  1. I wonder if this is their "big" promo for President's Day weekend? I'm not going to use this one. Too high of a minimum, no free ship. Lots of Jan items in the sale section this morning but none of the ones I was interested in. Oh well, I'll just keep waiting!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Awesome. This is just what I needed to pull the trigger on the Cleo platforms - even though they're backordered through April. (Which is probably how long it will take for all this snow to melt anyway.)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Speaking of all of the exclusions, does anyone know what happened to the "special for J Crew" things like Tretorn or Converse sneakers? They seem to have disappeared from the website!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Jeez, thanks J.Crew, that's soooooo generous of you....20% off, but I have to spend $175. Hmph.

(sorry, snow storm making me crabby!!)

  5. I hate this!! The past two times, I have placed orders RIGHT before the promo happens. This time, it was literally this morning! Hopefully customer service will apply the 20% off for me, although last time they gave me a hard time because I was a day late and had already used a free shipping code (even though extra30 included free shipping). I had to go to the B&M after the item arrived to apply the discount (they like me there!:) What is with the recent crackdown??

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm trying sooo hard to not buy some jewelry I've been wanting that is now on sale. This small promo does not help my will-power at all. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  7. I just got this email, and it's not enough to get me to bite. As Kristen said, too high minimum, no free ship. For me that = no purchasing. I'm on a flexible JC ban. I'll keep an eye out for more of the canvas bags to come in at the B&M, and keep an eye on the online sales and will possibly bite for another percent off plus free ship promo, and items I feel good about/ safe purchasing (i.e. not tissue tees, but maybe another color of tango tank or the cashmere cardi in dusty blossom.)

    ReplyDelete
  8. cheesygoodness-- what do these canvas bags look like? i keep hearing about them!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm sort of surprised they didn't offer Free Shipping with this...maybe it will come later in the day or tomorrow?

OT: I received the Cleo platforms in Soft Graphite and promptly sent them back. I found them to run small, not to mention they are very uncomfortable, and the color does not look the same as it does online (definitely darker). Kork-Ease are a much better option. The *Bette* and *Ava* styles (with the suede wedges) are very similar to the Cleo, the prices are lower, and they are very comfortable, too. I have the *Bette* in Natural (perfect neutral color that will go with just about everything) and Black...love them both. :)

  10. Pass on the offer...nice but not enough to encourage me to buy.

Culinarian: I don't know what happened to the Special for JCrew stuff, but you might want to call customer service and then keep checking back online. DH was interested in a few items from JC's collaboration, but most of the SAs had no idea when these items would be in stock. He finally saw his items and they stayed online for quite awhile. My guess is that the limited production numbers mean that they don't have much inventory, so they only post the items when they have the quantities to meet some needs.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Pass - I already picked up some non-sale items and had free shipping for them with the last code (30% off FS/free ship over $150).

Thanks for posting! Always good to see some type of code; you never know when there'll be that one time you'll need to use it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. If they added free shipping, I would pull the trigger on several items that have been in my cart...

OT, has anyone tried on the tiered brique skirt? Does it fit TTS? I have a couple of the fan eyelet minis from last year in a size 0, and didn't know if they fit they same, or if I should downsize to a 00? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  13. The Snow Sale got me. I shoveled 6 inches already so I deserve it. Placed a big order - most of the stuff in my bag and a couple of things that I had just picked up over the weekend that can be returned AND a bathing suit.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I hate this tactic as I do not end up saving - especially with no FREE SHIP. I don't think I am going to bite this time. There are not many sale items I am interested in either.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I really only want one sweater so this doesn't work for me.

However, I went to the site this morning to order a pair of the adidas Stan Smith sneakers for my son. They had been removed from the site. I'm fine with them being excluded from the promo, but I wish J Crew would stop taking items off the stupid site. Every other website I shop at seems to be able to make the promos not apply to excluded items.

