Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. I placed an huge order earlier this morning and I called in to see if they would remove my free shipping and apply the extra30(as its the same day) but the SA denied my request :-( :-(

  3. missmasala, that is irritating! Maybe try again - sometimes it really depends on the person.

Posted this on the new arrivals thread too, but as of a few minutes ago, the extra 30 worked on top of the knits/tees promo...

  4. Yay for the new promo!

It really depends on the CS you get on the other end of the phone. Some will make a "one-time" exception. I placed a huge order last night when the site updated. Most of the stuff I ordered is gone so I can't complain =)

  5. missmasala: try sending an email @ contactus@jcrew.com. I usually find online communication better than calling.

I wish Free Shipping was added on with this promo since I don't want to risk with the whole Final Sale... boo...

  6. I'm not planning to go this weekend since I was just in on Monday, so I would love to hear if the Twill Bomber Jacket has gotten marked down. TIA! :)

  7. I would be interested in hearing comments about the linen-cotton Vneck tees #25099 if anyone sees them in their B&M.

  8. I was in the store yesterday. Picked up the zebra cardi and the blue print kelsey. Lots of new stuff. Happy to say I loved the look of the Peony skirt in person. I had preordered it and was worried I wouldn't like it, but I love it! It shipped the other day.

I'd love to know if people visiting the B&M see the zebra Blakely dress because apparently it's sold out online.

  9. Desert Flower... the zebra Blakely dress was online? I checked when the new arrivals were updated and didn't see it. I did buy one in my B&M, it's lovely. I'm sure they are in most stores... check around or do a WWFI.

I grabbed some loot this morning, had been waiting for a promo like this for the cashmere (I'm a fan) so the shipping was nothing compared to my savings. Thanks JCrew!

  10. CDP, my personal shopper said it was and it sold out, but now I'm not so sure because I just checked after the restock and it's there! I'm buying it today since I don't to risk it disappearing again. Weird, though.

  11. I just ordered the zebra Blakely online (it wasn't there yesterday, but it showed many sizes instock just now...) and the studded gladiador sandles.

Very excited, hope I like both items! I had to guess on what size dress to order, I'm usually a 4 but that defined waist can sometimes be too tight. We'll see...

  12. Went to the March Issue Party lastnight at the Prince St. store. It was a mad house! Glad to meet up with Stephanie & Jenn from the JCA! We all received 20% off our purchases for the shop & share!

Tried on a few new items... love the gorgeous Delphinia gown... sadly it's way too long on me and not flattering. One the SA told me Brooke Shield actually went to the store earlier yesterday and bought the dress in the wild blackberry color and she looks stunning in it! Guess it's for someone who's taller.

LOVE the sunshine peony cardigan & the forget-me-not cardigan in sandstone shell! They're TTS.
FYI - The tulle fountain tank fabric is MESH! Very disappointed for me and I wonder why it costs $198??? The deco scallop shell that costs $695 is SUPER HEAVY! The mini beading is sewn allover at the front and is pulling the neckline. It's pretty but not wearable!

Saw the tweed dauphine jacket and thinks it's lovely but I don't think I can rock that look. It has metallic yarn in the fabric. I did try on the "most hated" silk linen jumpsuit... well it runs big and yea I was just curious to see how it really fits/looks... the bottom part is very baggy but my PS loves it and wants it for herself!

The print on the tie-dyed Wednesday skirt is very pretty but I think it's a little short. J.Crew needs to start making the skirt a little longer! I like the bleeker jacket on the mannequin but don't quite work for me as it runs big.

They also have the zebra blakely dress... I didnt try it on but I did try on the solid version 2 weeks ago and it's big on me. I usually wear a size P0.

The sales section was packed but nothing special that I really want.
    Hope this helps!

  13. OT: Can anyone report if the dotted jacquard pencil skirt is on sale in stores yet? I know it is marked down online, but not sure if the stores have it marked down yet--would love to know!

  14. Any lovely JCAs have IRL photos of the Blakeley dress in the zebra print or solids that you can share?

  15. I went in the store with an online return and spent a good ten minutes walking around collecting items before anyone bothered to acknowledge my presence. There were at least 4 employees standing at the cash wrap talking and laughing really loud (I think even about me- I heard "she" and when I looked up they were ALL staring and then looked away quickly). I didn't have to have anything today but even if I had I wouldn't have purchased. Next time I'll be shopping at a different location or online. What a disappointment.

  16. Does anyone know if extra30 is only online or is it in-store too?

I was really hoping to see the neapolitan pencil skirt marked down today. I need it to wear with my lavender Frances top (and my dark slate kelsey, when I get one) ... I was sad to see it was still full price.

If I'm near a mall I will definitely poke my head in, but I won't make a special trip.

  17. If anyone sees the Honeyclover Ruffled Romance perfect shirt in stores in size 10 could you please post the location here? According to CS and my PS it is sold out online in size 10 already. I have a WWFIFY search placed but apparently it is in short supply in stores too.

I just love the blend of colors and the little ruffle on the sleeve placket is an adorable touch. Would love to get this shirt. Thanks for your help!

  18. Has anyone seen the blakely wrap shirt or the striped cashmere sweater with the metallic brimmed collar in person?

  19. I am supposed to be on a shopping ban, but....I had a few returns to make, and as soon as I walked into the store (900 N Michigan, Chicago), I fell in love with the Crosshatch cotton Blaine jacket in sweet papaya.

I have been trying to buy more blazers, and between the color and double collar...I caved..Lately, I have been having problems with their blazers, but the 2 fits PERFECT.

