Sneak Peek: What's to Come for Fall {& hopefully later this week!}

A big "thanks!" to Slastena (check out her "Early Fall Preview- Some Pretties.." post from her {amazing} About All and Nothing at All blog) who shared some more sneak peeks with us. {yey!} There is a little something for everyone in this batch of photos! Just click on any of the images to view them larger.
Word among the JCAs is that new arrivals are expected to hit brick & mortar (B&M) stores and online this week. Can't wait! :)

What are your thoughts? Has your opinion on the upcoming Fall line changed? Are you looking forward to the new arrivals from J.Crew?

  1. I am super loving the jacket and sparkly shorts - well, the entire outfit, actually - in that second photo.

Can't wait to see the new stuff IRL!

  2. Lauren, me too! The jacket and shorts are gorgeous.

I actually like the styling... so far at least. Maybe I have been trained to J.Crew's new styling that the images I see right now don't seem that bad. ;)

  3. As far as real life wearability goes for me, I only like the alpaca cardi and the messenger bag in the first photo. Sweating my bum off but still excited for fall merchandise!

  4. Lauren--That jacket is really cute!
I'm hoping that the summer length for skirts will be kept to a minimum for fall (photo 1 is giving me doubts!). There were so many cute skirts that I had to pass on because 21 inches is just too short on me.

  5. I love that first picture--all of it. I just hope that the skirt isn't too short (& can be worn a bit lower!). i'm 27 & i remember tucking my belt like that when I was in elementary school.

i don't really like the second picture--the model looks a bit fake or michael jacksonish. and even though i kind of like the sparkly shorts, not sure how often i would get to wear them!

  6. It was 102 here in Denver yesterday (breaking a 40-year-old record), and I am SO READY for fall!

  7. This is the kind of updated-preppy styling that gets me excited. I can see some of these pieces playing nice with what's already in my closet. Can't wait to see the rest of the catalog! Thanks for the sneak peek, Slastena and Alexis! :)

  8. Oh the styling looks so much nicer than the lookbook...huge relief! I am looking forward to fall and what comes on line later this week :). Thanks Alexis and Slastena!

  9. Mmmm, cozy wooly hoodie cardi. Much more stylish than the Snuggie I was contemplating adding to my upcoming cool weather wardrobe, and much more practical than spangled sequin ballon-leg Daisy Dukes!

  10. I flipped through AUG Bazaar mag and have to report that JCrew is quite in-line with the fashion trends at the moment (except I did not see sequins in the mag.) JCrew had a few item placements too, and it felt like they are working this angle (market) hard at the moment. To their credit, Bazaar did a great job featuring top line product mixed with staples from Gap, Banana Republic and JCrew to show off a "total" look. It was an interesting spread. JCrew prices are creeping up there, and I wonder how they are going to keep it "affordable" and "accessible" to their mall placement.

  11. The sparkly shorts and jacket combo have me at hello. *Sigh* Fall Season. It does it to me every time.

  12. love the "practical" styling of the first photo and LOVE the "night out" styling in the second. I may get a chance to visit Seattle later this week, just in time for the Fall roll out! I've heard that the downtown store is not the greatest, should I make the trek to the University district store instead?

  13. I was just at the mall of america store today and they said they will have the new fall inventory on Wednesday.

Also, if anyone lives nearby apparently this store is turning from a "top" store to a "premium" store. I'm not sure what the different terminology means, but it sounds good to me!

  14. RE: Closet Crisis
I almost always drive to the U Village store even though I can walk to the downtown store in about 20 minutes. I feel like the selection is definitely better. The only drawback is how absolutely unfriendly the staff is. The only person to ALWAYS smile at me and say hello, goodbye and thank you, is the security guard! I was there just yesterday and they already had a few fall items out, including a really great sleeveless top with an eyelet placket that came in 3 colors and one was a beautiful rust(?) color. Happy shopping :)

  15. I'm getting more excited for Fall items BUT it's so hot here and wouldn't be cool to wear lovely jackets/cardigans until late October...
I guess the *sequins* are still going strong with JC design team!

  16. I love the jacket in the first look and am just excited for fall in general. I hate summer. And summer clothes - and I'm excited I will be able to wear my fall acquisitions when I move to the UK. Except there is no JCrew over there. I've already warned my mother about the boxes she should expect getting delivered to her house!

  17. jcrewphd and others,

Yes, lets enjoy the beautiful summer:) weather and being toasty warm:) and just look forward to fall clothes.

I LOVE summer and all its clothes. Light, cool so easy to get dressed and out the door in a hurry. So, I gave away many of my winter items when we moved to a warmer climate this past fall. If I never saw any wool again I would be happy:)

    Amanda,

Wow, hate is such a strong word. We don't allow it in our house:) hee hee I lived in the UK for several years and still go back regularly for business.

  18. Nice to look at the fall items but I am still enjoying my recent summer purchases and time at the pool. No hurry for cooler temps--PLEASE--lots of Summer and Indian Summer to go:)

Agree with Genny. Love the ease of summer dressing and out the door--no coat or boots.

  19. I love the jacket in the second photo. The sequin shorts are cute but not realistic for where I live. Besides the frigid winter temps, no one would be wearing sequins outside of a holiday party and I have plenty of sparkly special-event clothing already.

Third photo look is easy enough to do with items I already own. Although I'd choose something other than the suede McAllister boots. Ones with a little heel, preferably.

Thanks for sharing Slastena and Alexis!

  20. @ sun in seattle: thanks for the tip. If there's one thing that I DETEST is bad CS. Think I'll just visit the downtown store and/or the crewlet instead. :P