Now, I still need the shoes, don't have the style number, and don't feel like trying to deal with customer service on the phone as they had a couple of similar pairs of shoes and I really want to get the correct item. If I can find them on a different site, someone else will get my business.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oooo yay! I finally get to order the ruffled gamine jacket I've been coveting! (on sale now for $119, so $99 after this promo, ladies!)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Culinarian,

I just saw your post after ranting about the same issue. J Crew can't seem to make their promotions apply selectively, so they remove the items. You can try calling customer service and order an item that way (if they can find it).

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ditto to Emily- I caved!! Ended up re-ordering several items that I just received from the new collection and then also had to order a few adorable Crewcuts items-

'Heart Breaker' tee for my son- Too cute and perfect for Valentines day

Girls Sequin Heart tee for my daughter

Girls Ruffle Chino jacket- why can't they make this for women! it is TDF!

There were some nice jewelry additions to the sale section but only ended up getting the Stained glass earrings-(they are actually on sale for $40 but not in the sale section??)

  19. Did anybody else think that Oprah was wearing the cashmere v-neck henley and the Frances top, both in cinnamon spice, during the Superbowl ad with Leno and Letterman?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kerrie: I did!!! LOL. I yelled loudly "hey, that's J. Crew she's wearing..." The response from my bro, my dad, and my hubby? Rolled eyes. They just don't get it! She looked so pretty in that combo, I thought!

    ReplyDelete
  21. kerrie: Absolutely! I noticed it right away and everyone else at the party thought I was a huge loser because I got really excited!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I bit...on the code. Experiencing cabin fever, tired of the SNOW and this is what happens when I am shut-in...I shop online. Ugh. But, picked up some nice things. Now... if the UPS man can get to my front door sometime between now and April, I'll be in good shape!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Emily, that is the best shopping reason, good for you! I will now use this morning's shoveling to justify keeping a pair of jeans that I was going to return. Thankyouverymuch!

Twiga, I love that girls' jacket too, please post about it when it comes.

JCrewCC, the canvas bags are the simple shopper type bags, plain beige with a monochromatic graphic in three styles I believe all of a woman shopping with tons of JC bags. I think the pic is in black or navy. Nothing astounding, I'm just addicted to reusable bags. I have them stuffed in my husband's and my cars, purses, give them as gifts, etc, and I get them in cute prints to satisfy shopping urges sometimes. Apparently the JC canvas bags were a big seller, hopefully they'll continue to make these.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Twiga, I bought the Heartbreaker & Erin Go Braugh tees for my son as well. They run small! I had to re-order a size up for both!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I did use this promo: Thanks for the code! :)
My son needed some boxer shorts, and since he is in Mens sizes I really need to get them on sale: $8.99 minus 20% is a good deal.
Ride along for me? I totally caved and bought the wool perfect pencil skirt in black. Ah, well, I know I'll love it as I own it in 2 other colors. My teenage daughter has stolen my bistro mini so a new black skirt was needed in my closet.
I also snagged a couple of pair of the pointelle lace tights: I own one pair already and they are SO NICE!
All of my items were already on sale so a good promo for me. :)

  26. YellowLux - the Cleo platforms are basically a remake of the old Kork-Ease's sandals from the 70s. You can probably find a less expensive pair and have it delivered sooner if you're interested: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=kork-ease+platform+sandals&spell=1&oi=spell

  28. I was very excited to see this email! Free Shipping would have doubled my fun, but since I have about $500 worth of stuff in my cart anyway this is still considerable savings. Count me in as a happy camper. (Plus, I am loving the snow!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I KNEW KNEW KNEW there would be something after I found the chalet boots last night. I KNEW IT!! And my order was just short of $175.

JCrewCC - I just added a picture of the bag here (with other pictures of things from the upcoming rollout):
    http://tinyurl.com/ycdvvej
Let me know if the link doesn't work!

