Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I will be taking back a ton of bathing suits today. I am also curious to see if my B&M is doing the 40% off like some of the others :) Off topic, does anyone know when we should be receiving our rewards cards? My balance went basically down to zero a week or so ago.

  2. Small update in the sale section this morning with a few new styles added (including the Casbah silk blouse if anyone is interested) and some new reductions. But still Final Sale, so I am not biting. Debating whether to order a pair of ballet flats with the free ship that is on until the end of today but feeling really shopped out.

Just a reminder to everyone that today is the last day of my J. Crew-themed giveaway - click here for details on how to enter.

  3. The bargains in-store are really good with the additional 40% off if you are willing to root through the piles of tired knits ... I've picked up a few "basics" and summer dresses this week.

NO final sale online for me, because I have very bad luck with getting damaged and used/worn merch at this point in the season ...

  4. But of course ... always skulking those sale racks, you know me! :P Will report back if I find anything worthy of doing so. Happy Friday to all!

  5. Is 40% off sale still going on in store? And can anyone report on the in store price of the white cropped matchsticks? TIA!

  6. Silk shantung cafe capris already in the sale section... along with the floral swing skirt marked down further to 75% off. What is up with that!?

  7. does anyone know if the 3" chino shorts are on sale in store? and how much if they are? i want to pick up some new colors and i have the free shipping code for the credit card, but if they're cheaper in store, i'll make the trek over there so i have the shorts right away.

and does anyone know if the credit card rewards have been mailed out?

  8. J.CrewJD,

The floral swing skirt has a small waist (sits right at the waist) and is VERY full and poofy. That is one of the reasons I am sure it has been marked down so drastically.

I had to size up and of course it made it even more full but I like the fabric and found some fall sweaters I have and a blouse that go well with it. Not a fabric I would wear in the hot summer.

  9. Quite a sizable update this morning -- over 1300 item -- which we know always happens once the 30% off is over.

  10. Miss JR: On Monday I picked up the 3" chino shorts for $29.99, but with in-store 30% off it went to $20.99. There were lots of "basic" colors, not so many of the unique ones. I felt lucky getting the modern red. If you're lucky, you may get 40% off at this point. The extra percentage makes it final sale and it says so on my receipt.

No visits this weekend but I feel pretty satisfied with small in-store finds from the last week. :)

  11. In case you missed it yesterday, new cuts at the top of this post.

Not sure if I will trek in. I recvd an incorrect item, but may just wait till next week to return it.

  12. I'll probably stop in at some point. The Center City Philly store seems to be updating their sale section. At least more than my old store in Jersey did! Any body have any predictions on whether or not another percentage off is coming up?

  13. It was still 30% off in VEGAS store on Wed. But, I was told that additional markdowns had been made. I was lucky and got the new cafe capri in the light pink for 17.50 with my stacked discounts (educator/student and extra 30). One of the SA's was boxing up a bunch of clothes but I don't know where they were going.

  14. No, I won't be stopping by because I blew my fall budget this morning at the Nordstrom's Anniversary sale! :) I know I won't wear any of it until October if I'm lucky (being in AZ), but I couldn't pass up the deals! SUCH GOOD DEALS!!

I think I'm on a permanent JCrew hiatius until the Fall items arrive. I've got my eye on a blazer, but that will probably be about it for me. Or at least that is what I'm telling myself. :)

  15. I went earlier in the week to try to spend my gift card and nothing appealed to me. It is always so picked over.

  16. My B&M had an additional 30% off, but no crazy prices for super-duper deals. I did pick up the chambray stripe tee and a perfect tee for a little less than $30 total.

My store also had the 3" chino shorts for $29.99 with an extra 30% off.

  17. Lake Grove NY has additional 40% off. I scored a 3/4 sleeve perfect shirt for $21.50 and a vertical stripe black/white one for $25.50.

There was a pencil skirt that looks like a Verona tweed in size 0 for $30 after discount but it was too shop worn for me. It had threads sticking out everywhere, and the store did not offer me an additional discount.

  18. Seems like all the Bay Area Stores are only doing 30% off. I visited the SF store today, and just like the Walnut Creek location, the pickings were slim.

Lots more to choose from online right now, in comparison. I'll be in Va next week, and will check out what they have to offer.

  19. I just posted some pics of factory skirts (paisley, Dauphine, surf tweed) and Marin dress here.

  20. I popped into the Raleigh store yesterday and sure enough, they were doing 40% off sale. It was a very surreal sight! ;) I only bought 2 dinky things, a flashlight necklace ($24.99 pre-discount) and a striped perfect tank ($9.99 pre-discount). There were a lot of sad-looking tees and many items hovered on the very edges of the sizing spectrum without much in between. I may try to jump out to Durham this weekend to see what's left.

