Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring sale, or to see some new Summer arrivals {wahoo!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. My PS invited me to a "Private Event" Sunday night at my B & M ... don't know if there will be any new items, have a few things in mind to try on. Anyone else have store events this week?

  2. I'm in search of the superfine cotton Bistro pant (11847) in navy, size 2 or 4. I got the jacket and it is fabulous, but the pants disappeared from my cart before I could order them! If anybody sees them and could let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it. :)

  4. If anyone sees the *Denim Cruise shorts* in blue (not white) in a 2 or 4 (I'm not sure how they are fitting) please let me know or put them on hold so I can call!

I hated them at first, but now I wish I had them!

I'm on a "shopping strike" for the rest of this month per my blog post yesterday, but I've been looking for this item for a while!

    Thanks!

  6. Ruffles-

I'm headed to my local B&M for an event on Sunday morning. Looking forward to it. Ladies, if you haven't been to one, ask your local store to put one together. You get the store to yourself(ves) and there's no fighting the crowds. It really is the way to go!

  7. Not sure if this is the right place to post this so apologies if it's not but I just wanted to share a very positive customer service experience.

Long story short, I was frustrated with the recent daily changing promo codes (20% off one day, plus free shipping the next)and sale prices dropping days after ordering, so I wrote to JCrew letting them know of my frustration and kindly requesting that they review their promo and shipping policies.

Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call the same afternoon from a very nice CS rep. apologizing for my frustration and offering a price adjustment and to refund shipping charges! I found this to be encouraging, thanked the CS rep. and asked her to please forward my concerns onward and upward and she stated that she definetely would. I have been a long time crew fan and because of this recent exeperience will continue to be for a long time to come.

  8. jbird: is that the same as bring 3 friends and get % off $120 or more if they purchase something? My SA told me about that one at my B&M but it's hard to get my friends to go all at once...

  9. On the lookout for 'dressy' navy dresses - superfine, hemp, jayne, etc in size 8.

If anyone sees, please let me know!

Yes, it's pretty much the same thing. There's usually at least 4 of us. A fellow JCA organized the last one I attended and invited me. Are you in the Baltimore,MD area?

  11. I may go to look at the New Arrivals, but from the reports online so far, it doesn't seem as if there are that many, unfortunately.

  12. New items I have seen:

    * denim colored chambray shirt - $78, it's 100% cotton, so much better, lighter weight & more fitted than the humongoid selvedge, no epaulets on this, 2 front breast pockets, white buttons

    * ikat-type print cardigan - navy/wht, $88, only 1 left, none in WC

    * strapless top with flower (16188, on web) - $128, only saw the white. SO cute! However, I think I'm going to stick a flower pin on my sanur dress for free and keep on walking.

    * Super 120s-type sleeveless dress w/scallop @ neckline, only saw black or maybe it was navy, $198, this dress is HOT! It's just like the broadcloth scallop top, only a dress instead of a top

    * saw the pleated strati top (15695) in Walnut Creek, $110, not exciting

    * rugby striped cotton cardi, long, can't recall the price, maybe $58?

    * boatneck fine striped cotton top, very soft, will probably fly out the door @ $29.50, comes in navy/white, gray/white, the top is white and the colored stripes as very fine, like the micro stripe

  13. My PS called it the "Shop and Share Event." Basically, she said it worked like this: You get three referral cards to give to your friends. Once they set up an appointment to shop with the PS, they will get 20% off their purchase (of over $125). After the three friends you’ve referred come in to shop, you will receive 20% off of your purchase. I was hopping to find some JCA's going to La Cantera so that we could all hook up and get the promo. If your out there and would like to particiapateplease feel free to e-mail me at:

  14. I went today to make returns and see the new arrivals,

    1) I really liked the silk/linen ikat-type print cardigan in navy/wht, BUT the small gaped at the top 2 buttons and the medium was WAY too big. It stayed there.

    2) I was told that they were expecting a few other new things tonight, so if you are planning a visit, you may want to wait until tomorrow. This was at the Easton Town Center store.

  19. crewcrazy,

They said something about graphic tees, but thought it might just be replenishment. They also mentioned something about a new shirt with ruffles.

I'd appreciate feedback on what you see as I don't think I'll be back for a while, maybe not until the next rollout if there isn't anything better coming this time around.

  20. I bought the black Jayne dress a few months ago and have received so many compliments that I wanted another one but they were all sold out. I noticed two weeks ago that they have restocked Jayne dresses in 4 colors but they are backordered until October! I ordered one anyway. Within two days I had a shipping notice and the dress arrived a week after I ordered it! Just in case people want a Jayne dress now -- you might not have to wait.