I hope this is OK, Alexis

  30. I JUST placed an order very early this morning, but it was for $160....ugh. Oh well. I don't think I will be using this code, since like others mentioned, there is no free shipping. Totally pointless.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @ Leslie- I bought the tiered brique skirt at the B&M last week , i don't think it comes in sz 00 but I would say compared to some minis it maybe is a little teeny bit "bigger". What I'm comparing it to in my mind is the corduroy mini from the fall, I had tried that in 0 and it was a bit tight across the butt for my style. But this tiered skirt in 0 was perfect fit for me- so maybe it's a teeny bit roomier- but I use that word lightly :D. Although...the tiered skirt is supposed to be A-line not mini so that can be a difference too. I don't think it's exactly A-line maybe a mix between the two styles, also because the length is short. I tried another skirt with a bright floral print that was the exact same length (but I don't see online) and size-wise in 0 it fit exactly the same. I love this skirt so much, defi worth it! I hope this helps :D

  32. I'm looking for the wool ruffle-front coat, size 6, black if anyone sees this in store. thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. OT: I just found out which bit of info will bring up an order number if you're past the five orders in your history. On the printed sticker put on the bottom of the shoebox, or put onto the plastic bag the clothes are in, there's the BM# that is the original order number. You just put that in the "find your order" field under Order history, and you're set.

Maybe I shop too much, but doesn't holding only five orders seem a little... paltry?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Carla, thank you for the Kork-Eez reference!!! I kept thinking Earth shoes for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Actually @ Leslie again- I do see the other mini I was was talking about. It's called the watercolor potpourri mini- it is a little bit shorter than the tiered skirt, but for me it fit exactly the same. I hope this helps! I hope I'm overwhelming you haha.

    ReplyDelete
  36. CheesyGoodness - Oh those favorites from the 70s. Kork-Ease I can wear but not the Earth shoes. I bought a pair about 2 years ago and they are wonderful. I love flat sandals but sometimes you want some height and there's the platform style or a lower 2 inch heel (I think) too. When I saw J Crew's version I was stoked because I alreay had something like it and not as expensive as what they priced at. Fabulous Florida Mommy was thinking the same too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. CheesyGoodness, thanks! Yes, I DO think it's weird you can only see you last five orders, and CS once told me there is NO WAY to view older orders. So thanks!!

With that comment and this quesiton, I am probably saying a lot about my personality, but does anyone know how I can get a picture into polyvore? (It's a clean shot of the sequin scarf cardi) I have it saved on my phone and in flickr but I can't import from either place. Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  38. MommyDearest-thanks for the photos! I immediately called CS and pre-ordered the Sunshine cardi!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mommydearest: Thanks for posting the pics.

Darn I placed 2 orders in the last 5 days totalling over $175.00.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think I'm going to buy the fenton-fallen Carringtin Crystal Bow necklace along with a skirt and some tops. I was hoping for a 30% off promo, but 20% will do.

by the way, has anyone seen IRL the crystal bow necklace???

    ReplyDelete
  41. and oh, i love the blume printed peep toes in cotton candy!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ok, it doesn't take much to get me to buy, well, anything =\

Got the sequined raye tank (if anyone has tried this, would you mind sharing your opinion on it?), a cashmere v neck cardi, ruffled perfect fit tank, tissue tiered tank (i know, tissue tank, but i just couldn't resist) and belt on sale. Jeez, so much for that new years reso. NEXT YEAR.

    ReplyDelete
  43. CheesyGoodness - Holding 5 orders in the J Crew system is very paltry. I went back 1 year in Kohl's online system. And ON/GAP/BR holds for at least a few pages worth of history. If BR would come out with designs I like, I might relegate J Crew to the bottom of my list. I have free shipping for life with my credit card there. It gets good use at ON, but not so much at Gap or BR. Oh well. As you can tell...I think this code is lame.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mommydearest: Thanks SO much for sharing those pictures! I'm really excited for the next roll-out!

Quick question, if you don't mind: regarding the print of the watercolor cardi and pencil skirt...are they the *exact* same print? When I look at the pencil skirt preview picture (as shown on Slastena's blog) there looks to be a lot more white than on the cardigan. Did you see the skirt in person? Is it more like the cardigan? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  45. mommydearest,
Thanks so much for these photos. The cherry blossom cardi looks very intriguing..

