J.Crew Email: FREE SHIPPING (ends today)

J.Crew sent an email this morning reminding us that their offer for free shipping on orders of $175+ with promo code BEACH will end today, 6/25/09. This offer was extended, as it was originally set to expire yesterday (refer to this post). :)

J.Crew is also telling us to not forget about shopping their Final Sale (refer to this post). Ha! ;)

Did you take advantage of this latest promotion? If so, what items did you order? If not, are there no items that interest you or are you waiting for a better promotion? :)

  1. Yep, I bit on the BEACH code. And the final sale. Wanted new jeans, but couldn't resist a cotton/cashmere sweater at $24 and my old swim trunks are a bit sad, so grabbed board shorts too.

I'll be sporting a j.c. suit at my wedding in two weeks, looks quite sharp.

  2. I'm trying to decide right now. Free shipping is nice but in this retail climate, paying full price seems stupid.

  3. I used this code to grab a few of the solid three-quarter sleeve stretch shirts (I love these!), the Beaded fireworks necklace in mineral grey, the Perfect-fit short-sleeve scoopneck tee in natural, and the Perfect-fit corsage scoopneck tee in navy.

  4. I won't be taking advantage of the code. There isn't really anything I want right now. I bought some of the recent new arrivals, which I really like, but I can't get excited about anything else on the site.

I have been buying some new shoes lately though, but not J.Crew.

  5. Not taking J.Crew up on this code. I used the 20% off to drop a few hundred on a new ludlow suit last week. It's killer and I'm tapped out for a bit.

  6. I did. I wish I ordered these shoes when there was the 20% off code, but I just found my wedding dress this week & the Liza satin strappy heels will go perfectly with it. And for whatever reason, it didn't show up in my cart as a final sale item (or it did at first and I got to the last page of checkout before I decided to wait. When I came back a couple hours later, it was no longer marked final sale in my cart). I ordered a sweater to get free shipping--rather pay an extra $10 for a sweater than a pointless $15 on shipping.

  7. Ugh. I also caved. Finally, picked up a fireball pendant, and a shell ringspun rose tee. There are a bunch of popbacks today for the sale items. I noticed a few of my items were not marked final sale. Enjoy!

  8. No, I looked each day at all the popbacks, filled my cart, sighed and did not buy! Waiting for fall. I think there will be more I really want and maybe more good promos like last year:)

Don't want to take a chance on getting a holey sweater or other problem goods that others and myself seem to get on final sale as well.

  9. I actually did use it to order a few of the New Arrivals. They aren't available in my store, and I want to see them IRL and try them on for size.

  10. No, I'm staying away from JCrew for a while to recover from my last 2 huge bills.

  11. @Jca's who were interested in the jcrew Rolex watches
    They are taking preorders.
I just placed mine. Call the 1800 number !

  12. I was surprised to see the crystal constellations cardigan available in all sizes from xs to xl this morning
    I could snag a small :-)

  13. I wasn't going to order but then I saw Faye kitten heels in gold in my size so I had to get it. My Lucie kitten heels are getting a bit worn. I also regretted not getting the prism bracelet when it had 20% off, so I ended getting that one and the sun ray bangle. I also got the cotton cashmere waterfall cardigan. I couldn't tell whether all of them are marked final sale or not. I'll see once I get the printed receipt.

  14. Happy Life, this is a friendly question, not a snide one:

Are you really comfortable buying a Rolex from J.Crew?

I have one myself (probably old enough now to qualify as "vintage") but I cannot imagine making a purchase like that from anyone other than a trusted local jeweler. True, it's a great watch, so it's unlikely that anything *would* go wrong with it, but would you trust J.Crew to take care of the problem if it did?

  15. I didn't use the BEACH code almost did but I changed my mind. I have a bad habit of ordering a bunch of stuff to meet the required amount and then end up keeping the extras I ordered.

I had a gift card with exactly $99 left on it and I used it to buy the Linen Watercolor Floral Strapless Dress and I just had to pay the shipping & tax.

  16. RJ I have a question about the fit of the Ludlow suit. How does the jacket comapre to other labels, or the washed favorite shirts? I'd love to order a J.crew suit, but I'm unsure about the fit.

  17. Used the code - I had to get the perfect fit contrast shirt in the new arrivals. They sold out in the store within hours of getting it and the last size was a zero. I also bought some items that were FS that popped back today. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get the cancellation notice.

  18. Summer- Anything that has a hole in it, J Crew should take back. Regardless, of final sale or not. But I admire your will-power! I will be taking a jcrew break for all of July myself!

  19. I decided to stay away from jcrew.com since it's final sale. Today, I went to my local B&M to return stuff, and found that some sale items mark down further. Finally got the Sunray necklace $49.99 (compared to online $99.99) and it's not even the final sale....

    ^O^

  20. Hi Hexicon!

Thank you for pointing out the cons .
I spoke to my online personal shopper..and she said that they have a 60 day return/exchange policy on this watch.

Also they have a 90 day warranty on the watch which covers any damage within the watch that would deem it defective such as the battery stop working, starts running slow, piece falls off etc.

I totally agree that its better to buy from a trusted local jeweler(unfortunately, I dont have one now) ... but I totally fell in love with this watch the moment I saw it and wanted to get it for my bday next month :-)

  21. I love how they say FREE SHIPPING and then you click on it and in smaller writing it say... on order of $175 or more. Most stores have a permanent free shipping on over $50 or at the very least $100. Give me a break J.Crew.

  22. I actually placed 2 orders using the free shipping codes. I got a bunch of stuff, including some winter coats! Weird I know, but come fall they will be full-price again!

  23. I used the code to purchase the Balustrade and Mica minis from the new arrivals as well as a pair of rip stop cargos and the shawl collar cardi for my husband.

Whoops! Better stop calling it a cardi or he won't wear it. LOL

Not a smokin' deal but free shipping is better than nothing.

  24. Does anyone know how long the Final Sale lasts for? I want to hold out for a better discount -- but don't want to wait too long

  26. avery-
In my experience, final sale lasts (seemingly) forever. Think months.

  27. parkaveprincess,
I know what you mean. I filled my card and most times I only have about $100-125 worth of items. I refuse to buy more to get to the free $175 mark! I know others buy ride alongs (extra items) and end up keeping them! That is what JC is counting on and I just don't want to buy stuff I really don't need.

    JCREWGAL,
I know JC will take back a holey item but I have ended up with store credit and a hassle and I think the chances are greater with final sale/older items getting defectivie items or worn items...at least in my experience.

  28. There's a lot of full price things I want that I'm waiting for them to go on sale or have some kind of %30 off purchase of $150. If they do that again, I'll jump.

  29. ugh. the Liza satin strappy heels look NOTHING like they do online. I don't think they are going to match my dress. Good thing they are returnable!!
