20% OFF women's apparel. Online Only. ENDS TODAY!

J.Crew is offering 20% off all full-priced Women's Apparel on orders of $150+ with promo code SHOPFALL. This promotion ends tonight!

I ended up not taking advantage of this promotion as I did some major damage with the Mickey/ Red/ White/ 25% off card in the past week. But hopefully some of you found some items at some amazing prices! :)

Will you take advantage of this latest promotion? If so, what items did you pick up?

  1. Aside from the fact there really isn't much I want from J. Crew this fall, and the few pieces I did want I just bought with the white card, there is no way I'd bite on this promo without free ship. The 20% off becomes 10% or even less depending where you live once you add shipping and applicable taxes. If your savings are 7-8% when all is said and done, it's not much of a promo.

  2. No thanks - with the taxes in NY and shipping charges it comes to about a 3% discount on a $150 order. When the new pieces come out some of the now full priced ones will be marked down by 20% or more.

  3. Why oh why can't this promo apply to all items? I have a cart full of half sale, half regular price items and I'm so confused as to whether I should remove my sale items and keep my fingers crossed that they don't sell out between now and the next sale promo or bite now... And as for my full price items, I'm convinced that at some point in the near future they will go on sale for less than they are now, but with this final sale nonsense and several of them being petites I need to be able to return if they don't fit to my liking... decisions, decisions!

  4. Sorry for the OT question but does anyone know if the B&M sweater promo ended? Haven't been in since last week.

  5. Dara: I'm pretty sure the sweater promo ended on Monday.

  6. As I feared. Thanks.

BTW I'm clearly slow today but no free shipping on the 20% off promo?? I was certain it would be applied once I hit $150 after discounts- and was foolishly wondering why everyone was complaining instead of padding their carts with items to return! ;)

Oh well, I just saved myself a bundle and JC lost out on my money.

  7. I never pay shipping, so if it's not part of the promo then I won't bite.

I'm more disappointed that there hasn't been a sale update in the last couple of days. Maybe tomorrow with the new arrivals.

  8. Has anyone seen the alpaca tirette sweater irl?

  9. What about the code BTR45K for free shipping through 10.18.10 on the JCA homepage? Can you use both codes on a single transaction or just one code?

  10. I've been trained well by Mickey. I will wait for a % off FS plus free ship before I buy anything else. There's nothing I want bad enough that I'd want to pay FP for. Cos that's what it works out to be with a mere 20% off when I still have to pay shipping.

  11. Ms. Jackson: I tried to apply the free shipping coupon, and it basically only allows you one. So you can either get free shipping or take 20% off and then make up for that with shipping costs... :(

  12. Didn't get a white card, still mad about it, there's very few I like in stores right now so newp, I spent my money on Halloween decorations and pumpkins instead. :-)

  13. Do you think J.Crew still have a decent amount of profits considering that they overcharge for shipping (relative to other vendors), have clothes that fall apart in the third wash and have that ridiculous final sale policy? I mean, do people continue buying their clothes because it looks pretty and are willing to put up with lousy discounts? I don't understand. Sorry, don't mean to be such a crummy old windbag here.

  14. Not shopping with the"mean girls"(see Gigi's blog). They're just trying to make those who didn't get the "red card" feel loved when in reality by the time you pay shipping it's not much of a savings. I may have born at night...but it wasn't last night. I'm still hurt I didn't get the "red card".

  15. Amanda,

I think it is already biting them in the but--if they were doing well with the fall line they would not have sent out the white 25% off cards....

  16. This sale has ZERO appeal to me. I love J Crew accessories, jewelry and crewcuts so the fact that it excludes all of these and does not include free shipping makes it a 'no go' for me. Not to mention there is very little on my wish list right now from J Crew. I have spent a lot at Boden & mini boden this season- Lots of nice sales, free shipping & returns and really well made pieces.

  17. I saw in the thread that there are new arrivals tomorrow--is that true??

  18. Decided to take advantage of the promo, but only because the item I wanted (Cashmere v-neck henley) was so expensive FP that I actually did end up saving $22.10, even after paying for shipping. Let's hope it fits me when it arrives!

On the other hand, I'm really hoping for some stellar new arrivals. There are way too many dissatisfied customers, and I wish Mickey would take responsibility for the lower-quality items, the crazy "randomized" promos, etc. Idk. Just my 2 cents.

  19. Twiga, I am with you on Boden. I just discovered it recently thanks to dinagideon's rave reviews and I absolutely love everything I've bought so far and there are more items on the way! My J.Crew spending is way, way down. Thankfully there are others like Boden offering beautiful well-made clothes.

  20. I will never pay shipping for JC. Sorry! And it makes it even worse that I SWEAR the offer included Free Shipping initially and then they changed it! NOT cool!

  21. I finally got the bonbon coat I've been wanting. Yes, I paid $17.50 for shipping but I saved $65.00 with the 20% off so that's good enough for me. I don't want to wait and then have it sell out in my size or preferred color. I may have to exchange for a different size/color after I try it on (I ended up going with spicy russet but if it's too orangey than will just exchange for black) but with all the back and forth, it could be thanksgiving before it's settled. Better start the dance now...

  22. Yeah, honestly I haven't been feeling much love for the Crew lately. The styles/quality/prices just aren't keeping my attention anymore. I used to be able to easily spend upwards of $500 monthly, but now I can barely find enough I want to place even one small order a month.
I have been buying tons of "vintage" J Crew on e-bay though. I just got a NWT skirt and some pants that were from '04. There is a notible difference in quality from then to what they are currently offering, at least for me. And even though the items are almost 7 years old, they're still completely on trend and cute. Yay for e-bay!

  23. I only picked up one suiting piece using this promo. But this was far less that usual.

I was really disappointed that "apparel" did not include socks or tights. Guess they are "accessories" LOL. This left me with a bad feeling and I promptly dumped most of the items in my cart -- except the one thing I really needed for work.

I think I have finally hit my tolerance level with them. Been struggling with way too many quality issues, customer service issues, and wacky promos this year. This is really just sad. Shopping with them use to be fun.
