What's Happening At J.Crew Stores This Week! :)

There seems to be a lot of *great* things happening at J.Crew stores across the country this week! :)

"Thanks!" to Marietta (in this post from last week) who shared with us the following news: "My SA at the store told me that next week they are having a special in store - if you make an appointment with a SA, your entire order is 25% off. I asked if I could use the 25% off card on top of that, and they said no. But, for those that did not receive a 25% off card, this is a great opportunity to save."

"Thanks!" to leogrl6787 (in this post) who let us know that her local store in the Baltimore, Maryland area will be having a holiday party this Tuesday (from 6-10PM) "where shoppers get 25% off in addition to any sale or promo".

"Thanks!" to SanFranciscoCA (in this post) who shared with us the following: "A SA at my local B&M store invited me to a private event next Wednesday. They are receiving new items and I also get a $10 gift card for each $100 spent".

"Thanks!" to Anon at 4:59 PM (in this post) who shared with us an email from her SA at the Dallas Galleria store: "It's that time again for new merchandise! Come in and shop December 9th from 12pm to 6pm and get first pick at the new goods! Check out our "gift guru" and the wish lists we have in store to make for yourself or family and friends. Also, be on the lookout for a special discount card from our CEO Mickey Drexler. Hope to see you there!"

"Thanks!" to Ameilia (in this post) who let us know J.Crew stores are expecting new arrivals on Thursday and that we might "see more markdowns as early as Tuesday".

So chances are your local J.Crew store is expecting new arrivals this week too. :) Your local store might be offering something special (e.g. sneak peek, extra discount) as well!

Are you planning to visit J.Crew this week to check out the new arrivals? Do you know if your store is offering something special (e.g. sneak peek, new promotion)? If so, please share! :)

  1. Time to pry open your wallets & purchase everything in sight. By the way, the new arrivals will mostly be fallwear, if not exclusively fallwear. The SA at the Rockefeller store told me that they're done with sweaters & coats. Oh, & the new arrivals come on Tuesday for my store.

  2. jeff, do you mean spring wear?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oops, yeah I meant Spring wear. haha. Everyone should be seeing shorts at their local J. Crews soon.

    TY Anon.

  4. has anyone tried to return a full-priced item in store without the online shipping invoice? is it a hassle? I did receive mine but I can't find it and unfortunately didn't think to get a 'gift receipt' online (not sure if they even do that when you ship to one address?)

    thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  5. and the full priced item is now on sale, of course... tia

    ReplyDelete
  6. if you bought it online, if you know the order number etc, they'll find it without the receipt and credit you back..as long as it hasn't been 60 days...this has been my experience so far..

    ReplyDelete
  7. Your order information should still appear in your account if it's under 60 days. You can print it out and bring it to the store, and it should be enough.

  8. suilove and mary - thanks so much, that is a relief! ; )

  9. Thanks for the information everyone! I plan to head out to my J.Crew later on this week...hope they have some of the new merchandise then. :)

  10. I am still dealing with my 11/25 order. They have lost it but of course charged me. Anyone else still having issues with TURKEY?

    ReplyDelete
  11. anon 5:36 - Is CS waiting a certain amount of days before they refund you? If this is the case it is better to wait it out. They lost my parcel and promptly refunded me and then my parcels showed up, and it was a pain to get it all sorted out.

    ReplyDelete
  12. They are saying that they think my package is sitting in the warehouse somewhere, I just want my order and while I am waiting things that I ordered are selling out. When you recieved yours did you have a tracking number?

    ReplyDelete
  13. anon 6:00 - I had tracking # on the enveloppes but JC shipping dept did not scanned them when they loaded them onto the truck.
The supervisor was able to determine that they were physically loaded onto the truck though, have you spoken to a Supervisor? At this stage I would not accept the story that they are still sitting in the warehouse waiting to be shipped.

  14. I love the Resort stuff even though I am months away from wearing it, and I have no plans to go somewear warm. I really like the cotton sweaters that are on-line the Henley sweater I have already ordered, and I am eyeing the short sleeved cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anon:605
Yes I have spoken to several supervisors and they all give me different answers. They are supposed to refund my money today and then re-order, although I do not believe them. They are such a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  16. anon 6:05 did you have a tracking number posted on JC website? becuase I don't says n/a

    ReplyDelete
  17. anon 6:22 - Yes I had the same thing tracking# n/a. On Sat 11/29 there were quite a few parcels sent out without tracking# been scanned into the system.

