J.Crew Email: Up to 40% off sale. Online only.

"Thanks!" to Marietta who shared the email J.Crew sent today that touts up to 40% off items in Final Sale.

The Final Sale section (click here) updated this morning with quite a number of additions (including some popbacks from many seasons ago). As usual, items are quickly selling out. :)

The additional 30% off promotion may or may not still be going on in J.Crew's brick & mortar (B&M) stores. But in either case, the inventory is super low as B&M stores have been shipping sale merchandise back to the warehouse to make room for the new Spring arrivals. Hopefully that means greater sale inventory online in the next few days. :)

Will you be checking out the sale section? Did you score some items from the sale section this morning? If so, please share! :)

  1. I just checked the sale section. I don't see any new markdowns or anything exciting. I got the ribbon ruffle coat in the poppy on Friday and love it as it is more red than orange and just gorgeous. It was cheaper last week than it is now.
There is not any additional % off and prices seem the same to me.

  2. Only a few items have lower prices. And only a couple of items moved to sale. They moved the cashmere tie front cardigan to the sale section, but the price reduction isn't showing up (it says 129.99 when it is on the sale page, but when you click on it, there isn't any markdowns?). Nothing making me jump. I can hold out longer!

  3. I'm not that excited to see store sale merchandise appearing online. The sale items at my stores were looking pretty disheveled - there's a reason why they were languishing. When I order online I like getting nice pristine items. I have a feeling with any popbacks we might see that they will be in less-than-perfect condition.

  4. I just ordered the Cashmere Courchevel sweater-jacket, which showed up as a pop-back! I had looked at it in the past, and I am just a sucker for asymmetric zippers :P

What does everyone think about the Starla pumps? They just look so adorable in the picture, but I don't like buying shoes that are final sale.

  5. Kristin,
Excellent point. After receiving different items than what I ordered in the correct plastic bag (just wrong item inside) and other final sale mishaps I too will pass on shop worn and possibly worn goods.

  6. I pulled the trigger and bought the Cadogan booties. I've been waiting for them to go on sale, so I was happy that the price was finally reduced. Of course, I had $125 worth of gift cards and rewards cards to use, so that helped. ;-) Too bad my purchase didn't quality for the free shipping code. I didn't want to spend $14.50 in shipping costs. Grrr...

I called to place the order, and the CS rep wouldn't let me use all of my gift cards and rewards cards for the order. She said customers are limited to using only four methods of payment, and since I had four gift cards/rewards cards to use plus a credit card, I was exceeding the limit. I cancelled the order and did it online, and it worked fine. Seems like a silly rule... if I have seven gift cards to use, I should be able to use all of them, darnit! Maybe I'm missing something, but I've never run into that before.

  7. Danielle,
Thanks for the post. That is a silly rule esp. when you were able to use them all online. However, I hope someone at JCRew doesn't read this and make the online ordering process the same as the phone now due to your post. You never know...big brother is watching...

  8. I got the 40% off email but the prices are the same in the sale section and without any % off coupons prices are higher than they were last week. I'm holding out too!

  9. I don't see anything I want now or if there is my size is gone. I'll hold out for a better sale update and other % off promo.

B&M sale section was gone last weekend. I did see way more people at BR shopping than JCrew for once.

  10. I agree with Kristin about items appearing in the sale section at this point.

If there was a promo on fp items I would be tempted, but no I will not be ordering fs.

  11. Good point, Genny. Alexis, feel free to delete my post. ;-)

It is frustrating, though, that there isn't any consistency between phone ordering and online ordering. I think it's stupid to limit the amount of gift cards you use, period.

  12. No more percent off at the Ann Arbor store, and they've already sent off the older sale merch. Only a few new markdowns, the tissue Victoria is $24.99 but they only had XS and S, boo! And there were a few of the Elizabeth shirts at $59.99. They were all sold out of the canvas bags, two shipments worth, of course before I got my paws on one!

  13. I checked the sale section at my B&M yesterday and it was EMPTY except for a couple of random items. No signs or mention of an extra % off...

  14. I agree with those that mention the condition of items arriving from the stores. There were items I was tempted by in the store's sale section but they looked so shopworn. The prices were great, peacoat for $70. after 30% but I had to ask myself, after I take this to get cleaned, etc. is the $95. what I would choose, or would the money be better spent toward what would be my favorite choice rather than a good deal?