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't know if I'm going to bite. I was super excited at first but then I realized that there's no FS. It's an awfully high minimum for $20 shipping. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Does anyone know when some of these new in store items might be on the website?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Everyone, you're welcome! :) I'm sorry the pictures aren't better...they looked clear enough on my iphone screen, but on the computer they don't seem so much. Especially the tags.

    ReplyDelete
  49. CheesyGoodness I keep all the email order confirmtions from J.Crew. When I need to find an order number I search my email for the item and then get the order number and enter it online. Easy alternative if you no longer have the plastic.

    ReplyDelete
  50. AppGal, I am sorry for the confusion! I had the info for the pique skirt written right next to the other stuff, so I thought it was the same. I'm *mostly* sure it looked like the one on Slastena's blog - like you said, similar print, but more white in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Carla, FabulousFloridaMommy - thanks for the heads up on the Kork-Ease shoes. With the discount, the Cleo sandals are around the same price - and the Kork-Ease seem to be equally sold out in my size in many styles, across the Web. But I'll definitely bookmark their site for later.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Overstock.com has a nice selection of Kork-Ease sandals at good prices:

    http://www.overstock.com/search?keywords=Kork+Ease

    ReplyDelete
  53. GAH! Like some of you I placed orders late last night/early this morning when pop-backs appeared.. used free shipping code.. no luck with customer service adjusting!

    :(

And most of it is final sale.. so.. bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Kork-Ease *Bette* and *Ava* appear to be available in all sizes at the official Kork-Ease website if anyone else is interested. They offer free ground shipping on your purchase, too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I placed a rather huge order early this morning before I got this email. I wonder if they will honor without giving me this "one time courtesy" line using an order from the ancient days...

Do you find emailing CS is better than calling over the phone?

    ReplyDelete
  56. can someone comment on the fit of the watercolor potpurie mini.
    is it TTS?
are the colors very bright IRL?
    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yellow Lux - I got the Cleos in soft graphite and I love them! I looked at Kork Ease sandals online too but I thought J.Crew's interpretation and the gray color looked more modern. Also, when I ordered them they said backordered until 4/19 but shipped the next day.

    ReplyDelete
  58. CheesyGoodness: Thanks for naming my condition: "Flexible Ban"!

FFM: Thanks for the quick Cleo review!

I woke up this AM to an empty cart so had to reconstruct my favorites. 4 weeks of careful selection down the drain.

Purchased the Pearl Twisted Hammock Neckace for the my Mom's Birthday this month, the Denim Safari Jacket, and the Neopolitan Skirt. LOVE the Neo print!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Kork Ease owners...sorry if this is a repeat, but are they TTS? I'm a 7.5, but my feet swell in the summer. Would I want an 8?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Does anyone remember how much the Downtown Field Jacket was on sale for?

There was one (my size!) popped back earlier this morning, and it was full-price ($148). I called CS, and she didn't want to adjust the price for me when I told her the jacket was on sale late last year. I ended up ordering it with another item to get FS. I kept giving her all FS codes I could think of, BUT she said "No, it has to be an on-line order." What gives?!!! They used to not do that before. I hung up and when I tried to order on-line, my jacket was gone!

    Okay, done venting. :))

Thanks for reading and for answering my on-sale question regarding the jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  61. OMG... LOVE the cardigans esp the cherry blossom cardigan! Are these items not currently in stores? I have called a couple stores near me and they said they don't have them...

    ReplyDelete
  62. OT- Does anyone know if the Light Berry Cashmere color would look good/ coordinate with the Dark Peony color of the wool herringbone Teagan from 2008?

Would appreciate feedback if anyone has both of these colors in their closet. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wendy, Re: Peony and Lt Berry

Tone on tone is more subtle than total contrast and yet just as tasteful. It doesn't break-up the body so much when worn; i.e. tops and bottoms stay more streamlined without being mono-chromatic. Sorry for all the verbiage, I am a designer and color is key!

Peony and berry are in the same Hue so go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Leslie- I tried brique skirt in my reg size 4 and it was too small. 6 fitted me better, so I thought it run slightly small.

Courtney- Downfield jacket was 59.99 on sale, I too noticed it went back to FP. WTH?

