J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Sequin Boy Tee - although the description says it's got a "slouchy boyfriend shape" I actually found it to be a little snug - or at least snugger than J Crew led me to believe. It's nice, with sequins all over, but if you want a looser fit I'd advise going up a size. The main issue is the chiffon trim, which doesn't have any "give", so the bottoms of the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt itself can feel tight.

  2. Anybody tried the Oxford ballet flats (36226) yet?

    ReplyDelete
  3. I have the oxford flats -- I used my rewards card. They fit TTS. I can wear 6.5 or 7 in their flats and 7 is fine for me -- I feel that is my "normal" size. They are actually comfortable and very cute!!

  7. I received the Maritime dress while I was on vacation. Ordered my regular size xs and it is huge in the body. If you are a petite I would recommend to size down but that might not work if you are taller because of the length (length was fine on me in the xs but I am 5'2"). I agree that if feels a little bit like a coverup or an oversized sweatshirt more than a dress. The substantial weight of the fabric and the long sleeves are a problem because it is clearly meant to be worn barelegs (and it is too heavy for summer). All in all I think that it isn't worth it the fp. I will post pics later today or tomorrow. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ema: I totally agree with you re: the maritime dress. I'd definitely be wearing it while the weather is warmer, so the thick fabric and longer sleeves would make me overheat! Plus, it was shapeless and belting does not look good on me. It will definitely be going back.

For anyone who's interested, I also received the Lyric dress in the beautiful Agate color. You can see pics of both dresses on my blog here.

  9. Susan - I ordered the Icon trench in burnt caramel in January and returned it. The fit and fabric were wonderful but the color was just awful on me. I really want black, which is no longer available. It is a really great coat though.

During the 40% off promo I got the silk scallopa cami in cobblestone. Nice thick silk that is not see-through, well cut cami that covers all bra straps (and had the clasps under the straps to hold them in place), nice detailing, hand wash. I got it for $17 - a steal for a nice classic piece. It does pop back occasionally.

  10. I tried on quite a bit of suiting over the weekend and was quite pleased.

Allura shift dress in superfine cotton, $168
The dress fits big so I had to size down but the overall shape was extremely flattering. For someone taller it might be too short, I'm 5'4 with short legs and it hit me about an 1" above my knee. Although beware that the superfine cotton has a habit of wrinkling very easily.

Nouvelle jacket in superfine cotton, $178
Again this runs big and I had to size down once and the shoulders were still slightly too large so I would need to have about a $30 alteration completed. The material felt good and the button placement was complimentary. Great piece to make as part of a suit or wear with jeans. The inside arms were completed with a light blue/white stripe fabric which looks great if you prefer to roll the cuffs slightly.

    Cropped Maggie trouser, $168
Again these ran big and I had to size down once but now after wearing them twice I think I should have sized down a total of two sizes. The only negative I have is that there are no belt loops which I might have a tailor add. The material looks great and doesn't wrinkle at all. Hits at my ankle, but would be shorter for taller gals. The fit is slim but not painted on and they float down nicely from the hips for a straight leg.

  11. Conster, thanks for the info on the oxford flats. I saw them in a store while on travel but my size wasn ot available to try on---so I have been cutrious every since. I really want them!

  12. Has anyone seen the Hooded cotton slicker, # 27894, or the Swing-out slicker, #39313, or the Matinee trench, IRL? The descriptions of the first two say not to save it for rainy days. Does this mean "Don't wear it on rainy days?" Or are the slickers in fact waterproofed or water-resistant? Copy on description of Matinee trench is "crafted in polished cotton twill," which I also don't understand, and would trust a JCA over CS. Especially since my word verification is "hustl" . TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  13. @Ivana - matinee trench being delivered to me today. :) Will update later.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi WFF - somebody posted last week that CS told them the matinee trench was not water-resistant. I would assume that by nature, slickers are water-resistant, but this is JC we're talking about, so I haven't a clue about those.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oops, I must've posted in the wrong thread--can anyone comment on the fit of the cropped houndstooth jacket? I keep hoping for a popback!

  16. The only thing I liked from the last rollout was the fleur du jour flats, so I used my rewards card on them. I ordered them in barely peach. I think they are pretty in person. They are the more traditional ballet flats, not with the elastic, and JC seems to have added just a touch more padding to the sole (though still no arch support). I have medium width feet and they weren't too narrow. I could see glue on the inside of the shoe on the side of the sole, but since it's not on the outside of the shoe I'm going to ignore it. Still slightly annoying considering they are touting the quality of their "made in italy" shoes right now.