I agree they are in a mess.

  18. I was told by a CS that if you have an order and something in that order in cancelled then the whole order gets put on hold. Has this happened to anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  19. no. I had an item cancelled recently, but the rest of my order (4 items) shipped right away. I think you got some bad info - hope you get your package :-)

    ReplyDelete
  20. I heard from a CS that it only delays the parcel by a day or so.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Does anyone know what time the site gets updated every morning? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well it has been 12 days and no package. I have a feeling I will never see it

    ReplyDelete
  23. The tutorial on the DIY cascading flowers blazer is up on orangebeautiful.com

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ha, is that a J.Crew window on CNN.com's main page, over the "Poll: 67% cut back on holiday spending"?!

    ReplyDelete
  25. i really don't understand why j.crew thinks it's ok to cancel items that are in stock when ordered! i've never ever seen another company do this. if it's backordered, it's understandable. but if it's listed on your website as in stock- and continues to be pictured there as well- you should be able to order without having to fear that it will be cancelled. ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree, I am not sure why they are the only retailer that seems to have ALL these problems. Did you know that now when you return something they refund it line by line, So if you have a transaction limit on your credit card it will freeze you card. No one else does this

    ReplyDelete
  27. I believe they update the sale section in the middle of the night (well maybe around 12am pacific time)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sorry, this is OT. I posted this over in the Shipley Coat review forum, but that one is a couple of days old, so I thought I would repost here where there is more action.
I am looking for feedback on the warmth of the wool-cashmere. I am toying with ordering either the Wool-cashmere Carrie Coat or the Stadium Cloth Shipley or Lucinda. Any advice on which is warmest?

Also does anyone know whether these coats are currently going for the same price in store as they are online?

  29. Like the new voting POLL over to the side; glad you liked my idea for it:) (or at least I think so:)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Def. saw some spring/resort items in the Pleasanton store this w/end ~ short sleeves, etc. I guess I shd buy my coat now (been waiting). Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow, see if there are addl markdowns.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks Anon at 9:24 AM for the great poll suggestion! :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. OT but for those who are interested:

I have reviewed the perfect fit scoopneck tee, item 97759, over on my blog. I had looked for reviews prior to purchasing but could not find any. I hope my review helps someone!

  33. Any news on the southern CT stores? events, markdowns, etc?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Heck yes I'll be going to JCrew this week... my last final exam is tomorrow which means I will be halfway done with law school. Gotta celebrate somehow.. and there's really no better way than shopping. I'll report back if there's anything good at the Beachwood, OH store!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Tina M: I would also love to know if CT stores are having anything special this week. :)

Incidentally, over this past weekend, the Canton, CT store had 30% off sale items. The rest of the stores (Westport, Greenwich, Farmington, South Windsor) all had 20% off.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jacquelyn - thanks for the review on the perfect fit scoopneck tee on your blog! I've been eyeing this one as I love the perfect fit tees. Can you comment on how low the scoopneck is? I find that so many things labeled scoopneck are too low for me (as weird as it seems, I think I am "short" from my neck to my cleavage). Maybe I need a different bra! OK - too much info this early in the morning! SORRY!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Elizabeth, I don't find it too low, and I would know as I have lots of cleavage. It is definitely office appropriate. What I like about it is that it is enough scoop to prevent uniboob but not too much to feel self-conscious. I love this shirt and am thinking of getting more colors; it is like a refined basic.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jacquelyn - THANKS for the great info! I think I'll have to order one or two! "Refined basic" - love that description, sounds exactly like the things I'm looking for!

  39. There's another really cute scoopneck in a super fit and comfy fabric called the Ringspun scoopneck painter tee was $36.00 $24.50 sale select colors $19.99 item 10258

Strangely-they had this in my store as a new "resort item" I cannot figure that one out??