  21. OMG you guys. I *just* saw the fall catalog -- my PS gave me a sneak peek, but I couldn't take it home. Um, LOVE. We were all sitting there squealing in happiness. My favorites:
-- Viridian green double-serge wool pencil skirt (also camel and purple)
-- Tweed pencil skirt with browns I think and blue scattered in it
    -- Flame orange schoolboy blazer
-- Gorgeous green and blue wool blazers
-- leopard pumps and pretty lower-heeled leather pumps

    Um, yeah, I'm in trouble.

  22. Oops, forgot, there also was a double serge skirt in the flame color!

  23. Shopwithm, thank you for sharing those tidbits from your sneak peek of the fall catalog!! The image of you and other ladies squealing in mutual delight definitely put a smile on my face. Very much looking forward to hearing what you and other JCAs have to say about it once it's made available. Thank you again!

  24. Oh, excited for the catalog! I ran in to make returns. Only 30 off in my store and it was very slim pickings. It had been bursting at the seams last week, so I'm wondering if they shipped stuff out? Also, received a couple items I caved and bought on FS. I'll review them next week!

  25. ShopwithM, you are killing me! That sounds FANTASTIC! Do you know when the catalogs will be available to take home??

    ReplyDelete
  26. shopwithm, that sounds sooo exciting! I can't wait to see the catalogue.

I know this is not the reviews post, but I did want to report back on my sale order with the Isla Suede Platforms. I ordered my usual size 9 in the sandstone color. I am usually a 9 in J.Crew pumps and a 9.5 in their peep-toes. The 9 is the right length for my foot but the vamp portion squeezes my pinky toe a bit. So I will be taking them to a cobbler to have them stretched slightly.

The material is nice, soft suede and the shoe is very comfortable to walk in. Much more so than some of the other heels I own! The platform really helps the heel feel lower. Sometimes platforms make me teeter but these did not. (I am used to high heels, so take that with a grain of salt.)

The sole unfortunately has little to no grip. The shoes were fine on pavement and concrete floors but as soon as I went to a store with slick polished floors I was sliding around. J.Crew, please put grips on the bottoms of your soles! Other than that, I love these shoes and am quite happy with the purchase.

  27. Oh I am beyond excited to hear about the catalog. Will it be mailed out this next week does anyone think?

My verification word is hyper :)

  28. Thanks, Shopwithm!!! Happy Anniversary to you! My online ps sent me pictures of the double serge pencil skirts. I'm in trouble too!!!

  29. 40% off sale in Bellevue and Seattle J.Crew.

  30. Got my skinny flip flops in the mail. JCrew flip flops are not the high quality they used to be. If I could return them I would. Thank goodness I only ordered one pair! Very flimsy straps and the footbed is not as well made. Good I bought them $7.99-30% off and free ship. Their flip flops used to be my go to ones; not any more. I do have a very good stash from years past so won't need to buy any for a while. Glad I over bought when I did!

  31. originalGenny, tuck those aside for pedis! That's what I do w/my not so good flip flops. I keep a pair in my trunk and then I have them if I decide to get a pedicure.

  32. Made some returns yesterday. Nothing caught my eye really. The store I visited (Greensboro NC) was 40% off sale and I went through the whole sale section and nothing in my size or if it was it was extremely oversized (I.e. Long perfect shirt in linen). They were putting out the new jewelry (royal blue theme). Some look plastic-liked and others ok. All overpriced. Only ended up with the looking glass locket ($20 after sale and student discounts) and the navy small St Kitts necklace.

  33. Hi Roxy,

Thanks so much for the review of the Isla platforms! I think I will bite, against my better judgement, if they go additional % off.

    Hi Shopwithm,
Happy Anniversary! Thanks for sharing all the great Fall info. I cannot wait! I buy tons of pencil skirts for work.

OT......The Collection Linen shirtdress is in the Sale section for 149.99 but there is only a size 2. I would say it runs big. I returned mine. Too pricey for me. I would say if you are a size 4 it will fit but you will likely need a cami under it to prevent showing off the "girls". HTHs

My verify word is "lader". Maybe I need to finish painting the living room! UGH!

  34. Deals are unbelievable if your stores have inventory... picked up perfect linen shirts for $25.00, crushed glitter sandals $60.00.

Some FALL items arrived in the store... but OMG is it hot in Miami and they have cashmere out! The colors are gorgeous! You northern gals are going to love the cashmere colors.

Looks like Minnies are coming back in fall colors... they had flame, camel, deep purple, dark blue. Some new T shirts in the fall colors.

I bought a really pretty necklace. The receipt calls it "Horn necklace" - It is black with horn links... copy of a Prada. They would not let me see the August catalog... but said it would be out Thursday in their store.

OT - Saks is having an amazing sale... Items are between 70% - 80% off. Still a few hundred, but you are getting top made items at reasonable prices. If you stick to classic items, you'll have them for seasons to come!

  35. Shekster -- Thank you so much for mentioning you saw the Italian Linen Shirtdress is on sale...I used the WWFIFY service to find me one just last week and paid full price. I'm on the phone with CS right now to get a price adjustement.
