J.Crew Email: Cardmembers: couture is in the bag.

A big "thanks!" to Ashley who shared with us the latest email sent to cardholders about the Leather Gallery Satchel (Item 13336; $298.00).

I have to admit, I much rather prefer the cousin-version of this bag, the Small leather gallery hobo (Item 13383; $250.00). But that is just my personal preference. ;)

What are your thoughts on the Leather Gallery Satchel? Are there are any J.Crew bags that you are currently lusting after? Are there any bags that you would definitely *not* purchase, even if it was massively reduced in price? ;) What are your thoughts on J.Crew's bags/ purses in general (fan or not)? :)

  1. Great for travel & airplane, but I'd fill it too heavy for throwing on my shoulder regularly. Lovely, though ...

  2. OT- J.Crew posts a video featuring Lemlem. Jenna interviews Liya Kebede. Kids models in this video are so cute:)

  4. I agree with you Alexis. I prefer the hobo version. I like that it's smaller and more springy in that you just throw it over your shoulder and go. The satchel I'd rather have for the fall or winter months. Both are still really pretty though.
p.s. got my 25% off card in the mail today. Soo excited to use it soon!

  5. I like the look of both the hobo and the satchel...I'd be happy with either one. :)

  6. I'm not a fan of this satchel, but I do like the Belle satchel, in pink. I'm getting over the large bag trend though, I have many already.

  7. I did not care for this bag in person. I really loved the small hobo until I saw IT in person. Somehow, the smaller hobo does not work as well IRL. I purchased the small in metallic from the Collection store, but returned it the day it arrived. The size of the bag with the handle did not work. It was more straight up- and down instead of rounded, like the larger bag. So disappointed, as I really wanted a smaller gold bag.

  8. I'm a cardmember, and I didn't get this email. I did, however, get a red card. That's all that matters ;)

  9. Ummm, email sent to SOME cardholders...I didn't get anything!

Oh, I did get the 25% off card in the mail today- I wonder why JCrew doesn't have a 30% off all merchandise in stores for everyone like C.Klein did with their new line? Some JCrew card holders get upset when they don't get this card (I would too).

  10. I also prefer the Small leather gallery hobo over the satchel. It looks like a great quality bag, but it also has the potential to be an "arm breaker" for me. I'm petite, and don't like tucking large bags under my shoulder or having one hand occupied with toting duty.

I also didn't get this email. Phooey.

  11. I just bought my first J Crew bag from the weekly exchange and LOVE it! It's the large Carnaby from last year. I'm really impressed with the color and quality of the leather. I may have to look at J Crew for a small size everyday bag now. To be honest, I stayed away from the bags before for fear of a high price for low quality.

  12. I just got the JCrew Anya Washed Leather bag from ebay. I love it!
It is still just sitting on my bench and I pick it up and look at it every day. Too pretty to use yet! :) ha.
I usually by Sak bags, but the Anya bag was just such a gorgeous bag, I feel really lucky that I found one.

  13. J.Crew handbags really are good quality and the styles are quite unique. I have several and have my eye on another one, just waiting for a promo as it is still full price.
