Take an Extra 30% Off Final Sale Ends Today {tear}

Today is the last day that J.Crew is offering customers 30% off any purchase from Final Sale {no minimum} and free shipping (over $150 *after* discounts applied) with promo code EXTRA30.

This sale, and all its predecessors, have been a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! I loved seeing this promotion back, and hope to see it return soon! :)

Have you been taking advantage of this promotion? Will you be taking advantage of this promotion today? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting before it ends?

  1. Yes. Two days in a row, in fact. But I got AMAZING deals. I bought two suits - stretch wool and super 120s. I really needed them for work (I only had 1 black suit) so I don't feel like I spent buying silly stuff. Of course, I couldn't resist getting fun stuff like the black blossoms cardigan, tissue garland tank, pleated flower tank, asymmetrical ruffle tee, couple of embroidered art tees, and a boatneck cashmere sweater (only $60!) - all of them in nice springy colors. I LOVE this promo! I wish they would do this more often. (of course I know they won't) :(

Now I really am done for awhile. lol.

  2. I will probably look for some deals for my daughter. I am shopped out for myself. I have been looking at Ralph Lauren more and more later. I have decided I'd rather own less clothes but stylish and well made, and RL fits the bill...

  3. wow, the inventory is really low (387 now)... I may order once more if they restock if not I'm still okay since I've got couple boxes coming. I LOVE Extra % off + Free Shipping. Bring it on J.Crew!
Btw, I went to return some stuff and plenty of things marked down and pretty well stocked. It may be worth a trip this weekend. :-)

Oh, If no one is using their 20% off online/instore order coupon, I'd love to get yours. I didn't get one in the mail. :-(

  4. Popback party 1:30 am PST, 767 items. Some red "We're sorry" pages, but most items that have refreshed pages have some items in stock. Not a full range of sizes, though. As I said, it's a popback party. If you missed it, don't feel bad. It wasn't like the really good couple that happened prior to this promo.

  5. I bought 3 Kelsey tops in azalea, stone and wild blackberry. I also picked up another Frances shirt. I'm not sure what made me purchase all of that but I couldn't resist!

My fiancé is trying to get me to quit the crewlade... I can't do it! Anyone else have budgeting husbands/fiancés that are against your shopping habits?

  6. After my last order getting 2 items cancelled and my popback item being totally different in the bag than what I ordered and was printed on the outside bag label PLUS 1 defective item it was EASY to pass on this promo. Nothing exciting left for me anyway.....I no longer get excited like I used to about JCrew sales...

  7. Maybe JC will take note of how much of their cashmere and jewelry has made it to this sale. I was surprised at how marked down a lot of the 'tackle-box' pieces were - some over $100 off! I couldn't tell the difference between a melange, dauphine, twisted treasure, etc. Okay, maybe I'm not surprised at how much is left/how much they are - but just how many different necklaces there are that all seem the same to me.

  8. I just placed a small order for a friend in Canada and although I was not near $150 after the code, no shipping was charged.

  9. In spirit, I'm with Genny! Too many cocked up orders lately, insert grumbling here, for me to want to order. Unfortunately, my wants have little to do with what actually happens sometimes. A force much greater than I compelled me to order when certain popbacks showed up, like the tango tank in black that I've been dying for after loving the heck out of the grey. And a mini patent campo in coconut shell? So I need another bag like a hole in the head, maybe that will be "in" for the summer... The larkspur cardi will also be winging it's pretty way to me soon, yea!

I'm doing another flexible ban for April. Since the tango was my A number one "will buy no matter what" item, I feel pretty resolute about the ban, provided the tango actually ships in good condition.

I checked out the Birch Run crewlet on Monday, and it was a big letdown. There were practically no pieces from retail, everything was made for the factory store. They did have nice garland tank ish silk camis, that ran alpha rather than numeric, but were still more than what I wanted to pay. Most of the fabrics seemed thinner and cheaper than retail, and without good sale prices. Anyone who was looking for last spring and summer's tees may want to have a look, though. They have Dance Etiquette and Gondrys, and lots of different ones with rose and flower appliques that looked familiar.

  10. I agree with silver_lining it is surprising to see the amount of cashmere on sale as well as their tees.

I will not be ordering anything on this promo, waiting for the May rollout.

O/T If anyone missed JC Space Dyed Cardigan from last Summer, BR is selling one that is a dead ringer for the JC version. It was 25% off yesterday, I do not know whether it is on sale today.

  11. Hi casual_crew! *waves*

I actually ordered that BR cardigan (called the 'abstract-stripe knit cardigan). It's I think a little bit thinner fabric than the JC one (which I don't own, just saw in the stores). Word of warning, it runs very small, unlike the oversized space-dyed JC cardigan. I got a S in the BR one and the arms were so tight I could barely get it on, much less button it! If you read the BR customer reviews it looks like sizing is ALL over the place for a lot of items. I'm glad for those customer reviews!