  21. New arrivals in our store (Thousand Oaks, CA -- small store). Included ringspun (?) tees with blue stones clustered on the front shoulder. There were two shaes of blue stone offered. The tees are really pretty but the stones are real and so they are very heavy. Wonder how this will wash. I didn't check the price.

GigiofCa is right about the new dark chambray shirt being nicer than the selvedge. It's a softer cotton and a darker navy/gray color. It is much more fitted.

I bought the 120's dress that Gigi mentioned (butterfly/scalloped design at front). It's very comfortable and fits TTS for suiting dresses. The front v is a little low for work (I'm a teacher) but it's not as low as the superfine Cristobal dress.

  22. Just went to my local rugged warehouse today. So many J.Crew stuffs from last year. Scored the leopard dress for $19.99. Website is still selling for $59.99. What a steal! also saw lots of tartine ruffle cardigans in navy and the candy tees, etc.

Oh forgot to say I'm in Atlanta.

  24. Someone a few days ago asked about stores that still had the french terry shawl cardi...The Asheville, NC store still has a TON of them in all colors and sizes at $19.99.

They also have a whole wall of knit dresses for great prices...$29.99-49.99. They had the dressy jersey belted dress in mango and gray, twist strap dresses in all colors, cottage dresses in black and gray, strapless dress in aqua and the one with the ruffle-flaps over the boobs (sorry-can't remember the name of it :)) in all colors.

Also Gateau skirts at $29.99. Lots of v-neck bf tees on sale.

Went to my local outlet today-seeing more "reruns" from the retail store from seasons past-most exciting news was that some of the outlet stores(bigger ones?) will be getting the Domino Jaquard pencil skirt-the SAME one from last year-I love this skirt and have it and the matching jacket-so keep an eye out if interested next Thurs. The outlet's eyelet skirts were cute. Also some nice pearls.

  31. Lindsey B: I saw the Denim Cruise shorts in the size you are looking for at the Brea, CA store.

  38. Lots of posts about messed up orders. I am glad that people are reporting them though b/c I have had my share as well.

JCrew really needs to do something about checking returns esp. before sending them out!

    So sorry about everyone's problems.

  39. Naomi,

I hope you can find another one? What did CS say when you called or took it back to the store?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Kater - my order got totally messed up also. I received a random skirt and no tee shirt, but all my other stuff was in the order. Then 3 days later the tee shows up with no invoice or anything. Hopefully your Milla tank will arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Kater and Naomi: J.Crew should do a *We'll Find It For You* search and ship the items to you for free if they are available. I would ask to talk to a Supervisor and request this be done...both of your situations are completely unacceptable. They at least owe you Free Shipping with no minimum on your next orders.

  42. Do any of you fabulous JCAs have experience with the linen beach shorts? Do they stretch?

  49. Lauren - thank you so much for the kind offer on the milla tank, but unfortunately, that isn't my size! I think I'm just going to let this order go - this mess is giving me flashbacks of the hohoho and turkey codes (especially as others are reporting similar problems) and I don't have the energy to start that endless cycle of phone calls and reordering again! So I'm just going to have the amount refunded and send the wrong package back.

I hope these problems don't continue, and thanks again lauren!

  53. Not much new to note at the Ann Arbor store. Just a few of the new arrivals, a slub knit tank covered in unfinished rufflies- gasp! The pretty silk tie neck top is down to 29.99 in the sale section with several sizes left. Lots of knit dresses, same as other posters have covered, nicely priced finally. The ringpun ruffle short sleeve henleys are at 29.99 too, which seems overprices still since I recall complaints of gapping at the buttons. There was one of the seahorse tees in L for 14.99, cute but eh. Oh, I was tempted by the soft tee cardi, thich is down to 24.99 in store. I may get it next time I go in if it's still there. (That's my "if it's meant to be" rule of shopping.)

  59. hi--I have a quick question--a little ot but here goes

I just received the short brewster suede boot. They fit fine, once I get them on my feet, but it is VERY hard to get my left foot into the boot! I literally have to sit down on my rear and yank like my life depends on it. That said, once I get it on, it is fine and feels great. Does/did anyone else have this problem? Will it loosen up at all with wear?

sheesh--I love the boots and want to keep them but beauty shouldn't be so hard.

    thanks!

  60. Recently I noticed some difference between online price and retail price, though I am not quite sure whether all B&Ms offer same prices.