Mommydearest- that was a TREAT! Thank you. If you want, email me the scarf pic-I'll post it on my blog and you can crop it to Polyvore from there- slastena at hotmail dot com

  65. I braved the snow to do returns, and there were quite a few really new things in the sale section that I was surprised to see. Like, came in the last couple weeks new. The black blossoms jacket was at $80, the pear/teardrop bead necklace in all colors was $30, the high ruffle neck jersey dress was $40 (although not very new), the swiss dot Alphonso (OK that's not the name of it!) blouse was $40 or $50, and a couple of the new tees with the NEON graphics were marked down, too. I only had time to do a quick pass, but it seemed like the tissue Victorias were cleaned out except for the slate in XS, of which there were many. And darn it, not a canvas tote to be seen, so I managed to abstain today. At JC at least!

gigi, I hear you about good history, it is a great tool to have. Although I damn high shipping charges to the blackest pits of Hades, Anthro has it going on in ALL other ways. I can see years and years back of my shopping history on the website, and the customer reviews are great. The return policy is second to none. They do price adjustments to sale items and the CS is great. I like that you all get free shipping as Gap brand cardholders, that is a great incentive. (hint hint, JC!)

Baybaybay, good tip on keeping the email confirmations. I have been keeping more of the plastic ship bags, since MMM I think it was, shipped a couple things to me in one from the Exchange. That got me to thinking about ways to reuse them, so I've been keeping more on hand, but as far as quick access to the info goes, your way is the best!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks for the responses on the brique skirt! And thanks mommydearest for the pics!

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thank you, Slastena, for the quick response.

    ReplyDelete
  69. There are often complaints about JCrew's shipping charges but I am getting totally screwed by Anthro shipping charges for a return. I had to pay shipping to get the sweater and I want to return it, and since I live in Canada I have to pay to ship it to Ontario and then they are going to charge me $16 to ship it back to the U.S. They won't let me ship it myself either, I have to basically pay shipping 3 times to try an $85 sweater. That totally blows and I will not be ordering from them again.
    :(

    ReplyDelete
  70. MommyDearest can you also email me? My email is DCStylista1@gmail.com Thanks so much :)!This would brighten up my day to think about spring outfits as Snowmaggedon II in DC is overwhelming!

  71. GlobeTrotter and Johanna,

It might be easier for you to see the pictures in my flickr album :)

    http://tinyurl.com/ycdvvej

I can't stop thinking about the tunics and tee...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Courtney, that is terrible!! They did the same with a the pixie pants and always cardi (and increased the price of it $10)!!

Slastena, thank YOU for the correct picture of the skirt. I thought it was the same print as the cardi et al. Thank you for the kind offer to get the sequin scarf cardi into PV! FFM put it up there already, but I really appreciate the offer! :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Gigi, definitely go with the 8. I'm a 7/7.5 almost across the board - especially in the Crew. I ordered an 8 on a hunch in the Kork-Ease since it's a wedge, and they fit perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Did anyone see the carrington crystal necklace in real life?

    ReplyDelete
  75. GlobeTrotter, I may try that. I think I only have 30 days to return it so if I get my butt in gear I could get the listing up by tomorrow. The CDN$ has fallen a bit and it is now $97CDN on the Anthro site. It's the Beribboned Buds cardi. I bought a L but it still gapes at the bust and swings freely at the waist. An XL would just look sloppy IMO. The sweater is nice but I have a J.Crew Jackie twinset in wild peony that is just a shade off so really can't justify a hundred bucks for something so similar. Well, a hundred bucks minus 3X shipping!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Sorry to go so OT. I don't think I'll take advantage of this promo. I have the Neapolitan and Unagi skirts en route as well as a few stragglers from the last promo so I should sit tight for a while. At least until the next rollout. Would have been nice to get those new skirts with a discount but of course shipping the FP ones back from Canada would cancel out any savings.

Happy shopping and thanks for sharing the photos mommydearest!