  12. Is this online only, or has anyone seen extra30 in B&Ms?

  13. I got my order from last week and am really disappointed. I ordered the wool ribbon coat in stone and a pair of suiting pants. The coat fits like a tent. What makes it even worse is that somebody obviously took the tag off before and reattached it later because the paper tag is torn in this peculiar way that the plastic thingie that attaches is to the coat itself can be reattached. I know I am not doing a good job describing it, but bottom line - the coat was worn and whoever did this knew they would return it. Shame on them, all i am going to say.

So the coat fits huge, now the pants fit at least a size too small - I could not even zip them up! i am thinking this may heva a wrong tag on them.

So I am disappointed with both.

  14. Elaine - A few weeks ago, when there was an Extra20, I was able to get a sales clerk to give me 20% off a cardigan I was going to go home and order if I couldn't find it in store. He said that the item would just have to be final sale - fine with me, since I had tried it on! He said they will generally honor online promos.

I was about to pull the trigger on an order and then realized there are more things I like from the latest roll-out... which will either hopefully go on some kind of sale, or I will just have to bite the bullet and get them (Waterfloral/color skirts, for example.) I'm trying to stop buying just because something is on sale and only acquire pieces I really love, like more of the featherweight cotton cardigans.

  15. It's only a good deal if they have what you want in your size. Want to bet they will restock as soon as the extra 30% promo is over? I think that's what happened last time.

  16. Does anyone notice a pattern as far as how often J.Crew card reward points certificates are distributed. I earned $25 but haven't received it and I was wondering if they tend to send them out at certain times of the year. Any info would be much appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  17. ilovepastry, they do the rewards quarterly.

By the way everyone, I have free ship on my account when I log in (which is why I didn't pay it on my sale order this morning even though I was under $150). You may want to log in and check your acounts! The last time they did the free ship on my account was December and it was the entire month.

  18. I only ordered pants for my dh during this promo. I already have what I wanted from this past season.

Also, all the seamless edges, chiffon, not-so-pretty tee overkill and neverending ruffles put me off. The tango and brulees purchased were enough ruffle for me.

I'm looking forward to tunics and cute tops on their own; so tired of the 'cardi party' (not meant to be offensive, just how I feel).

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anyone else just get the "free shipping thru April 11th" email? And here I thought maybe J.Crew had forgotten about me...

    ReplyDelete
  20. No free shipping for me! Of course, I just realized I didn't spend enough this quarter to even earn a teeny reward card, so they're probably not feeling the love for me. Hmm, and I haven't received a catalog either!

Pastry, rewards cards are sent out on calendar quarters, not as points are earned. The quarter ended yesterday, so you should receive your card around the 20th-25th of this month.

I really wanted the salmon marche tote but dithered too long and it got snapped up. I already have enough art tees and crappy cashmere sweaters so I think I will resist and see what the future (or eBay) holds.

  21. Elena - sorry to hear that but I'm not surprised. Some even returned stuff after blogging about wearing them out to dinner (with pictures). This is exploitation of the system at our expense.

  22. Alexis,
Sorry, I could not locate your email address - but I posted an email from "Jenna" about a new item on my blog, maybe you want to share it here?

    ReplyDelete
  23. No free shipping on my account, but then I didn't get it the first time around when this happened before, either. Hopefully I'll get it eventually. :)

  24. Elena,

So sorry for your experience. I know how you feel:( There is this love/hate extreme that goes on with me and JCrew this past year when I used to only LOVE!

    Hexicon,

I did the same...I did not spend enough to get a tiny rewards card either!

    CheesyGoodness,
(My daughter loves your name by the way) Thanks for being with me in spirit. I enjoyed reading your post. I like the idea of a "flexible shopping ban."

  25. RatsOnParade - I received the free shipping through April 11 email.

  26. Can anyone comment on how lilly peep toes fit? Are they TTS? Do they fit like lulus?
    Thanks!

  27. Suzy, I got that email, too. Sadly, they probably know I'm a sucker for a big, washed leather tote. ;) I just bought the Bisbee, but I'll probably get this one, too, at some point.

  28. I participated in the promo twice : ) for some items that have been on my wishlist full-price for a long time. It took a whole lotta will power to not stack on some more of the same last night when I saw the update, but there wasn't a strong enough popback to get me to pull the trigger with a final sale.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Suzy, me again; I checked your blog. I got that email, but a different item entirely! Strange. Mine was for the Jericho washed leather tote for $258, I think. I don't think I'd bite that nearly $600 tag either!

  30. I got the free shipping when I logged into my account last night but didn't receive the email though. This is the first time I have received such offer! J.Crew has been very nice to me lately... maybe I have spent too much these days? I received a recycled canvas bag from J.Crew a couple days ago (the one that was sold in store earlier).

I have placed a few orders with this promo... it's just hard to resist when it's 30% off plus free shipping and I was able to get things that I actually want and in my size! Really wish that they could do the extra 30% in store again...

    ReplyDelete
  31. went to my B&M yesterday, lots of sale items! I had a studded pyramid belt (at full price) in my cart waiting for my 20% off purchase, but snagged it in the store for $19.99.

  32. I'm so amazingly happy with the painter tees I got on FS. I love just about anything in the Hyacinth or Pale Coral colors, and these are no exception. They're sooooo soft and comfy for downtime/hanging out. I want to hug them! Maybe I should have bought more ...

