  1. My hacking jacket in herringbone {heather dark grape} just arrived and it's exquisite!

The violet color is even richer than the web photo (which has dark shadows), with that deep lush grape-juice color that purple-crushers adore but rarely find.

The tailoring is feminine fitted, but menswear-detailed, with leather buttons, a silk inside pocket with button flap, and well-crafted lining (charcoal), including a cream striped lining in the sleeves that looks wonderful when rolled up. Double outside pockets on one side, with excellent lie-flat tailoring. True to size for me, I wear an 8 jacket and ordered an 8.

Already suspecting that it'll be a signature piece for me, so my inner-hoarder is tempted to buy a second one, since I fear I'll never see this violet shade again!

  2. I received my camel cashmere henley and acorn wool pencil skirt and LOVE both. Classic and beautiful. The leather buttons on the henley are just a special touch. (My only concern is how buttoning and unbuttoning them will affec it). Highly recommend both.

  3. Just received my order yesterday.

The Perfect Fit Flower Tank in warm mustard is so pretty! I was a bit skeptical buying this tank. The last few petal tanks I have checked out at J.Crew were quite flimsy and really lacking in quality. This tank has a bit of "weight" to it, definitely not a tissue tank which I am pleased about. I think it will hold its shape well. The petals are very pretty and not frayed as some in the past have been and the warm mustard color is a gorgeous deep golden color. I love it! Might end up buying the navy as well!

The Piped Glitter belt in metallic silver is adorable! I spritzed it with hair spray to keep the glitter on but I love it!!! Definitely adds a pop to khakis, trousers, and over sweaters!

I also received the light Khaki Matinee Trench! I love it! Perfect for my upcoming NY trip but I am thinking I should have sized down from my normal 2 to a 0. I will be calling the local B&M stores today to see if they have a size 0 on-hand to try on.

  4. Just received my order today some basic pieces and I am impressed with the quality. I ordered the Around Town Sweatshirt (48081)the description says it is cut slimmer so I took my regular size meduim I was a small in the Coastline Pullover and I could have sized down in this as well if I wanted a fitted look. It is not baggy and it cut smaller than the Spring sweatshirts.

The neck is doubled taped and there are no loose threads and the seams are secure. So a big improvement over previous knit tops.

  6. I wanted to second Professor's rave about the grape Hacking Jacket.

In fact, I'm very happy with all the items in my fall order--simple pieces, smashing colors, "classic with a twist"--the old J. Crew.
