J.Crew Email: Exclusive Tretorn sneakers for her

"Thanks!" to Marietta again, who shared another email from J.Crew this morning. (J.Crew is a busy-bee with all these emails!) :)

The email features the Tretorn® Sneakers (click here to shop online), ranging from $68-78, which are described as:
Established in 1891 and considered the first luxury sport shoe, Tretorn sneakers—synonymous with good taste and practicality—have been worn on (and off) tennis courts around the world. This lightweight canvas shoe, inspired by a vintage sneaker from the 1950s, epitomizes everything we love about the iconic Swedish brand and features new, exclusive colors you won't find anywhere else.
The shoes are pretty darn cute in its simplicity. Although the price tag is once again, a bit high for me (its just a pair of simple sneakers!)

I recently got a pair of sneakers {from Wal-mart!} after seeing them being worn over at the {stylish} Little Tin Soldier blog. (Seriously, she wears the best outfits. I love her site!) The downside: the sneakers went on clearance already. Out of three stores, I only found one pair of sneakers in a size bigger than my usual. The upside: the sneakers were only $5 and after an insert & heel pad, they fit me quite nicely. :) (Even without the inserts, the shoes were more comfortable than J.Crew's ballet flats, which I own way too many of.) ;)

What are your thoughts on these sneakers ? Have you tried them on or purchased them? If so, please share! :)

  1. I wore 'em the first time around. Therefore, I shall pass on this round. :-)

  2. I think they're adorable, but they're available elsewhere for a lot less.

  3. IMO these are overpriced. Like Alexis, I found a similar pair for just a few bucks.

  4. Soooo overpriced. Hopefully they will show up at the clearance store for $15-$20... or eventually go on sale on jcrew.com.

  5. I bought some silver leather Tretorns at 6PM.com two weeks ago for less $30.

    They're super cute.

  6. I'm with Elaine; been there done that. I rarely purchase from J Crew nowadays, as they've gotten increasingly stubborn with their coupon codes over the years. I'm getting better online deals at the likes of Saks and Neimans for deeply discounted name brands.

  7. I love these actually. I have been searching for a good casual summer shoe to wear with no socks and these are perfect. They do run a tad big, so half-sizes should order down, especially to wear w/o socks.

I also got a pair of navy Supergas at J Jill (they have excellent sales), and they are amazing too.

  9. I tried the fawn colored Trentorns and thought they were too clunky, even compared to converse.

  10. Hi there, I somehow stumbled onto this page. I am so intrigued not by the sneakers but by the beautiful blue dress the model is sporting with the sneakers. Dying to know where it's from. Not even sure you'll read this old old comment but thought it was worth a shot. Thanks anyway for brightening my day.