Also, the order I placed about 36 hours ago is already halfway to my house. Oh happy day -- I love living close to the VA warehouse!

  33. I went into my b&m yesterday, and was amazed at the quantity of all of the tees/new roll out items available. I hadn't been in the store in over 3 weeks, due to our vacation and my injury. I figured there wouldn't be much left from the recent roll out, of the popular tees, etc. Seeing that, I decided that we will probably see many of them in final sale 30% off in a few weeks. New items coming in the next few days, so even more reason for current items to get reduced! Last week I ordered a new tee, received in Monday, and that next day it was on sale 10.00 off less another 30% online. J Crew did adjust that one under their original price/one week policy. Just seems logical to wait for reductions lately.

  34. It's tempting to pick up a dress with the promo, as some are reduced in price (not FS) but still qualify for the extra 30. Can anyone give feedback on the Alexa cotton cady dress OR the Seraphina in blade green? I'm mostly a 4/S in JC across the board, but occasionally I veer into 6 territory in dresses. TIA, ladies!

Amanda, I did the same thing you described! I've been working bizarre hours for a big project the last weeks, so I was up for the "popback party" (thanks, Gigi!). I had a cart full of cute and long-gone items when I realized there are newer items that I'd much rather have. Of course, everything was gone from my cart when I checked this morning, but the only one I'm mildly upset about is the Contessa coat. I think I'll live. :)

Rats on Parade - no email for me, and no in-catalog coupon, either. My mom did receive one of the 20% off in B&M coupons in her latest catalog, which I find hilarious as the most recent thing she ordered was the linen getaway dress last June.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Off topic, but I got my April catalog in the mail yesterday and inside I had a one time online use 20% off coupon that expires on April 11th! Nice little surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Elena - I just received my Lilly peep toes in Beechwood yesterday and I think they are TTS. I'm a size 7 for most shoes and the Lilly's felt comfy without feeling too loose or too snug (to cause rubbing) when I walked around the house with them on. The only concern would be that maybe if you had a wider foot it might be a bit snug at the toes.

I think these shoes are super cute and with the modest heel I can wear them almost anywhere :)

  37. no free shipping here. that's good for my wallet though because i did some serious damage last time they had this offer.

  38. heather, have you received your bisbee bag yet? what do you think of it? i was just poring over the april catalog last night--it really looks like a sweet bag.

  39. I checked the sale section a couple times this week, but I didn't see a single thing that interested me. I already have enough cashmere to clothe a small city and I definitely don't want any of the "tackle box" jewelry, regardless of the price. I can buy real jewelry that I'll wear for the rest of my life for around the same price, so that's what I've been doing.

Congratulations on the new suits, Charlotte. I love the wool suits, but unfortunately JC suits and pants don't fit me very well. I ordered a BR cotton blend suit this week. The Jackson fit pants are perfect for me, but I notice BR is offering fewer and fewer options in that fit. I hope this suit fits because they only have two options available in the Jackson fit, and I already own the other one.

Gata, I love RL, too, but I've had some bad experiences with their pants. One pair of wool tweed pants, in particular, literally disintegrated after a few wearings. I bought them on sale for a small fraction of their regular price, but I would have been livid if I'd purchased them at full price.

  40. Jeanne,

Me too--checked the sale section each day and didn't see a thing. I kept wanting to find something and didn't. Although as someone posted unless there is something specific in the sale section I have been eyeing I am not going to buy just because...

I also agree with you on the jewelry.

Hope you have a happy Friday:)

  41. Irene, thank you for your response!

  42. Jeanne,

Tackle box jewelry--LOL! Perfect description for the bizaree looking necklaces!

  43. Hi Alexis at 12:28 PM! Congrats on the Ludlow Suit. Could you email me (jcrewaficionada at yahoo dot com) when you get a chance? :)

  44. i placed an order when the promo first came out, but what I notice, and not sure if this is true, is that Jcrew doesn't really replenish items while on promotion...Would love to buy more, but the selection is very limited for me now. Good for my wallet though!

  45. Megha,
I ordered and received it about a month ago. I still have it sitting on my desk so I can admire it (I'm so weird with new bags! LOL). It's a really well-made, gorgeous bag with a warm saturated terracotta color - I bought the tawny brown. It looked big when it first arrived, but after I took the stuffing out and put my own things in, it had a nice, slouchy look to it. I'm 5'2, and it doesn't overwhelm my frame, MUCH smaller than the patent Campo. It conforms nicely to the body. I hadn't planned on using the long messenger-style strap since the double straps fit comfortably over my shoulder, but it looks nice both ways. It's one of my favorite bags.

  46. heather, thank you so much for the review! i am the same height as you. and now i definitely, totally want it. :)

  47. I think it is worthwhile to re-post the following. Honestly, I hate to see this blog revert back to the really mean days. If so, I am done with this blog. Hear me. D.O.N.E. :(

Dear J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados: Please feel free (and encouraged) to share your thoughts and opinions. :) However, please note that this is still a personal blog. So comments that are considered inappropriate (e.g. obscene, racist, homophobic, personal attacks, rude, and just plain mean) will be removed.

And now back to J.Crew! :)