Great tee though! Thinner than perfect fit as it is ringspun (but not flimsy either) was super cute! I did not buy xs as I did in Ringspun Painter Boatneck but a small and it ideal...may run slightly smaller. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've tried so hard to like the perfect-fit tees, but every time I try them on, I remember why I didn't like them to begin with: they're too long on me so they bunch around my hips, emphasizing my worst feature! I only have that problem with the tees for some reason, because I am a big fan of the perfect-fit tank. Go figure! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I also love the perfect fit scoopneck tee...I got in several colors and agree it can be worn casually or dressed up with a skirt. It is the first time I've bought a scoopneck and I really like it as an alternative to a v-neck. It does run long, though.

I also like the ringspun but sized down in that one for a more fitted look. Since it is thinner, I want to tuck it in to skirts and wanted a fitted size due to that.

A friend of mine works at JC and said her store is doing markdowns on Weds.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OT-What's up with the website--it doesn't seem to have any new sale for the past 3 days?? I am scoping out my canceled or never shipped items and things just aren't changing. Anyone else notice this?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Bug pin: I think they are trying to get rid of their customers one by one. Cancel and order here, lose one there, charge you twice. It is working, they have almost lost me. Still no word on my 11/25 order despite 11 phone calls. Of course I won't cut off all contact until I get my $900.00 back. it is like a bad break up at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yes, markdowns are done between closing Tuesday and opening Wednesday, so look for them Wednesday morning!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh, lol, Penny, yes one by one works too ~ nasty experience w/ a online CS the other day, almost did it for me! Thanks for info on markdowns. Does anyone know how long the 20% off to open JC card will go, I'm considering this.

    ReplyDelete
  46. does anyone know how i can get an online PS?
if there really will be a 25% off code for using a PS I will certainly use one! but since i'm at least a 19 hour trip from a b&m, i was wondering if you can use a PS over email?
any tips or info would be much appreciated, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I would also like to know about an online PS. I had the PS in my local B&M approach me and get my info, but she has NEVER reached out to me. I'd love to have one online if thats possible!

  48. Westport, CT store had several of the new arrivals up tonight- eyelet dresses, lots of shorts, white chinos, beaded tunics, paradise jacquard pant (very pretty color in person), cashmere henleys, giza sweaters, short sleeve cardigans. It was overwhelming, that's all I remember. Major colors are sands and corals and look quite nice.

Didn't get info on any special events, sorry! I just don't spend enough (or buy full price).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Does anyone know of any special events at the San Diego Fashion Valley store? When do they do their markdowns? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  50. caliglam - the 20% off to open JC card will goes through 12/24, I believe. You should call CS to be sure, though. I could be wrong. It could be 12/20. This past weekend I opened one!

    ReplyDelete
  51. i noticed at my b&m the new account credit card was back down to 10% (tysons corner, va) today

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks Gigi, might open one this thursday IF 20% still on!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous @ 9:03 pm - That's odd. Now that I think of it, maybe the promo is 12/6 - 12/15. I think those are the dates a CS gave me. She told me about 2 wks before Thanksgiving which is why I can't remember exactly. The website currently says 20% for a limited time only. You can always open one over the phone if there is an issue in-store. The process was so easy. The rep put my info in the computer and then swiped a major credit card. Voila, credit line. I thought long and hard before opening this card. I have thought about it seriously for at least a year. I figured I am spending so much here that I may as well get the $25 reward cards. I also think they are going to find a way to make better cardholder promos in the future. They have to. It's too competitive out there.

  54. Is there anything going on in the Southern California stores?

    ReplyDelete
  55. 30% off sale at the Beachwood OH store, I got a the gorgeous Cashmere Femme sweater for $35 after 30% and my 15% student discount. Glass button merino cardigans were $39.99, Quinns are $39.99... and a bunch of other stuff really cheap. I hate shopping online because of the shipping.. I got two sweaters, the wide patent belt, 2 bangles, and a favorite tank (which was $4.99 on sale) for $83... it's too hard for a cheapo like me to spend even $100, especially when the discount is way better in the store.

Oh and they had at least 6 sean bags marked down to $99.99. They had the tulip and dark cloud.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Does anyone have any comments on the Merino Miranda jacket? Fit? Fabric, is it the same as the Alice from las fall? Buttons, are they nice? Thanks!