  15. Number9Cloud -- I saw the Starla pumps last week at the JC Clearance Store in Lynchburg, VA. They are GORGEOUS! If I hadn't already bought so much, I would have grabbed them. A very nice special occasion shoe. The "sequin" on the heel is very pretty/unique.

  16. Can anyone comment on the hyacinth color of the Jackie knit pieces compared to last spring's misty lavender? I have the misty lavender twinset but it seems so washed out. Can't tell if the hyacinth is a little brighter or just wishful thinking on my part.

    TIA

I got so excited when I saw the 40% off, I thought it was an EXTRA40 code and almost fell off my chair. Noticed the Elsbeth oxfords are now in the sale section but sold out in my size. I'm not much for browns anyway but hopefully anyone who was waiting for a deal on these can snap them up at a good price.

  17. Noticed some more things added but nothing that made me want to buy.

  18. CheesyGoodness, WHICH COLORS Victoria were $25??!!!
    Thanks!

    I want a %off code too.

Suzy, that was happening last week too! And I was REALLY irritated about it. I received a navy cashmere tie front cardi instead of the pink Annalise cami I ordered (NO idea how they could have mixed those up). Anyway, I ended up liking the cardi so I took it back to the store to pay the price diff for it (which was significant). However, it rang up at full price. Then my PS called the online people and they said it was full price there too. I KNEW I had seen it for $129.99 in the sale section, but no one could confirm that. I'm afriad I ended up looking like I was trying to scam them. AND I didn't even get it becuase I wasn't paying $200. UGH!!!

  19. BayBayBay -- as a substitute for the Elsbeth Oxfords, check out J. Jill's suede Oxfords. Really cute and reasonably priced. I personally love the "slate" color. Style#IG010B

  20. Nothing from my wish list made it to the sale section. Still waiting....

  21. The sale section holds nothing for me at this point. I picked up everything I wanted during a promo. Since no new items have made it to sale, there's nothing for me to buy. I keep hoping for popbacks on some items from last year. Other than that, the only thing that will get me buying again is a code good on full price items. I have a number of them in my cart waiting patiently.

  22. Been to 3 B&M stores this week looking for good sale items, and each of the stores had a non existant sale section.

    Tis the season I guess.

  23. mommydearest, the Vic. tissue cami was on sale in a bunch of colors: dark grey, a pink, a lt. purple maybe? I was just hunting for a stinking L or XL and all they had were XS and S. Now that I'm not actively sniffing the crewlade I have remembered that I shouldn't buy the tissue fabric. That is one cutenik shirt, though!

  24. CG, THANK YOU!!

I will be on the hunt tomorrow :) You are stronger than I. I will make an exception - that top is so cute, I WILL have it. Now, *IF* and this is only a hypethetical IF, because you are a recovered crewlade-drinker and not interested, but *IF* I should see a L or XL, was there a color in particular you were hunting?

  25. babybaby- I got the painter Henley in the hyacinth color in today. It is a nice strong, bright color not washed out at all, a little girly.

  26. They updated the sale section this morning, and I have to admit I bit. I got the Ikat Bow Monde Dress, which I have been diligently stalking. In my cart for weeks, yeah weeks, the velvet blazer in dark indigo and the slub necklace tee.

My solace to the shopworn clothing issue is that the Ikat Bow Monde Dress is catalog/online only, so hopefully mine will be brand spankin' new.

  27. Ladies, does anyone know how the Marlene crisscross heels fit? Sometimes I take a size 81/2 in JCrew heels but sometimes a size 9. Thank you so much for any help!

Also, I just received the silk streamers cami in light berry and the color is beautiful!

  28. Could anyone help me with sizing for the elsbeth oxfords? i don't know whether to pick a 9.5 or 10. In the Madewell oxfords, I fit into a 9.5.

    Thanks so much,

  29. mommydearest, good luck on the hunt! Thanks for the offer to keep an eye out for me, but I've recovered my faculties. I just can't keep the tissue weight fabric hole free so I can't justify the cost, even on sale.

  30. CheesyGoodness, thank you SO SO much! I found the colors I was looking for today, HOORAY!!! I'm still admiring your resistance...

Just to confirm, in case anyone else is looking, all the colors (well, I didn't see spicy olive, but I assume it is too) are on sale for $24.99. Stock seemed to be low in the B&Ms, but online appears to have everything (some colors are backordered)
