Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new HOLIDAY arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Probably not. I don't usually go to the mall on the weekend after Thanksgiving...way too hectic. I shop Black Friday online and have now completed my Christmas shopping except for stocking stuffers and gifts for my nieces and nephew. YAY!!!

  2. I agree shopping on black Friday sounds like a nightmare!

  3. Noo waay! There's nothing I want bad enough to endure the traffic surrounding the malls, plus all the people! Plus, although Towson said they were upgraded to a "Premium" store, I have yet to be able to find cashmere sweaters, purses or boots/shoes I've admired online.

  4. I almost never visit the retail store on Chicago's Michigan Ave., unless I have to return something.

Any particularly good Black Friday online shopping, ladies? So far I scored a pair of Sergio Rossi classic brown leather pumps for $99 from DSW.com and two pairs of boots for $153 at endless.com

  5. CyberMonday is what I am looking forward too.

No going out today--maybe to a few stand alone stores tomorrow for returns.

  6. Cyber Monday for me too! Way too much traffic around the mall and I hate all the crowds;) Good luck to all you Black Friday shoppers. I will be jealous of the fabulous deals you get for your trouble.

  7. I stopped by my local store this morning (which is actually not my preferred store, their sale section is pitiful but I didn't want to travel too far with lots to do on my list) and they have 20% off of outerwear in addition to the 25% off of purchases over $150. I wanted the ingenue coat which is catalogue/online only and they were nice enough to apply both discounts! It went down from $350 to $210. I don't feel as bad now skipping out on the sale this summer. I also ordered the a couple of other catalogue- only items. I just couldn't justify paying nearly $20 for shipping. Sales without free shipping are the pits!

I picked up two more of those wool felt skirts for $50 each plus the 25%. They are full price and $78 online. And I got two dream alexie sweaters that were sold out online. I'm really picky about sweater fabric, and these felt great when I tried them on! I definitely recommend them. I got the orange and purple.

  8. If my orders ever arrive (weather delays) I may need to go for returns but my local B&Ms rarely have the items I buy.

  9. I don't ever hit the mall on Black Friday. We're visiting Hoover Dam today! :-)

  10. Is there anything good in stores?? Maybe cyber Monday will be better??

  11. Best Buy has the 3 seasons of MadMen for 9.99 each (Black Friday special). Best black Friday deal for me and worth the line at the register. I thought I would mention it here because several JCAs are fan of the show.

  12. Gals....

I got the Holiday catalog today!! Lots of nice things coming, for me.. it is a FINALLY.... I had to wait for the end of the season to really like some items - SA said it will be in stores December 7. For you northern gals - BEAUTIFUL pieces.... some interesting shoes too!
    Go CREW!

  13. Update- I just checked my email confirmation and cc statement and I was actually only charged $157 for the ingenue coat! I don't know what happened but I'm not complaining. Definitely a great deal! :o)

  14. I went to the mall later in the day to check out a few things and make a return to Sephora. There were like 5 people in J.Crew. 25% off $150 is pathetic, IMO, especially when other stores have 30 or 40% off the whole store all day.

  15. visited the B&M store in my area today..not much at all that I was interested in..
Stopped by Loft and actually found a few cute tops and a cute cardi...40% off all..so it was still a good shopping day!!!

  16. Ema - I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the mad men deal! I just took care of two xmas gifts by buying the sets. Just in case anyone is curious, the 3 seasons are also 9.99 each at Amazon.

    Thank you again!

  17. OT, for those of us who can't afford JC's mongolian fur vest, I saw this tonight on Arden B's website. I think one of you may have mentioned it already, though. Sorry for the repeat if it's been mentioned. Would look cute with skinny jeans and the tall chalet boots.

  19. hi all. been a long time since i posted here. real life has taken some topsy turvy turns. but here i am:

went into jcrew... the store was almost empty. about 6 of us browsing. only 2 people bought anything in the half hour i was there. few stores down, gap was mobbed because of the 50% off sale. banana super packed also because of 40% off. downstairs old navy was a garish madhouse complete with hiphop blaring from rented megaspeakers set up right by the registers. ouch and ugh ON.
rather pathetic a BF offering on jcrew's part though, i agree.