  17. Lace Stripe Tissue Tee - I was so disappointed in the fit of this tee! The lace does not stretch or give at all - and since it goes across the tee at t he top of the chest, and under the arms - it is so uncomfortable. I ordered from the catalog since it was not instore here. Sadly, I will be returning this one. The shoulders also stood up in a funny way on me. I'd probably be able to size down, but the lace would make that impossible. Anyone else experience this??

    ReplyDelete
  18. Suzy
Oh I'm so disappointed to hear that about the lace stripe tee! That one has been on my wish list but I haven't heard much about it on the blogs. Do you mind if I ask ....I have "ample boobage" lol !Do you think that would make the fit worse?
    Thanks

  20. I'm going to review my Crewlet experience yesterday in hopes that it will be helpful for someone out there!

Was so nice to have the whole store to myself, wheee! Nearly everything was on some sort of promo, either a promo price or 20% or 20% off all ___________. I was in there for over an hour trying on pants and such.

They had perfect tanks at 40% off so they worked out to about $10 a pop -- I picked up several, including 2 in White Ash, replacements for the similar one my washing machine ate a few weeks ago, booo. :/ They also had one in my color, Light Berry (yay) and I got a cute seafoam-colored one to wear with my seafoam treasures necklace this spring/summer.

Someone mentioned last week that the Crewlet shoes look very cheap and ITA, I'm not even sure I'd spend $20 on them. $79.99 is just too much, even if there is an extra % off.

Also, agree with Audreybella, I saw the potpourri Ames dress revisited in a tank style and also in the twyla tank ... the dress was very unflattering and bizarrely designed, imo.

There were a few tees and a jacket I would have bought but that the online price would be much cheaper, so no thanks.

I ended up spending a boatload, but some of it may be going back. I was less than thrilled to discover I am no officially between sizes in jeans / shorts / pants! Argh! So if I don't lose about 5 lbs., the 2 pr of matchstick jeans I bought have to go back.

Jackies on sale for 40% off but I didn't bite. I tend to wear my wool cardis more.

Got a bright hydrangea suckered gingham shirt for spring/summer, I just love 'em! They were 40% off so only about $30.

I picked up something called an 'everyday cardigan' in my beloved LB colorway ... it's one of those flowy open-front jobbies like the Always cardi. Had to size down to a Small, too billowy in the back in a Med. I wasn't thrilled with paying $45 for it, but since it was mostly wool and my fave color, I caved. Discovered this morning that SA put it at the bottom of the bag so it's all smushed and wrinkled, urgh!

Soooooo....overall I was not astounded by the deals. I could see myself maybe taking a trip out there twice a year but that's about it.

My verification word is "foakabl." Well allrighty then!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh forgot to add they had a VERY thin sale section and I was able to pick up a 'warm gold' metallic pencil skirt for about $20 after extra 30% off sale merch -- it feels paper-thin, so I thought it would be good for hot weather. Very glad I didn't pay more for it. I'd have felt cheated.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Everything I ordered was on promo + 40% off, but is now back up to full price. Nice.

First, the silk pocket tank - someone mentioned this one last week I think - it runs HUGE. Holy cow. It's pretty, but I'd say order down at least one size, maybe two. It's the same silk as the vintage camis (which I'm not seeing on the site anymore - those spaghetti strap ones) so it's machine washable. The wave crest color is really pretty, but a little bluer than it looks on my screen.

(Gigi - here's that jeans review for you.) I also ordered the downtown skinnies in the clear sky wash. I'm in between 27 and 28 in JC pants that are sized this way - usually 27 in matchstick and 28 in toothpick - but a consistent 4 in pants with that sizing. Also 4 in skirts, sometimes could go smaller but usually go up for length. Anyway, according to the measurements CS gave me, I was right in between so I ordered both 27 and 28. 28's fit perfectly. I couldn't even get the 27s on. Anyway, nice lightweight denim, soft, perfect for spring/summer, nice skinny but not too skintight fit. I really like them. But sheesh the sizing is such a nightmare.