    ReplyDelete
  77. thanks for posting those pics mommydearest! those jelly flats are super cute! i hope they're comfy :)

  81. Thank you Mommydearest!

This is completely OT--but has anyone washed their Crew Merino wool/plain wool in the washer?
I have a front load machine with a wool option and a bottle of Woolite and I'm tempted to try it (especially because I'm snowed in with DCs Blizzard 2 and I need something to do!) TIA! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. OK, Got to see the pictures. Been trying on and off all afternoon but now it finally worked.

Thanks for posting the pictures. The cherry blossom is pretty but not the price tag! It would probably wash out my far complextion anyway:)

Like many of the other items though. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  83. xoxo, those are outrageous shipping prices, I feel sick for you that you'd have to pay THREE times. Unless there are different rules for Canadian shoppers, Anthro has an unlimited time return policy. I found a sweater that I'd forgotten to return before a move, unpacking boxes over a year later, went online and printed a copy of the order, and returned it for the full price I paid the next time I went to a store. (We're over an hour away, so I only go a few times a year and save my returns up for those trips.) I don't know if waiting until your next "border crossing" would work for you, but it may save you a good few dollars. I've been keeping half an eye on that sweater myself, actually, and it's backordered in L and XL until sometime in April, so you may not have a hard time selling it if that's what you choose to do!

mommydearest, thanks for linking to the pics you took! Bright and cheery on this cold, snowy day!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Johanna -

I routinely wash my sweaters. The trick is to 1) use a laundry bag as friction contributes to the felting of wool. 2) use cold water, as hot water does the same as above. And 3) as always, lay flat to dry. You should be fine - I've done ALL my sweaters this way, from cashmere to cotton to merino to blends.

  85. I am so sorry that you were having problems, Genny! So glad you did get to see them. There are some pretties, no?

I am not internet savvy, so I don't know exactly what to suggest if anyone else has difficulties. Can you search flickr for a user? I'm mommydearestjca over there too :)

  86. Sundance Catalog is featuring Kork-Ease shoes. I love the Honeybee boots.

I'm not sure how the prices or styles compare to Kork-Ease's own site.

  87. Ashley, I love jelly flats for rain and I have several pairs from past seasons. They look so cute!

The bad: they have no padding of any kind - they're just plastic shoes. So they aren't exactly *comfortable*. Then again, they aren't the most uncomfrotable either. They don't breathe (again, the whole made-of-plastic thing). I think JC adds some ventilation holes to help with this. Really, the worst thing about them IMO is that they ruin a pedicure. The plastic causes the toenail polish to smudge terribly. Like not touch-upable, like do your whole nail over. Has anyone found a solution for this?

The good: they are super cute and great when you don't want to ruin other shoes. The bow on this year's variation is

    HTH! :)

  88. Want to second Yellow Lux (although I usually hand wash bc I don't trust our current washer...) but when we had a front loader, I did :) You can use a plain cotton zippered pillowcase also if you don't have a mesh bag. Good luck!

  89. CheesyGoodness, I am so jealous! I am stuck at home and can't even indulge in the 20%. Feeling the restrictions of the shopping diet....severely.... ;)

But.....did you happen to notice the in-store price of the bijoux pear necklace (22684)? TIA!

  90. mommydearest,
Do you use Seche Vite topcoat? I think it would work on your problem. CVS in my area sells it or order it online or sometimes beauty/hair/nail salons have it for sale

  91. Hi, all. FYI, I got an email from my personal shopper in Chicago inviting me to see new spring items on Feb 22, so the rollout must be about then.

  92. CheesyGoodness I will look at the terms & conditions and if the return time is unlimited I will take it with me on my business trip later this spring and return it to the store there. I don't usually order from Anthro online because I do have opportunity to travel stateside periodically and it's much nicer to try things on. I know a lot of people find J.Crew sizing to be sporadic but with the help of this blog I can usually order with confidence. Since there are so many contributors to Anthro's line it is a bit more difficult.

Alexis, I'm sorry for the many posts OT. I really appreciate the advice from the helpful JCA community.