tried the boulevard trench in black. it's a very heavy coat - and therefore bulky too. but boy, jcrew still hasn't fixed its fit issues, esp with coats. i'm normally a 6-8 in clothes and jcrew coats. sometimes a 10. tried a 14 in the coat today and it was still extremely tight across the shoulders, and the armholes don't sit high enough, coming half/third of the way down your breasts instead. so you can't really move your arms, plus the sleeves were short. they offered to order a tall size for me to try, but, that would a) be long and b) i didn't know how it would fit. who wants to sink $200+ (after 20% and 25% and tax) only to have to schlepp it back again? no thanks! and what size would I order in a tall? no idea given their fits. so i didn't order it.
went by the sale racks. found a long sleeve tee with ribbon roses. bought a size medium for 19.99. rather sheer. no one there to open the dressing room and i got tired of waiting so i tried it on my dress. might return it after trying at home.
also got a navy sequin tee (can't remember the jcrew names for these right now). sale priced at about 35bucks in a size small. but 35 bucks for a tee - albeit embellished - seems outrageous now, especially given the deals at other retailers right now. the tee was so jcrew though and i loved the idea of wearing it with a pair of pinstripe navy trousers, a grey cardigan and a glitter belt.

might pop in tomorrow and consider one of those felt skirts.

  20. interesting comments comparing JC and GAP/BR wonder how their sales will play out for the day, how can they compare? do they care.
    25% of $125 isn't competive

I went to Saks outlet shoe dept got deals there

  21. kater and mommydearest, I am happy that you got the same deal skipping the line. For some reason I like going to Best Buy on Black Friday and looking in the bins for deals so it wasn't a problem. My husband got a Blue-Ray DVD Player ;-).

  23. After getting 40% off at BR (they have some beautiful tops, sweaters and dresses) the 25% off $150 at JC just didn't appeal to me. The store I went to was pretty crowded and seemed well stocked, but nothing I had to have. I've had my fill of sequins! I did go to a JC outlet earlier this week where I got 2 long sleeve tees and the metallic sweater in silver for a total of about $70 after all the discounts.

  24. I went to the mall yesterday to make a couple returns. Yes, I'm crazy! anyway, one of the returns was at JC and the store was packed. Don't know how many were buying, as the line wasn't that long. I didn't have time to look at all, though b/c I had my kiddos w/me. Hoping to stop back in this week and take another peek.

  25. Hello I'm new here. I echo everyone here that the J Crew discount is pretty dismal compared to others. But I'm really smitten with the Miller moto boots, but I'll only get 'em if I can get free shipping on top of the $25% off. I mean, I'm not willing to pay shipping in case the boots don't fit and the stores don't carry them to at least feel the material.

Does anyone ever asked customer service to waive shipping fee? Any help is appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Flixchatter- why don't you pop into a b&m and use the red phone? They will honor the discount and give you free shipping. I totally understand wanting to see them before ordering though. A friend hasnthem and they looked to be a really nice leather and TTS. Good luck! :)

  27. Thanks jcrewlove. I did stopped by a retail store and asked if they're willing to waive the shipping and still honor the 25% discount but she said no. I might try a different store tomorrow and see. Glad to hear your friend likes the boots, I just have never bought J Crew footwear before so I'm not willing to risk ordering and pay $20 bucks shipping.

  28. oh gosh that is too bad! I wish all SAs would just honor the free shipping- its nothing off their back to make everyone happy. Sorry to hear that!

I completely agree and understand about the shipping. I absolutely hate paying shipping.

Sorry to hear this! Maybe do try customer service and see if you get someone nice!

  29. Stopped in today after my lovely husband suggested we pop in (which he never does!). Don't have to twist my arm! Anyway, we stopped into the Burlingame b&m on our way home from taking our son ice skating and lo and behold....the miller flat motorcycle boots in a size 9...just sitting there waiting to be taken home! The SA said they don't carry them usually but they were a return. I was soo excited that they fit, looked perfect and I was able to use the 25% discount. They were in my cart and I was planning on pulling the trigger today but was bummed they were back ordered til 12/13 and I'd have to pay shipping. Hurray! What a stroke of luck!

  31. I called my local JCrew today to see if they still carried the Puffer Lodge Jacket and the sales rep told me that it is on sale for $98. Online it displays $138! What a big price disparity!

  32. @jcrewlove – I went to a different store and spoke to a super nice associate. I didn't even have to explain further and she immediately went to the red phone and ordered the boots and asked the woman on the phone to waive the shipping for me, so yay! :D I will definitely keep going to her from now on.

If there's someone from Minneapolis area here, if you're going to Southdale, just ask for Leslie. What a classy lady!

@patsystone – glad to hear you like your Miller flat boots. I'm anxiously waiting for mine to arrive in about a week! :)
