J.Crew Is Going To Russia {with love}

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Janice, who let us know about a post over at J.Crew's 770 Blog.

It is mentioned (via animated image) that the upcoming September catalog from J.Crew will be set in Russia! In the "Sneak Peek: What's to Come this Fall {thanks Slastena!}" post, CH in London identified the location as St Petersburg.

I l-o-v-e it when J.Crew has destination catalogs. They are always so gorgeous to look at. I actually went on a trip to Lisbon, Portugal after seeing one of J.Crew's catalog set there. (No joke either!)

What are your thoughts on the upcoming catalog? Are you looking forward to an on-location catalog? Are you looking forward to the upcoming Collection?

  1. I already got a copy of the September catalog! It is in st. petersburg Russia and it is absolutely incredible. Both for J.crew & Crewcuts. The new collection is very nice too!

  5. I also love the location catalogs. They are by far my favorites.

  6. Maybe I'm the lone dissenter here, but it annoys me that they'd do a very expensive catalog shoot when their quality is nosediving. My suspicion is that they financed that shoot by doing things like leaving pants unlined, cheaping out on fabrics, etc. I will show my displeasure by purchasing less overall from them this season, and returning anything that's poor quality.

  7. I love the destination catalogs, too, but Amy makes a stellar point. ATM I'd rather see them focus on improving quality, styles and CS (like the awful i-store 30-day return with no other options)

  8. Yay! Another destination catalog! LOVE that!

    KimChicSisters, did you get your copy from a B&M? That's probably the only way I'll get my hands on one before 2012. :)

  10. I love their destination catalogs! My PS invited me to a private shopping event tomorrow to view the new collection, so I'll be taking some pictures and hopefully snagging a catalog to scan! (I'll also have my 3-year-old in tow, so I can't promise as many pics as I'd normally take. :)

  14. Great. Nothing like an all-American catalog celebrating a recently communist country with an expensive pictorial. Whatever happened to Paris, London and Rome?? Or for that matter, Lucerne or Vienna or...well, just about anywhere else!

  15. I love the destination catalogs too! Can't wait to see it. Since they are no longer posting catalogs online, and no matter how many times I ask, they won't send me a catalog, I guess I'll have to wait to pick one up in the store.... Why spend so much money on a catalog then not send it to customers who request it? I don't get it.

  16. Going to formerly Communist Russia doesn't mean they're supporting Communism, nor would going to a currently Communist country, such as China, where I'm from (which I would thoroughly applaud).

    Btw, website update! And what's this . . . $8.95 flat rate shipping on all orders under $175?? I'll stop into a B&M tomorrow and if they have the catalog, I'll scan it.