I also ordered a few Factory items - suckered gingham shirt in dusty shale - very cute, slightly big for me in small, but tried on XS in store and it was a little too small on me. So soft and comfy though. Also the deco-dot shift dress in the grey - again, should be 4 by measurements but 2 fit much better. Cute dress, but not worth the $ for me so I took it back. White denim hipslung jeans - somehow I missed the bootcut leg description the first time around, but they fit well in my "normal" 27. Nice quality, nice price, but not what I wanted so still went back.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but hth someone! :)

  23. ajr-
Thanks so much for the review on the Downtown skinnies! I've been debating ordering them, but didn't know if I should get my Matchstick size (27) or Toothpick size (28). We must almost be the same size, so your review really helps me decide. I'm usually a 2 in pencil skirts and such, so I'm still am hesitant. Do you think they'll stretch some with wear?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just got the Stripe Button-Back Tee, 37810, in the color dark slate ivory. It runs big. I generally wear a medium in fitted JC tops and small in non-fitted. I ordered a small and it is very roomy and boxy. Not form fitting at all but I think it will be cute this summer with little shorts or a skirt.

Also got the Laramie purse, 32586, in color Warm Fig back when that color was on sale with the 40% off. LOVE it! Love that it is a cross-body purse and that my hands are still free to grab at my kids!

    ReplyDelete
  25. egyptomaniac - No problem! I don't think they'll stretch too much. Honestly, I haven't noticed that JC's jeans stretch much at all compared to jeans from some other retailers (I have Gap, BR, and Lucky mostly). And I really couldn't get the 27s on - it's not that they were uncomfortable, I really couldn't get them on. That being said, the reason for my being a 4 is my bum and hips - I'm fairly generously endowed in that area for my size, so that's what kept me from getting them on. The 28s are nicely fitted everywhere but the waist, and the waist gaps about as much as the toothpicks do on me. The jeans aren't as tight everywhere else though - toothpicks are pretty much legging jeans on me but with less give. The downtown skinnies are really soft and comfy compared to my toothpick pants. So I would say it depends on how you're shaped. If you want to try the 27s I ordered, I'd be happy to send them to you. I got them for like $50, not final sale. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  26. ajr-Thanks for offering, but I'll bet I need the 28s then. I think I'm shaped the same way you are:) I'd like to think have the bigger quads and glutes from running. But from how you described the skinnies, they sound like just what I'm looking for. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Agree about the stripe button-back tee. It runs very big, IMO. I am almost always a XS and needed to size down to a XXS. Afraid a lot of people are going to be sized out, which is too bad because it's so cute. Hoping for a promo on knits soon because I'd love to buy a couple!

    ReplyDelete
  28. egypto - sure! I think the 28s will work for you then. Good to know we're the same size - I'll keep an eye out for your reviews. :) Sadly, my "glutes and quads" are most definitely not from running, but I like them anyway. :)

Also, I just found your blog - love the bubble necklace DIY! I might have to try that one, or suggest it to my sister. Since she already does that stuff, she probably has most of the supplies already!

    ReplyDelete
  29. ajr- Thanks! With the next promo the skinnies will be mine! LOL the bubble necklaces--I've become a little obsessed with making one in every color now. Maybe its from sniffing the crafting glue! :)

  30. I tried on the Tulle fineline cami several days ago. It's beautiful, very nicely made. Fits tts for their non-knit tops, and, as a nice plus, it's not too long for short people. I think the solid color ones should be gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  31. i would also agree the superfine cotton suting is running big this year. i got the nouvelle jacket and allura dress both in a 6 instead of an 8.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I bought the Bevin blouse a while back, and I know it's gotten mixed reviews.... I love it! I posted a pic on my blog, and have a little valentine day surprise for my JCA friends there as well!

    ReplyDelete
  33. And now, the coveted Matinee Trench review:

I ordered this in my regular outwear/jacket size. It fits TTS but is somewhat wide/boxy through the body. I think it fits more loosely thru the body than my Icon Trench. I *love* the navy blue and the generous hood. The hardware is very sturdy and is silver on the navy. The pockets flap and snap closed. It hits me at low hip/high thigh (covers my butt). I believe the fabric is polished twill, despite what one of the SA's told another JCA. I dropped some water on it to see what would happen, and it beaded up. The look of the coat definitely reads "polished rain coat" to me. The body is not lined, and the sleeves are lined in a satiny poly, I believe. The sleeves are a bit shorter than my Icon Trench but still an appropriate length for me (and I am very tall). I give this item 4 stars out of 5 - my only reason for not giving it 5 is the boxy effect, but keep in mind I tried it on with only a thin cotton perfect fit tank underneath, and I would certainly be wearing something more than that when wearing IRL. I think, even at FP, this is a good buy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Now, for some more reviews:
-Marled lace-up hoodie, item 38158. This is a lightweight but not thin pullover top that fits TTS/a bit wide through the torso. I love how the lace up makes it more polished than a regular hoodie pullover. I bought it to recreate the outfit on p. 6 of the Feb. 2011 catalog. It hits me at hip but I felt it was not as long in the torso as some of my other J. Crew items of late (perfect fit tees and such).

