Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. J.Crew's online store is out of the Tippi sweater in Bright Dahlia is out for every size but Large. The San Diego, CA store had many in different sizes for this color. HTH! :)

  2. No, I've done enough damage for now online! :)

  3. Would love any petite, but busty JCAs to check out the vintage tweed jacket and let me know if it is really boxy... I am dying to buy one, but in the spring, I tried the rialto on and I looked like it had cut me off at the pass!

And I will do a little damage with my gift from Mickey online!

  4. I'm curious to know what the stores have in stock. Online is sold out of so many sizes. Any reports welcome. TIA :>

  5. No shopping for me this weekend. I'm trying to be good. :)

OT. The Mirabel pencil skirt is FINALLY on sale on the website. I just posted an outfit on my blog with it this morning here.

  6. I will head to my JC tomorrow assuming we don't have a tropical storm. Hope everyone stays safe this weekend!

  7. Stay safe everyone. No shopping for me, we are prepping for the storm.

  8. I went yesterday. There is a small sale section again, mostly mystery knits and a few pairs of shorts.

I think there are so many lovely things in this rollout but few sizes left in Tippis, Pencil Skirts, Wool Cafe Capris, Blythe etc. in the best colors. Lake Forest IL did have several Pencils in Viridian Green if anyone is looking.

  9. I have returns, but don't plan to purchase. I will of course, take a peek though!

  10. Not me -- I spent way too much during final sale this week! Plus, the hurricane is coming, eeek. :( Hope all are safe this weekend!

  11. I was in the store at Copley in Boston yesterday afternoon and they had quite a decent sale section, including a bit of jewelry and sandals. For those of you that know the store--the sale section right now is 1 wall and a table (sometimes the whole back corner: 3 walls and 2 tables is all sale).

  12. Does anyone know if J Crew will still honor the 30% off final sale promo that expired last night if I beg and plead? Something just caught my eye, but I'm not willing to pay the current price.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The mirabel skirt is pretty and only 3 sizes left. One being mine but I won't buy it on final sale. Gotta stick to my guns! Too pricey still to take a chance on final sale.

  14. As FFM noted on FB this morning, the icon trench is on sale for $100 off! For anyone who has been considering buying it, I encourage you to do so. I just pulled mine out of the coat closet and put it on, and it makes me feel like a million bucks. I do wish I'd got it in light khaki (I believe mine is Stone) and someday i hope to buy the short one as well, but wow, $198 is a pretty good price for such a classic item!

As an aside, my last 2 MUSTSHOP orders are both on the truck for delivery today. Perhaps when they arrive I will lay all my purchases out on the floor and roll in them, lol. I'm not sure I can bear so much prettiness all in one shot.

  16. I also posted a PSA about the Icon Trench earlier this morning on my blog. As Elaine said, it really is a great deal at the current sale price.

  17. I have a free shipping code (no minimum) that I won't be using this weekend for Land's End Canvas, if anyone would like it:

    Promo Code: UNTUCKED
    PIN: 1145

    Expires tomorrow 8/27.

  18. I went in yesterday (South Coast plaza, CA) to make some online returns that fit poorly and try on some new items. I think the SA was annoyed since I didn't buy but just try on stuff. Hey, I don't like the in-store 30-days return window and would rather order online. I'll post some reviews later.
The sale section was only one wall: lots of random tees and nothing of interest. I did see lace blouson dresses in black, size 00 6, 8, 10, 12. Ikat Caroline dresses in 10, 12. Star printed gauzy scarfs in navy, but didn't check price.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would still like to find the in-store only navy blue sailboat scarf, so if anyone sees it please let me know. TIA! :)

  20. FFM - how is the sizing on the Icon trench? I kind of want it but I think it was on a better promo last winter.
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  21. A: I purchased mine at the end of 2010 and sized up one to a size 4 (I normally wear a size 2 in fitted blazers at J.Crew). I can wear a light layer underneath, but nothing too thick. I would say to size up at least one size. You can also use the online chat feature or call J.Crew to ask for actual garment measurements. HTH! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. FFM - Thank You! I always love getting the advice of someone who has the item:)

    ReplyDelete
  23. A: You're welcome and I also have an update for you: I just tried my Icon Trench on over the Shrunken Fisherman sweater and it feels very comfortable. I still have plenty of movement and could possibly layer a tee, tissue t-neck, or button down under the sweater and still feel comfortable in the Icon Trench.

    ReplyDelete
  24. FFM - Thanks! It is so tempting. I am trying to be good as I placed a big order with my card holder discount yesterday.
    This trench looks lovely though.
    Decisions, decisions.

