Spring Sale Has Arrived {wahoo!}

The "Final" in the Final Sale is officially gone, allowing for customers to return and exchange sale-priced items purchased online (& hopefully in brick & mortar stores).

With the arrival of Spring, so comes the Spring Sale (click here to shop online). There are even some new reductions in prices of certain items. {wahoo!}
Lastly, today is the last day J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code SHIP150.

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  1. I would have considered one or two items but don't want to pay for shipping or add ride-a-longs to reach the $150 mark.

Did anyone happen to receive free shipping on their account this week?

  2. What items are newly reduced? Thanks.

  3. Repeatedly getting this message so far this morning: Pardon us while we update our search engine.
    (Please hit your refresh button.)

The site is always crushed at the beginning of new sales - at least for me! There's something wrong so often!

  4. Genny, from what I can tell after doing a quick once-over:

    Switzel cami, $69.50
    Pastel petal perfect shirt, $49.99
    Tailored denim pencil skirt, $59.50
    Silk wisteria dress, $99.99
Merino ethereal ruffle cardi (all colors), $59.99
    Cotton tuxedo ruffle sweater, $49.99
Cotton cascade ruffle cardigan (carob only), $59.99

I'm sure other JCA's could add to this. It'd be nice if they had a "new to sale" section like some other retailers.

  5. I'm not that impressed with the sale, I am ready for some new items! Hope it won't be too much longer!

  8. OT, but has anyone tried handwashing Loulie tank? It is cotton, so I dont get it why its dry clean only. So I am curious if anyone tried washing it.

    Thanks!

  9. Elena - I don't have the Loulie tank, but you should be careful washing the things they say to dry clean, even if it's cotton (I'm not saying you can't wash them, just to exercise some caution). I ignored the dry clean tag on my Tuxedo cami, which was cotton lawn, and while I didn't ruin it, it would have been much better if I had just followed the instructions and taken it to the dry cleaners :)

  10. In a totally unrelated post, I received my navy check shirt in the mail yesterday, and I seem unable to style it to save my life. I think I went from room to room and mirror to mirror with different bottoms and accessories on, and I just could not make it work. No matter what I paired it with, I felt like I should be working on a farm or something. :-/

I searched polyvore but only saw 12 or so sets, and they were almost all the same. The shirt is too bulky through the middle to look good under a fitted cardigan, and it's too warm here to wear it under a blazer/jacket.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I was afraid this would happen. Urrggghhh. :-/

  11. jenny, I totally get it, but since its different with different shirts, I want to know if anyone attempted washing THIS shirt.

In the past I successfully washed shirts that are dry clean.. and not so successfully also. :)

  12. Elaine: I don't have the check shirt, but I do have the gingham one in the blackberry color. I love wearing mine with a yellow (like honey glaze) or green (like burnished olive) color cardigan. It also looks really nice tucked into my honey glaze cord skirt. Good luck in styling it! I hope it works out for you :)

  13. kitsmommy, thanks for the link! i laughed out loud when i read what jenna's mom wears: skinny jeans, striped top, navy blazer, ballet flats--that is EXACTLY what i have on today! and i'm 27 years old. :)

elena, i bought the loulie tank (twenty bucks!) and fully intend to hand wash it myself. unless i spill something on the shirt--then i'll take it to the dry cleaners.

  16. Eleine, I ama big fan of the check shirt and I wear it all the time. You can find some suggestions on how to wear it on my blog (here for exemple: http://ema-shoppingmycloset.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html)
    HTH!

  17. Thank you, Ema and AppGal! I will report back on my progress. :-)

  18. Elena, I have the loulie tank in pale blossom and hand washed it and dried it flopped over a rod. I steamed it and I think it looks good. Some of the ribbons down the front are curling towards the center and so are some of the ribbons at the top (not as much), but to me that is fine - it acutally looks a bit more like the online pic now. The ribbons might flatten out with ironing, but I will never know.

  19. Elena, the loulie tank is cotton and silk, not all cotton, if that matters.

  20. OT: Just a quick update re: 'my merino microsequin misfortune'... J.Crew called me yesterday to say that they were sending me a new collection sweater, as they had located one. To summarize, J.Crew refunded my money, told me to keep the 'one with the tissues', sent me a $50 gift, and now have also sent me a replacement cardigan. I am impressed with how they handled this situation:)

  21. Stella: That's is just great!
I've never had JC respond to me as close to that way. I've had wrong things sent to me and things with out tags but all they said was they were "allowing" me to return since I bought it at "final sale" (even though it didn't say final sale on my receipt).

  22. Yes, finally FINAL SALE is gone for a while...
Not finding anything I really need especially since sale prices are that low. I'd wait for further mark downs or Extra % off WITH Free Shipping!

  23. Stella: That is fantastic!!! I am impressed with how they handled it. :) Much like JCrewPhD, when I get defective items (yes, more than once!) all I am told is the item is out of stock and I can return the one I have as a courtesy. ;)

  24. jcrewphd: I was very surprised, too, by their response. Based on some of the things I've read hear about CS, my expectations were low - needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

OT: I purchased the sunshine peony cardigan online today for $69.99 which I think, was a new price reduction (who would have thought that I would be so anxious to order another cardi! LOL - just thought I'd jump right back in:)

  25. Alexis: Prior to this last incident, I, too had returned defective merchandise and had received the same response as you did. I guess that it why I am so surprised at how they handled this situation. I don't know if I just got lucky or if it was the 'nature' of the defect this time around!

  26. Did anyone happen to get a shipment confirmation on the big Monday update (if you ordered, that is). I ordered some AWESOME popbacks, but no "Your Order Has Shipped" type e-mail has come my way yet. I am SO ready for the "Sorry, We Wish We Had Enough..."

    Thoughts?

  27. Elaine - I have irl pics of the check shirt in this post. Start by trying a v-neck or even a crewneck over it first. You might also try a navy or white tank underneath, the check shirt & then the cardi. Don't give up. I wear mine almost once/week.

  28. Oh, duh...just like Ema did. Nice pics :-)