-French terry zip-front hoodie, item 36105: I got this in the deep coral, which color is one of the only reasons I bought this. I *love* the color, which is a vibrant coral and reads "bright guava" to me. It runs big, probably one size big - body is long, sleeves are long, and it fits loose all over. The material is thinner than the material of the marled lace-up hoodie that I reviewed above. I personally don't plan to size down because then I don't need to worry about shrinkage.

-Corsa tote, item 37122: got this in the brownstone. The leather is fabulous - soft and smooshy. I like the zip front pocket and how it zips across the top, which is the main reason I purchased this). It does remind me of a vintage motorcycle jacket. My only complaint, which I knew I'd have in advance, is that the straps are not long enough to go over my shoulder. I'll probably keep it anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lighthouse cardigan, item 34746: Per other JCA reviews, I ordered this one size up but also ordered my regular size to compare. Regular size fits fine, but to achieve the look on the model on the web photo, you'll need to order one size up. I do not find my regular size to be too tight in the arms, but it would be tough to get long sleeves in there. The weave is a bit loose so I believe this fabric is delicate, but the cotton/silk blend feels dreamy, all smooth and great on the skin. I got white ash, which reads pinky-oyster to me, just like another JCA. If I keep this, I will keep the larger size.

-Candy plaid perfect shirt, item 36370: I got this in the sweet moss. Colors are muted. I like the hints of mauve with the green. I think it fits TTS/slightly small compared to the tartan boy shirt from Holiday 2010. I also think the fabric is a bit thinner than the tartan boy shirt. This is not worth FP and will probably go back.

-Saturday sweater, item 37605: I ordered the marled pulp alabaster in my regular sweater size. Fit is TTS/slightly loose (as intended, I believe), and arms are nice and long (but not too long). Color is on the citron side of yellow - seems to be popular for spring. The linen-merino blend feels cool on my skin. It does have a slubby effect. I will probably keep this but I'd prefer having gotten it on sale.

  36. thanks starfish for great review

  37. I'll add my 2 cents to the downtown skinny talk. I am a 28 in their newer toothpick (29 when they first came out). I tried on the lighter toothpick and the downtown skinny and the 28's were too small in the toothpick and the 29's were too big in the downtown skinnies. Tried the dt skinnies in 28 and loved them. I really think you have to try on to know for sure. I've tried the same pant on in the same size and will have one pair fit better than others. It's a pain and I hate it, but that's how it goes for me at JC. Anyway, I will be getting the dt skinnies next time they're on promo - love them!

  38. Finally received my order placed on 2/1...the Collection striped linen henley tank style #39051($68) is NOT black and white the white is pale gray! So this is going back. It fits TTS and is very light weight but not worth FP. Still on the hunt for the perfect black/white striped tank. : )

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was excited by the black and khaki striped linen-silk sailor sweater that was on backorder until march online. I saw it in the store last week and was sorely disappointed, the knit is see through requiring a tank underneath and the weight isn't nice enough to make nice cuffs on the 3/4 sleeves like you see in the catalog. Boo hoo!

  40. thanx ★fish for great reviews! have been dying to know abt matinée trench.

ultimate word verification: angst! no joke, have copied and will paste as a post on http://thewhiningdiner.blogspot.com for the curious.

  41. TJ - sorry my answer is late - hope you see it!
I also have that same issue. The shirt would have fit fine, but for your info, the lace runs above the "boobage" and then across a bit under - near waist. Since the lace was stiffer it just made the shirt uncomfortable to move in. I'm usually not as fussy as most, but this is going back! If you get to try it, I'd be curious what you think as well! And the sleeves seemed smaller than the shoulders they were attached to, if that makes any sense. The seam from neck to sleeve kind of stood up (not off my shoulder - just UP, from my shoulder. Worst tee I've ever tried on, really. SOOO disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Floral Tulle Skirt — This fits TTS. If you're in between sizes, I would suggest picking the lower size. It's pretty short, but you could wear it to work with tights or leggings. Going up in size doesn't really add anything in length...it's just wider. I'm between a 4 and a 6, and the 6 looked too wide/poofy on me.

