  1. I took advantage of the promo this time, the fs combined with the 20%was too good to pass up on some pants that were in my shopping basket

  2. Great offer but in my dream world this would have been 20% off sweaters and free ship:)

    LOL--my word verification is:
    order

(I won't be placing one thank you very much!)

  3. Wow, I have to say...I am impressed! I don't think there are any pants I need right now, but thanks for the offer, J.Crew! I'm with Genny...had it been for sweaters instead, I would have bitten. I need a Navy Jackie cardi soooo bad!

  7. Hi JCAs - this is a great promo and I am thinking of using it to try out the Minnies. For those of you who own them - any feedback? TIA:)

  8. stella,

  9. I have paid full price for Matchsticks (I love them so much) that 20% off and free ship is a no-brainer for me to take advantage of.

  10. Off topic, but I just had a SA over the phone refuse to give me the 15% education discount on full-price items because I used the Extra 20% off final sale items. (My order was half final sale, half full price.) I was expecting no problem getting the 15% off the full price items that the extra 20% didn't apply to. She said you can't combine those promotions. Is this normal or should I try calling back again and hopefully getting a different person?

  11. Crew Cricket: Thanks so much for your positive feedback - I find the style to be so 'Audrey and Jackie!' Being that I live in Canada I don't have the opportunity to try things, so I really rely on the feedback I get from you great JCAs!!!thanks again:)

  12. Crew Cricket, I've been eyeing the minnies in charcoal for months, but I'm not sure what I would pair with them. Can you share different pairings (including shoes--do you tend to wear heels or boots with them?) you've thought were successful? Thanks for any help you can give :)

  13. Hmmm, I can't get the free shipping on jeans. They are 20% off though.

  14. Stella, IME if are in doubt on size on Minnie you should size down. My regular size grabbed in some places and sagged in others. In the opposite of what you might think would happen, sizing down gives a smoother look.

I wear mine with ballet flats, mid-heels such as the peep-toe spectator, and my skinny flat 2005 Weitzman ankle boots (which I hope never wear out!). I don't have the Metro ankle bootie but I've seen them together and they look great.

  15. Hexicon: Thank you for your feedback! I love your styling ideas:)

  16. this is great! I have been waiting to get the minnies! the free shipping is a lovely bonus! I tried them on a while ago. I usually wear a 0 at J.Crew, and I needed a 00

  17. Hi, I noticed that the minnie comes in petite sizes. I am usually a P0. Would you advice to size down to P00?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Courtney, the Minnie's don't work on my stick figure but they look great on women with even a bit of curves, like my BFF. If you are really straight the Pixie might be a better fit. Wish I could wear Minnie as there are more fabric options but it just sagged on me in all the wrong places.

I'm buying another pair of superfine cotton pants. This years version seems to fit a little looser than 2009 but I like the slouchy look. These pants are so comfortable and polished, they look like fine wool - love them!

  19. Pass for me. Out of everything, dresses, tees, coats, sweaters, only JC's pants are a no-go on me. Selfishly, I hope April is relatively promo-less, so I can stand strong and keep a ban going. I'm still waiting on some choice popbacks from the 30% off so at least I have a few new goodies to look forward to!

  20. I mentioned on my blog how need spring pants and for once, they actually listened lol. I'll probably be taking advantage of this promo and getting more minnies :)

  21. i bought two pairs of skimmers.

i tried the minnies and they looked horrendous on me. as much as i loved the idea of the pants, i just couldn't do it.

  22. Courtney: You should demand that you get your 15% off FP items in that order. It's a total BS that they cannot apply it since you used the 20% off FS. I suggest emailing them and if that fails call the CS rep back. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was hoping for 20% FP or on shoes... however, there are few matchsticks and toothpicks I've been wanting to get. Not sure yet if I'll place an order or wait for them to be marked down.

  24. anyone try the silky linen slouchy pant? or the matte jersey curator pant? they look on point and i'm excited to check them out! thanks in advance!

  25. my outfit of the moment is the black minnies, vintage bateau top and some black flats. feelin very french lol.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hexicon- I agree with your sizing down with anything stretch.
xoxo- I definitely have a some curves, so you may be right!
Lauren, the Minnie might be the most versatile pant ever- I've worn them with flats (my favorite for the Audrey look), heels (I usually wear a 3" max) and boots, especially "rider" boots. I love how snug the pants fit, but I wear a blazer or a long sweater for work functions to avoid appearing too "Joan Holloway". I love the look of an uncut perfect shrit with these pants. I know I've created several pairings of this pant on Polyvore....check it out!

