Happy Memorial Day! {celebrating with J.Crew?}

Have a great Memorial-Day weekend everyone! I know I am a bit early with this, but I still wish everyone a great Memorial Day and to travel safely. :)

Many of us will be attending various outdoor parties, parades, and traveling to visit family & friends throughout the weekend-- so it would be fun to get ideas of what to wear.

Depending on how the weather turns out, I plan on wearing the Embroidered-Pinwheel Smocked Dress (Item 93494; $118.00) from back in the day. The dress is super light and comfortable, while providing plenty of cover to hide any of my "concerns." ;)

What are you planning to wear this Memorial Day weekend? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. Yes, no shopping for me this weekend. (Too bad no online extra % of JCrew!) Sat. is horseback riding in my JCrew jeans and a late after neighborhood pool/ BBQ party--will be in a JCrew swimsuit and new paisley silk coverup. Sunday is a baseball game and Monday I hope to sit by the pool all day.

  2. I'm heading to the crewlet today to see if there are any extra sales going on. I'm planning a Crew-filled weekend in DC. I have NO idea what to pack from my last crewspree. I'm thinking starfish cinema shorts, boyfriend tee, starfish dress, frankie dress, and fiora cardigan. It would help if we had any kind of itinerary!

    Genny, sounds like you have a wonderful weekend planned! Enjoy!

  4. I'm going to New York City for the holiday, and one J. Crew item I'm definitely wearing is the silk vintage scarf J. Crew featured recently. It's a beautiful mix of cream, grey, and orange. I can wear it with white or navy, but it looks really great with the bluish-purple Jackie from about two years ago that I got on ebay.

  5. @ himmiefan: How do you wear your scarf? I found that scarf to be long and didn't know how to wear it. Beautiful print btw.

  6. Alexis, that dress is beautiful!
    Happy Memorial Day weekend!

    I'll be wearing my Tiny Vines Bandaged dress on Memorial Day. I will also be wearing the jersey dressy ruffle dress in caspian blue from last summer while I go shopping outdoors at the crewlet.

  7. Jcrewphd - it is rather long. Let's see if I can describe this, I start in the front wrapping the scarf around my neck - so front, cross in back, and bring both pieces to the front. In the front, I then tie the two pieces, left over right. On me, it looks best if I tie them right up at my neck and let the two pieces hang. I find the ends look best if I tie a knot in each. It looks more finished, more polished that way. So ultimately, I do a lot of wrapping and tieing which takes up the length.

  9. Happy Memorial Day weekend! I'll be having a baby free night with friends tomorrow, and was hoping to wear my Carson Poplin shorts in bright plum, but 1)not sure what to wear with it (need to shop after work today), and 2)it is actually supposed to be rainy and chilly tomorrow, SO they might not work. booooo.

    I'll wear my Jcrew belted bow bikini this weekend, too, since the pool is open this weekend! Hooray!

  11. Genny - I love the fiore cardigan because it's so versatile. The flowers are actually brighter IRL and match the coral color that a lot of their dresses came in this past spring (the chambray maxi, frankie dress, etc.). I'm not sure that it's worth the $110, but so far I don't regret buying it. The fit is really comfortable, too! Let me know how you like it once you get it!

  12. If you were disappointed to miss out on the contrast-stitch perfect shirt like I was, I found them in most sizes at my outlet. They look nearly identical to the retail version (without seeing them side by side), and they were on sale for$41.65. The outlet is Round Rock, TX, and their number is (512) 869-2096. The style # is 23870. HTH.