I've also gotten ridiculous numbers of compliments on this (after wearing it for only one day)...so I highly suggest you buy it!

  43. Received the Super 120's Bell skirt and the Oxford scout chinos. I took a 4 in both, which is my regular size in JC bottoms. The Bell skirt runs tts, maybe a smidge small. The ruffle is cute, not too much, and lengthens a bit at the back. The fabric is very lightweight, definitely spring/summer. The Scouts are same in size as the ones from last year. The light blue is a shade brighter than I expected, and I would probably rather it be a little paler but they're cute and go with a number of things I have so I'm keeping them.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well I received a massive shipment early last week so this review is a bit late. However, I absolutely loved everything!

    1. Item 32423 Cashmere sparks cardigan - Absolutely beautiful. Subtle sparkle, a bit slouchy looking when left unbuttoned. So comfortable, but dressy looking.

    2. 29170 Trouser jean in classic rinse wash: They needed to be washed and dried before warn because they were so stiff. They did fit true to size and flattering.

    3. 3131 Crosstown peep toes: AMAZING. These are by far my favorite J Crew shoes so far. I am a big fan of comfort and these are just that. So classy looking, but can definitely be sassed up with the correct outfit.

    4. 35078 Crystal dynamite earrings: I was hoping these wouldn't be as heavy as my other crystal earring, but they are. They are absolutely better looking in person, but cannot be worn for much longer than 3-4 hours.

  45. Tried on a few items at the Barton Creek store yesterday:

Herringbone school boy jacket 37852 in Aged Driftwood, size 2: I loved this! Soft and a great neutral color that would go with anything. The fabric is kind of rumples looking but I liked the look. The 2 fit well but with a little extra fabric on the sides under the arms but they did not have a 0 for me to try on. Since it fit across the shoulders, I would probably stick with a 2 or try ordering it in a petite size. The sleeves, in the 2, were slim but with enough room to roll back at the cuffs or push up for a casual look. I usually wear a 0 in shirts and an XS in knits (5'4", 115 lbs, small frame but long arms).Put this on my wish list and may end up buying at FP if it looks like they are going fast.

Stripe button back tee, item # 37810, charcoal stripe, XS. Did not like the way this fit on me. Kind of short and boxy and the sleeves stuck out funny. I think the XXS small would fit better in the body but it would probably be too short. Too juvenile looking for someone my age, too! Could be really cute on someone else!

Sailor sweater, item 37905, XS: I tried on both the Seaweed/Ivory and the Black/Linen. The black version seemed to be a little heavier than the Seaweed but i think you could get away without a cami with either color. I actually really liked this one and would have a hard time choosing between the colors. I also like the button on the sleeves that held the rolled back hem. Wishlisted as I thought $88 was too much for this. I have a similar top from F21 (navy and white) that was about $15 and another from Loft that was much less! If it goes on sale, I will probably buy one.

Jackie cardi 29350 in Cerise in a S: Bought this one with my rewards card! I go between a small and XS in the Jackies....the XS is a little short on me. It's a VERY bright color but looks terrific with blues, black, white. I tried it on with the Indian Voile boyshirt in indigo and loved it.

Indian voile boy shirt, item 35905, in indigo , size 0. Runs TTS to a little oversized. This is a fairly sheer fabric, but so soft and light and perfect for layering. Waiting for a sale!

  46. Hi - wondering about the Leggy Denim jeans. I suppose they are J Crew's 'jeggings'... which I'm not really attracted to as an idea, but I am in need of new skinny black jeans and possibly blues as well, to wear tucked inside boots.

Can anyone comment on the sizing or the jeans in general? I wear size 26 toothpick cords and tried 26 toothpick jeans (didn't really like them though, probably because of the wash I took in the dressing room) The waist is a little gappy with the 26 but I'd be afraid of sausage casing my thighs in a 25... what size should I try in the leggy denim?

Thanks if anyone can give any input!

  47. Review with pictures of the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in citron here! Love it!

  48. @woodley park-zoo, I know you asked for a review of the JC leggy denim jeans, but thought I'd share my Madewell find if you're in the market for comfortable skinny jeans.

