"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)

This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. But NO free shipping, which brings the item I want to 10% off only. Still too pricey.

  6. Yesterday I received the Factory two-pocket chambray shirt that I ordered last weekend. While I thought it was a bit expensive, there were some good reviews on this blog so I decided to order it...the free shipping didn't hurt either! The shirt came turned inside out and rolled up in a semi-elaborate way. I'm assuming it's done on purpose to keep it looking worn...right? O:-)
I ordered a small and even though it's a tad long on me (I am a petite after all!), I really like the overall fit (XS would have been too tight across the chest). The shirt looks great with the sleeves rolled up (I love how it has button-up tabs to secure the sleeves). Since the weather is perfect for it (50s and 60s), I am wearing it today with a pair of white corduroy pants and a navy blue t-shirt underneath. I can see this looking good with many of my t-shirts and tank tops. I'm thinking that it might be a bit too heavy for the summer though (maybe as a cover-up?).

  7. I received the Crosstown Tee yesterday ...finally! It it SUPER cute! Definitely need to wear something underneath, but the fabric is so soft and the cut is very nice. I took an XXS in this, and I normally purchase XS. With the style, I preferred a closer fit. The fabric is called "Fine spun" and it is 50% cotton and 50% modal. Just hope I don't get any of those dreaded holes!

Also love the chain belt in butterscotch. I got the S/M and it is great because with the chain in the middle, you can wear the belt at the waist and just tuck in the extra, or at your natural hips. Total keeper!! It might have sold out on-line .. I don't see it anymore in regular price, but if you see it in stores, give it a try!

Also received the Forever Cotton Cardigan in melon. What a beautiful color! It is brighter in person than on-line, which I love! Very thin material though and needs to be worn open as it is quite long and the buttons don't look great closed. Again, hope I don't fall victim to any holes.

    HTHs!

  8. Bendistraw, yeah the chambray shirts at the crewlet B&M were all wrinkled, too. That outfit sounds so cute! It is warm here today too, I might bust it out this afternoon. Glad you like it, I was one of the JCAs who posted a good review. It's great for a crewlet item.

I love that recently I bought some crewlet items, incl. above mentioned chambray shirt, and they are all awesome. They are quality and were bought at a reasonable price. Can't wait to bust out my stained glass sanur dress!

  9. I got the Aurora tweed pencil skirt today - what a pretty, pretty skirt! The fit is nice, and the fabric is something special - I think it is going to end up being a favorite!

I also received my second vintage cotton cowlneck tee - I love the fit of this top, very flattering on me.

So I'm very happy with my most recent Jcrew purchases.

  11. Started working with an online PS and boy I love it! My PS is super nice and efficient - she was able to find an item for me and accommodate all of my request to make sure I'm comfortable with the purchase. I highlyrecommend it!

  12. I have had an ongoing problem with my catalogs being sent to my address, but the wrong person (my fiance, who does not live with me) for more than six months. After waiting patiently after each time I contacted CS about it, I finally snapped and wrote to M.D.'s office. There was an immediate response, along with a little gift, which I appreciated. So, I am hoping that the problem has been rectified. For what it's worth, I do think he takes his job very seriously and I like that.