  27. "untucked"!!

I can not type this morning...must...need...more...caffine...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Stella: The Minnies don't work for me at all, I got the smallest size and they are just a bit too big for me, I look better in toothpicks but I think I'm the only person they don't flatter!

    ReplyDelete
  29. contemplativeang:

I have both pants. I wore the curator ones yesterday. They are amazing! I'm always in between 2 sizes with their pants (sized up in toothpick cords) and I sized down in both the curator and the slouchy linen/silk pant. They both look great with ankle boots or heels.

  30. Could anyone comment on fit comparing the Minnie and Pixie pants? I tried the Minnies and although the fit was great, I didn't care for the look from the backside. My bum appeared quite prominently. :)

    TIA!

  31. Courtney,

I agree. I have even stacked a teacher discount with a free ship (I'm sure that was one of the "one time only" things). It might be a new person that was on the phone and doesn't know how to do the transaction. Call back! If you have a store near you and they know you, you can ask them to intervene as well!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I did take advantage of this offer. I have been wanting to order the favorite fit 120s in navy. I get a teacher discount and could get almost the same price if I ordered on the red phone in store but... I never feel like ordering anything so practical when I'm in the store :)!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tabitha, the minnies don't work on me either. I couldn't wait to get them off. :)

I can't decide if I should order another pair of skimmers, which I love, or a pair of the city safari pant which I am intrigued by. Has anyone tried the safari pant? I like the fatigue, pearl and dark cinnamon color. I would love a pair of ivory crop pants and I wonder if pearl is more ivory or white. Choices, choices, choices. What do you all think? Skimmer in natural or a pair of the safari pants?

  34. This is a bit OT but has anyone ever had success wrangling an exchange out of Jcrew for a FS item? Bought some nice basics but a couple of them in my usual XS are just humongous on me. One of them I think I can probably shrink after a few times in the wash but the other is much worse and just too big all over. For this particular piece, there is XXS available online in the same color and it's no longer marked as FS. I've never had any issues with sizing on before but I guess it was bound to happen. Do you think they'll be nice to me and let me exchange just this once?

  35. I wondered about the Minnie pants in petite as well. The size 4 regular fits me great, but I normally wear petites. I am thinking that I would like the length of the petites, but am afraid to take the chance on guessing a petite size.

  36. Cleo,

I have the Minnies and the Pixies and the Pixie pant was worse than the Minnies. They are so comfortable, however- I just wear a tunic or long cardi with them to mitigate my behind...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Crew Cricket,

Thank you. I suspected that the fit of the Pixie woudn't be better.

You're so right about the Minnies being comfortable. I can't get past my back end being on display though. :)

  38. Thank you jcrewphd and Leah. I will try calling again, and if that doesn't work I will drive to the nearest B&M 30 miles away. I would not have purchased full-price items if I ever suspected they would refuse to honor the teacher discount.

To phyllis: I would try taking the item back in-store if you can. I think they will take back FS if your usual size doesn't fit. I did this once last year, the SA acknowledged the item ran a size large.

Hi math teacher, I am a math teacher as well!

  39. Thanks Courtney! I'll definitely give that a shot :).

  40. Courtney,
You just have to ask to speak to someone "higher up" or "with more authority" and make the point that you can return the full price items and re-order at store with SA and get free shipping.

A couple of years ago, I got so fed up with the confusion on educator's discount changing policies, that I sent an e mail to M. Drexler, and was given one of his assistants as a personal contact to handle all of my issues. I never have a problem getting adjustments any longer.

Last week, I bought a handbag on from the sale section for 139.99. It was not marked as "final sale." A week later, the sale section had 30% off.
I wrote and asked "Do I have to return this and re-order, or would you please just give me the credit?"
and I did get the 42.00 credit!

Be persistant and to the point.

  41. I can't believe I missed this! I really need some new dress pants for work. I'm going to have to check your site more often.

  42. My girlfriend really took advantage of the promo this time. She came back from the store the other day with about 8 new pairs of women's pants and the biggest smile on her face. I guess she really loves to shop.