I tried on the Madewell high riser jeans and fell in love. I was skeptical of high-rise jeans, fearing a mom jean but the skinny leg & dark wash rid me of that concern. Soft comfy but substantial fabric (feels more like a legging than denim) but holds you in like a girdle (in a good way!). Sits at bellybutton w/no waist-gap or feeling like I have to constantly hike up my pants, no muffin top. Back rise of jean is high enough I can sit on floor legs criss-crossed without worry. TTS on me though PS said some customers like to size up because of higher rise. Wish they'd offer this in white denim for summer.

I later tried the equivalent JC high-waisted skinny jean which wasn't as comfortable or flattering w/its extra fabric on knee/thigh area whereas the Madewell pair was nicely fitted but not sausage-casing tight.

It may be worth trying the Madewell version since you have free shipping both ways and at $98, is a bit less than JC's $125. Hope that helps.

  50. Connor -- thank you for that! I actually am lucky enough to live where there IS a Madewell store but I haven't gone yet... maybe going to try these is in order! Although now that I think of it, I will be in NY soon and probably try some Uniqlo jeans for this need, as I love Uniqlo and it's sooooooo affordable too...

  51. @woodley, Heard great things about Uniqlo too; wish there were more US stores. Like the trend toward higher rises, esp on skinny jeans so interested in what you end up with.

  52. I might be in the minority here but I loved the Maritime dress. I have a boyish figure, 5’2”/105lbs so I went with the XXS and it fit perfect sans belt, not baggy at all. Loved the blue color of the stripes! It is short but not scandalous short, even I can get away with wearing it at work since my work environment is very casual. Adding a belt does make it too short for comfort though. The side zippers do not bother me at all; I actually happen to think they make the dress unique, less boring. I wouldn’t wear it in the summer because of the thick material and longer sleeves, as someone mentioned earlier, but I think it is perfect for spring. Right now we have spring-like weather in southern California (mid-70s), and I’m planning on wearing it with my Tretorn sneakers (super casual), red suede Tory Burch flats or my Jeffrey Campbell nude wedges. It also looks cute with a utility jacket or jean jacket for the cool mornings. For me it was worth it full price because I loved it and I can wear it right away, but for those on the fence maybe should wait for a sale.

  54. woodley park-zoo, I have the leggy denim and I went with my normal toothpick size. They are not leggins, just very skinny-legged pants. The black are not denim, but a really soft twill material.

My ps called me today to let me know that there are lots of markdowns in the b&m. He mentioned the striped button-back tee - can't believe that this is already marked down as it was popular here. Also all jeans are $20 off, so the downtown skinny are coming home with me this weekend. Let's see, he mentioned some tees (maybe painter?), the cardi with the silk pocket, an open cardi, the navy hooded jacket, and a green hooded jacket with fleece (don't remember that one at all). Anyway, I'm sure there's more marked down, but I won't be there until Saturday.

  55. Hi math teacher - I think the green jacket with the fleece is the rainy day utility jacket.

  56. I went to pick up the Space Dye Open Cardigan, now on sale, at my J.Crew today. (Love the cardigan, so soft!) They had some new arrivals and noticed they had more Cosabella in store - the Ceylon soft bra and hotpant in all colors. Excited to see them in person - they are very nice! The neon coral is a great color (I wouldn't call it neon though).

  57. cortney_joy,

Does the space-dyed open cardi fit TTS? Been eyeing that one as well. Thanks!

  58. jackie, i usually wear a medium, but debated between the small or medium on this one. the sleeves run long, and since it has no closure, i could get away with the small. i really could have worn either size.

  60. I received the Corsa tote and love it! The leather is softer than I thought it would be.

Question: Has anyone ordered the invitation clutch? I ordered it in satin (wanted leather, but satin was on sale) and I am concerned about the material for how much I think I might use the bag and how long I want it to last. What have you found out? Thanks!

  61. I got the J. Crew High Waisted Skinny Jeans in Adore Me wash. Most skinny jeans are too low-rise, and I like pants to hold in the "muffin top," lol. On the site, these look very form-fitting and almost stretchy, with no hint of slouch. (I hate it when pants stretch out after wearing them!) I got a size 30 which fits great; for reference, I am 5'7", 145 lbs. and normally wear an 8 or 10 in clothes. (Tried the 29 first; they were definitely too small in the waist--couldn't even button them.) After wearing these jeans all day, they have only stretched out just the tiniest bit behind my thighs, not enough to notice, really. They are slim and lean and they seem to be just the right width at the ankle; slim enough to wear with flats, but just right with heels too (they're not so skinny at the bottom that they "bunch up" on top of your heels.) I recommend these!
