteoperosis). The horrible part is that she sat for TWO HOURS waiting for someone to find her (which my younger son finally did after he came in from playing at a friend's house) because she couldn't get to the phone. I know that there will be people who don't think that I should write about this on a J Crew blog, but knowing that there are people who care really means SO MUCH to me at this point. Again, thanks to all of you. I think that there are so many special and wonderful people on this blog. :)

  28. slastena: Hey, cool about the necklace! When I saw it online, I thought it looked great - a sort of dainty, beaded necklace. I saw it in the store on my way out and it looked much heavier than what I was expecting. How do you like wearing it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. jcrewjunkie: Ohmygosh!! That is terrible for your mom. I hope she ahs a speedy recovery.

  30. jcrewjunkie: don't worry about what the negative posters have to say! I truly hope your mom has a speedy recovery! How long will she be in the hospital?

  31. Jcrewjunkie, What a heartbreaking story. My mom has osteoperosis too. How helpless she must have felt waiting for someone to come home. I am so sorry.

  32. jcrewjunkie: I echo everyone's comments in that I hope your mom has a speedy recovery. :)

  34. Oh jcrewjunkie! I'm so sorry about your mom. You and she are in my thoughts. Best wishes for her full and speedy recovery and your strength to help her get through it.

Are you referring to the 'bubble gum' pink matchstick cord? I saw it in my store 2 weeks ago and my SA said it was suppose to be part of the new collection. It is unusual to see bright pink during christmas.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. jcrewjunkie: you and your mom are in my prayers. I'm wishing her the speediest of recoveries.

Congrats on your necklace!! I would love to get a surprise (especially since I spend a BOAT LOAD on my JC cc), but I'm not holding my breath. I didn't get a "bonus" card last month either...oh well...a girl can dream....

  37. FFM: I think that mom will be in the hospital for at least 10 more days and possibly longer especially since she lives alone. Not to make all of this sound melodramatic, but 3 years ago she broke her hip (on the opposite side...again due to poor bone quality) and 3 months after that my dad died of Parkinson's Disease so her emotional state is fragile as well. HOWEVER, she is still very active so they are trying a new drug (an IV that is given one time a year for 15 minutes that is supposed to dramatically improve bone quality) and really hitting the rehab hard so that she can maintain the activity level that she had prior to the break. Whew!

  38. Walnut Creek, CA is expecting a huge new shipment on Wed. Not sure if all items will be out by Thu day. I expect downtown SF is getting a shipment as well since they are a high traffic store.

nycmom - saw the Lydia blouse in XS in rhubarb in Walnut Creek tonite. They also had the orange color on sale. Didn't look at sizes but they had a few of them in that color.

covert5 - that just sucks. CS reps seem to be luck of the draw for sure.

Congrats to slastena and others who got the necklace! I am not a JC cardholder, so guess I won't be getting one. Very classy move on the part of JC.

  39. jcrewjunkie -- Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope her spirit and mind heal first. Then the rest is much easier. I also vaguely heard about the once/year bone fortifier. The less pills older ones have to take the better.

  40. BTW Gigi-
The Houndstooth Boucle Clea Jacket in your signature is on sale now if you don't already own it or know it:)

  41. covert5 - Thanks for the tip. :-) I love the green one.

Speaking of coats -- I saw the most beautiful new coat today in Walnut Creek. It is $325 and I think the style number is 99701. I'm doing the number from memory. I'm sure about the price, though. It's a darker camel, funnel neck, 4 or 5 buttons down the front and there is a tie at the neck. Think of the tie on the serge or the tie on the giraffe coat, but not as wide. You can't really tie it into a bow tie. I'm a 4 and tried in on in a 4. It's TTS, imo. Just gorgeous. I didn't ask the name of it or anything for fear it would come home with me. I own enough coats in camel. Although this one *is* a darker camel. Or lighter tan. Take your pick. Oh -- and it's to the knee or just above, I think - depending on your height.

So sorry to hear about your mother's suffering, and yours. Hopefully that IV infusion will be helpful. I wish you both luck.

  45. Covert5:
you have asked about Florentine capris earlier. I find them TTS. As a amtter of fact, I think J Crew capris are the best fitting pants on Earth.
I have yellow ones, Florenitne print, last year cord and velvet ones, as well as couple of funky prints from JC Factory store.
If you are considering them, they are very flattering and print is unique.

I saw the coat you have described today at Tyson's store. It is very pretty and soft. I really liked it.
