J.Crew Email: FACTORY ONLINE IS BACK! (BUT JUST FOR THE WEEKEND).

"Thanks!" to many of you who shared the latest email from J.Crew this morning.

The email once again announces that J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for business. As the email and online site mentions, it is only available on the weekends.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory new arrivals? Do you like some of the latest offerings?

  1. I'm actually a little annoyed by this JCrew email. Has anyone noticed that most of these are items which were on the regular JCrew website and in stores months ago, marked down at lower prices? It looks to me that these are items they couldn't get rid of and are recycling them as "designed EXCLUSIVELY for Factory"–marked back up again! It's great for anyone who missed out on something they liked, but JCrew isn't fooling me by writing "Factory" in front of the original name.

  2. I still don't see the advantage of the factory online. There are better deals in the regular sale section, and the prices are much better in the actual factory stores. It looks as though almost everything is 40-50% off in the outlets this weekend according to the Tanger Outlet website:

I am definitely going to wait until I can make a trip to one of their outlet stores!

  3. I have been lusting after a Plaid Boyfriend shirt to wear with skinny jeans for Fall, so I was excited to see that there is a Factory Version which is pretty cute. Unfortunately, it's still $50 (plus the $100 I would probably spend to get free shipping). Le sigh.

  4. Same here, I'm annoyed with this email and I don't even bother to check them out.

  5. Has anyone tried the wool bungalow skirt (spelled bugalow on the factory site)? I like it and was wondering about sizing. No Crew or crewlet here, so I have to shop online exclusively. sigh.

  6. If you are interested in the factory Kelsey print top--Although they are going for $52.50 at the online Factory shop, I called my "local" store (3 hours away) and it was $19.99 minus 30%--less than $15! The girl on the phone was very gracious about doing a charge-ship for me.

  7. I agree with everyone not impressed. I checked it out for a moment the other weekend. Bistro skirt I bought last year is up here for a simliar price. This is nowhere close to prices in their outlets and frankly isn't that discounted. And thanks for being so transparent about producing a factory / outlet line - so is everything in the outlets really just super mass produced ultimately marked up junk?

  8. I hit the Crewlet today and got the organza sash tissue tank for $15.51 (50% off in-store promo + my student discount) and the Perkins vine ruffle cardigan for $27.98 (it was marked down to $39.99 and there was a 30% off clearance promo).

    Crazy stuff, J.Crew!

  10. Shhhh! Don't tell JCrew, but.... you can see the factory stuff during the week. They take down the link from the main site but you can still see the individual web pages and order items. The Factory version of the Deco skirt today (a Wednesday!). The link: http://www.jcrew.com/factory.jsp