  93. Has anyone gotten the Cotton-wool lino cardigan? Can you speak to the fit at all?

  94. Hello JCA's
Received my March InStyle in the mail today. There is a tear out card with a free shipping code for LE Canvas. Keep an eye out for it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. You can use regular LE free shipping codes on the Canvas line as well. The two sites are connected. Just sign up on the regular LE site and you will get free shipping codes all the time. At least one a week is no minimum and other times it is $50. Never seen higher than that. This week I have gotten two no minimum codes. One on Monday good only for that day and one today good for today and Thurs.

  96. mommydearest, sorry for being confusing! I looked up the item number, and the pear necklace I meant is the pear shaped beads with the ribbon ties, there's a clear, a black and a pink, maybe one more color, for $30. I had CT (crazed toddler) with me so I didn't check any jewelry in the cases.

Even though I didn't purchase, it was wicked good to get out of the house, but my back is mad that I did all that shoveling to get outta here.

xoxo, I feel the same about trying things on. I was a bit out of control during their free shipping periods, buying different sizes. Hope it all turns out!

  97. OT- Does anyone know how shipping works for charge sends? Is it the same as buying online? Tia!

  98. My PS let me know that there will be some new arrivals tomorrow! Going to wait until then to decide if I'll take advantage of this promo.

  99. Mommydearest- the Bijoux necklace is $69 in stores. They also had the facets & Fringe necklace on sale -I think it was $79- too much hanging off of this one for me.

  101. Leslie and Ina,

I tried on the brique skirt and the watercolor potpourri mini last weekend. Both are sooooo cute. I thought the brique was pretty true to size, maybe a little big. I usually wear a 00 or 0 and the 00 fit perfectly. Not too tight in the waist. It is super cute on and I wanted it badly but couldn't justify the $128 right now.

Ina - I ended up buying the watercolor mini in size 0. Fit is not that short on me because I'm 5'2" but it definitely would be on somone taller. I wish I would have gotten the 00 now though, I think it is a little on the big side too.

  102. Genny, thanks for the suggestion! I will look for it.

CheesyGoodness, thanks for the clarification! When I first read your comment, I thought you were talking about the bijoux being $30 and I almost fell over! But I realized it was those other ones. Too bad ;)

Twiga, thanks for the update! Hmm, $10 less and no shipping....may have to give the PS a call....I thought it was messy in the case, but then I saw this pg lady try it on with just a white tee shirt. It made an instant outfit. Really stunning.

  103. Thanks for help w/the Kork Ease.

I tried on the brique skirt, so irl pics in this post.

  104. Mommydearest- if you call your ps ask if the matching bracelet is on sale? I think that I saw it in the case but did not see the price. I am on the fence about the necklace because of the rose gold, but really love the look.

  105. Ina- I think the watercolor potpourri mini is TTS. About the brightness- I think it's definitely on the bright size. I think the picture online is a bit "muted" because it seemed quite a bit brighter IRL. But it's still very very pretty. Hope this helps!

  106. xoxo: I am a Canadian and have had the same problem with a return to Anthro. It was my first order from them, I kept one thing and sent the rest back. I will never order from them again, very expensive! If I can't return, what's the point?
I appreciate the fact that JCrew makes it easy for us Canadians to return, and with all the free-shipping they give us, to spend a few bucks occasionally to post something back is no big deal, IMO!

  107. FYI - The sales representative I spoke with today accepted the 20% discount and free shipping discount. As many of you have mentioned, it all depends on the representative you get!

  108. I am looking to buy the Marche Satchel in fawn and the Small Georgie Satchel in black. The thing is I've never bought a bag from Jcrew so I don't know how the quality is. Well the most important thing for me is how heavy the bag is. I'm wondering if these bags are heavy because of their leather? Like Marc by Marc Jacobs' leather is so heavy. I made a mistake to buy one of his bags. Can anyone share their experiences with JCrew bags? Thanks in advance!! =)

And I definitely want to take advantage of this 20% off code. And I wish it was free shipping too but I'll take what I can get because I desperately want a black bag with a shoulder and hand chain.

  109. i missed it :( i'm looking to get the erica cotton cady dresses for my bridesmaids but i can't break down and have them buy them at $225...how frequent does this sale come around?