*Items that store shopping is better*
    Marquise-stone sash belt: B&M $9.99 (online $24.99)
    Garland cami: B&M $49.99 (online $59.99)
Summerweight chino cocktail capri: B&M $39.99 (online still $59.99 except one color)

*Items that online shopping is better*
    Burnished linen skirt: B&M $69.99 (online $49.99)
    Glass-bead ribbon necklace (Sandstone): B&M still $55.00 (online $34.99)

I remember a J.Crew store offered me a discount price a year ago when I told them the item was sold much cheaper at online. But maybe J.Crew changed the price policy…

    ReplyDelete
  61. Stores will still price match, but they have to verify the online price. I got a price adjustment on the monterey skirt since it's on promo online but not in stores.

Thank you for you interest in J.Crew. We understand that sometimes the
prices we offer online may differ from the prices in our retail
locations. We are happy to let you know that if you notice an item at
a lower price online we do honor that price in your local store. We
offer a service in our stores, the Red Phone, that connects directly
with our online and catalog call center. You may use this phone to
order merchandise that has sold out or not been offered in your area.
This service can also be used to verify internet prices so that they may
be honored in your local J.Crew.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know by responding to
this email at contactus@jcrew.com or calling a J.Crew Associate at

  68. I've had trouble a couple times with certain SAs matching online prices in store, sometimes I think they are too busy/lazy to call and verify even though it is clearly the company policy to do so. I will often bring the item printout w/me, dated that day. This has worked for me ... I got a bouquet cardi last week for 19.99 (online price) that was still marked 49.99 in store. Worth a try.

  72. Since I don't often get a chance to shop at B&M, I'm often dealing with the reverse situation--prices much cheapter in store than online. (Sometimes items in B&M may be on sale for 2/3 off while online it's FP; yes there are marketing/inventory reasons, blah, blah, blah, still very frustrating to me as a internet customer. It is such a hassle trying to ask catalog for a price match that usually I just call the store.)

So, speaking of all that--has anyone seen the Super 120s suiting skirt in tea rose on sale in a store? TIA.

  74. I went in to make some returns and take a look at the new items yesterday. The mini skirts in the ikat and dark blue/black print are so lovely, if they weren't mini I would buy them! My store just got the strati tanks, even though they're not terribly new. I like it so much better in real life than on the website picture. I bought one in ivory. It will look great with pencil skirts I think. I ordered the silk indigo floral pencil skirt on the red phone, it will be coming out on the website on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. There is a top and swimwear in this pattern coming out too. I also purchased the ruffled hem jersey dress. I've liked so many of this season's jersey dresses only to find they are cut too low to wear. This one is very bra friendly.

  75. Just came back from the Tysons Corner store...got the Glaidola print skirt for $19.99 :) I also bought the navy eyelet skirt.

I also saw another skirt -- white background with navy and black alligator spirals. It fit TTS, but I wasn't sure about the pattern -- has anyone else seen this pattern? I think they have a cardigan with this pattern too. Thoughts?

Waiting for the indigo floral skirt...good to know it's coming out this week online!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Priya, the new skirt you saw sounds intriguing! What was it made of?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm pretty sure it was cotton -- not thin though, like the gladiola or the abstract lattice skirts. A bit thicker than that and had kind of an embossed feel to it.

I think I forgot to mention in my previous post that it was a pencil skirt. I'll probably go to the store later this week and take a picture of it.

  80. I saw the alligator print pencil skirt and cardi at the King of Prussia, PA B&M on Friday.

My step-daughter almost bought the pencil skirt, but really needed a dress instead. It is like a cream linen blend, not smooth cotton and the alligators are like embossed/embroidered-looking. Sorry, I can't really describe it too well. Anyhoo --- it was so adorable on her, runs TTS. Reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer prints.

The sweater is a linen-cotton blend and so very cute as well. Cream with navy and royal blue alligators, sweet!

There were some great cardigans with contrast trim at placket and pockets. The contrast colors were actually bright, yeah! I am dying for some color..

PS- The dotted dress was already sold out except for one in a sz 0 in the store window.

Easton JC was a huge disappointment. I did not see any new graphic t's. There was a shite one with two gold cranes and a v-neck with a henna sort of design in green and purple. The slub twisted t's were up front as well asthe split neck beaded t's. The best part for me was some favorite tanks for 9.50.

I bought a Jackie that wasn't in stock and went to Polaris to pick it up. The store was really calm, neat, well stocked and had a sleeveless slub top with ruffles down the front that Easton didn't have. I picked up the crocodile cardi on sale. I like EAston so much more than Polaris but shopping at Polaris was much nicer that EAston late afternoon on Sat.

  85. Thanks Crewcrazy!

I agree with you about Easton vs Polaris. Easton is supposed to be a "flagship" store and have more merchandise (according to a Polaris employee last year). However, the layout of Polaris makes it seem "calmer" and it's easier to browse through.

    Thanks for the info.