  20. Any Asheville JCAs out there? Wondering what deals (if any) are going on at the Biltmore Village location and if they got any of the new arrivals yet. I may be able to go tomorrow, but don't want to waste my time if they have a bad selection! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hopefully I can make a trip out tomorrow and try the zebra blakely dress if they have it. I'll try to take a picture if my kids can cooperate. They like to roll around in the fitting room. ;-)

  22. I tried on the Zebra dress and didn't buy it. I was in lvoe with it on the hanger and fully committed to buying it at FP if it fit. Nope. The bottom was good and not to short but the top was weird on me. It gapped at the neck and under the arms. When I sized down it was to tight below. The fabric is lovely though.

  23. Hello!
    Can anyone help me?
I saw a girl wearing a lovely necklace and she told me it was from Jcrew. I looked online and it's sold out. Jcrew customer service said that they don't do inventory searches on sale items so I called several stores in WA and OR and they couldn't find the item. It's called "Chrystal Cluster necklace". I saw the girl wearing one with green beads. This is the one I am looking for. If anyone has an idea of how I could get it, here is my email: marcelaosuarez at hotmail.com.
The price now is 40 dollars.

    Thank you so much!

  24. Jean, I'm surprised that the party at the Prince Street store wasn't cancelled last night. I'm even more surprised to hear that there was a crowd. You're some hard core shoppers! My office closed at 2pm yesterday and was closed again today due to the storm. I thought I was being brave today when I put on my sherpa puffer jacket and Sorel boots to walk 2 blocks to the drugstore to pick up a prescription. :P

Totally OT, but I received my Lands' End Canvas order today. I love the flowered lawn shirt and the china blue checked shirt, but I'm not sure about the green checked shirt. It's a very bright lime green and I have no idea how to style it. What goes with lime green checks? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  25. I'm in Minneapolis on business, and am excited to go visit the Mall of America store tomorrow. I want to see what they might have that we don't have on the west coast - seems like we always get screwed with late or incomplete roll outs. Maybe they'll have that "Turkish Delight" skirt that I've see on a few posts, it looks lovely. At least, they might have the Sunshine Peonies skirt in a 10, which my store said they "hadn't unpacked yet." Ugh.

  26. Hi Jeanne, most of the people there at the party are from the J.Crew corporate office... that's what the SA told me. It was like an office party for them! Jenna was there too wearing a black blazer with painted baggy khaki and the big hideous black frame glasses.
I went there early before the crowd so was lucky to browse through the new arrivals.

  27. OPHELIA'S MOM,

I'm so happy you're going to the MOA JCrew. It's right next door to Bloomingdale's on the 2nd level. Look for the personal shopper Aaron. You could ask for him. He's very tall and thin with all gray hair (even though he's in his 20's) cut in a buzz cut. He might have glasses on. He's very good and helpful. The store could be really busy today. They did have several peony pencil skirts late afternoon Thursday. New arrivals were on the floor Wednesday so the store was well stocked Thursday. HAVE FUN!

  28. I love large framed glasses. I bought some Paul Smith's in tortoise a year ago and get complemented on them all the time. These are like what Jenna wears. I've noticed some younger people (20's, I'm in my 40's), especially in the Uptown area of Minneapolis wearing really large framed glasses, kind of American Apparel looking, but they are too large for me. I think the larger frame is coming back. It's time. That's fashion!

  29. Thanks to Jean for letting me tag along to the March issue party. I'm really liking the Prince St. (so many Collection pieces but oh the prices!) and the Rock Center stores right now. It was really cool to see Jenna in person. She is much taller and skinnier than I thought she would be. And while I understand the appeal of the big black glasses, I don't think they do her any favors. It was also cool to see JCrew corporate in action. What a bunch of NYC hipsters. It definitely explained what's been influencing the styling lately. Anyway, I had a great time and it was great to see some JCAs in person.

  30. Jean & Stephanie, thanks for the posts on the Prince Street soiree. It sounds like it was a lot of fun. I hope those huge glasses don't become the norm as my prescription makes giant lenses out of the question.

  31. jcrew1985, thanks for the tip! Aaron at MOA was indeed very helpful, and they had my peonies skirt. Special thanks for letting me know where the store is - that mall is ginormous, and I would probably never have found it :)

  32. Just got back from the Asheville store (Biltmore Village). Sale section was meh, but I saw one Frances Heart cami in a size 2 for $49.99 (I think)--If you're looking for that top, worth a call to that store!

They got a TON of new stuff though. It was all so very pretty and colorful...very refreshing! I was happy to see that I loved the Sunshine Peonies skirt since I preordered it. What I WAS surprised about, though, was that I ended up NOT liking the Neapolitan Pencil skirt. The print did nothing for me once I tried it on. Good thing I never ordered it!

They also had plenty of the Vintage Bateau top, in all 3 colors (slate, beige, and pink). Tried on the beige one and was surprised that I loved it. If you're looking for one and don't want to wait until the backordered date, try the Asheville store!

I only ended up getting the suckered gingham perfect shirt--it is SO CUTE and fits PERFECTLY! Love, love, love. I also got one of the canvas reusable bags. They had all 3 prints and lots of them.

Hope everyone else found some goodies this weekend!

  33. Forgot to mention that there was another cotton check shirt available at the Asheville store. The checks were much larger than the gingham shirt and even larger than the original checked shirt. My store had it in the navy color. It was cute, but I preferred the gingham shirt to it.

  34. So excited! I found my Vintage bateau top in camel this past Saturday! So happy, because I know I couldn't wait till June! Would love to find it in pewter now! :)