  25. Re: icon trench sizing, I agree to size up. I had it in my normal coat/blazer size of 6 and it was too snug.

I will not be visiting J.Crew this weekend, except maybe a quick trip to factory... they've been getting lots of random retail items lately. Always fun to see what they have.

  26. jcrewphd, did you happen to notice how much the ikat caroline dress costs in stores? Thanks!

  27. Hi! I just noticed the matinee trench has been marked down to $125, and it's not even final sale!

  28. Some of the latest cuts at the top of this post.

  29. Re: the Icon Trench.... I'm 5'2", and normally wear a petite size due to sleeve length. Has any other petite JCA tried this on and comment on fit? Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I bought my true size in the Icon trench, but only because I have zero plans to ever wear it over anything that has any heft to it. I also wanted it to be a tad more fitted on me, as I need all the help I can get, lol.

I am SO READY for fall, or at least a bit of a cool-down so I can bust out my fisherman sweater! I love it so but probably won't be able to wear it until October. :(

I trolled through my closet the other day looking at all my favorite wool jackets, double-serge skirts, cashmere and merino sweaters & coats from wintertime final sale and the Born Crown boots I picked up on sale in January. Ahhhhhh. All my favorite things. Looking forward to cooler temps.

    ReplyDelete
  31. FYI (original) Genny, I had to size up in the Mirabel skirt (2 to 4). If you didn't have a chance to try it in store, maybe call CS for measurements, since it is FS as you've said. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Boo! The Iconic Trench is "sold out" in my size. I am tempted to get the Matinee trench in navy but I'm not sure how if I would like it IRL. It's not final sale (whoopee!). Are there any reviews?

I saw some IRL photos from blogger Sequins and Stripes here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ok first things first. Has anyone else ever asked the Crew if they would change their Final Sale policy to returns for store credit only?

Also Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. I just found the best thing ever for searching the Weekly Exchange: Ctrl + F. Seriously, on any internet page click CTRL + F and a little magical bar appears prompting you to type a word any word, and after typing the word you are searching for it immediately scrolls the page to that word and any other matches on the page. Go, go try right now it's amazing. This will help with any kind of browsing. Awesome! Pass it on, I can't believe I didn't know about this.

    ReplyDelete
  34. jinks, i am ROFL at your delight about discovering CTRL+F!

i had a lot of very nerdy friends and coworkers way back when, so i've been doing that forever. it's very handy!

but i still love to watch people discover it. a gal in my office sent an email out to our team a few weeks ago when she realized you could insert hyperlinks in Word docs (I didn't have the heart to tell her that you could hit CTRL+K to do it too)....

  35. No shopping for me this weekend, it's still about 90 degrees in the South and I can't justify buying fall stuff at full price when I know they will all be marked down when it's finally time to wear them.

I did have a final sale fail - I bought the Maddie pant in my regular size (6) and they were huge. Ridiculous. I e-mailed and they are allowing a return. Very thankful for an understanding CS associate. Also - $298 was the original price???! I can't imagine someone paying that much for an oversized pair of khakis.

  36. iroar, re Matinee Trench, there are a lot of JCAs who love it. I preordered it when it first appeared and found that it weighed a ton, on an excited me ripping open pkg and putting it on over very little. I wanted it for travel, this was before the last round of weight limits but I couldn't imagine wearing that around all day and still having the energy to go out to eat at night. just me, fwiw.

    ReplyDelete
  37. (original)Genny, I agree with ABC -- size up for a better fit in the Mirabel skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It seems the free shipping over $175 doesn't apply to canadian orders...sigh...I have to call them also, since my magical `Mickey` code doesn't work!

I was thrilled to pick up the caramel icon trench in the spring when it went on sale- I'm fairly petite, not-quite-5'4, with small shoulders, and the 0 is snug (it stretched out a little from the first day's wear and now feels perfect, though I don't like loose coats). I'd say the sizing in the shoulders and arms is similar to the donegal schoolboy blazer, which I also have in 0. Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  39. LaurenPhD: I don't exactly recall the price since they were not my size. I think they were $79.99 or $89.99. Sorry...

    ReplyDelete
  40. wellfedfred et all--how well lined is the martinee trench? i'm confused on it being "heavy" but paritally lined. I am tempted but the pix from the link from "sequin and stripes" makes the coat look flimsy. any further notes? ;>

Knowing I had ordered the Mirabel at 6am this morning was the only thing that kept me going thru this long day. Hope it fits; the measurements I got for a P2 seem to be similar to my one skirt from last year size 0 (the embroidered Ikat which fits perfect. )

staying tuned for comments re: martinee trench.

  41. Savvy shopper: I have the icon in a 0 (my normal size is 0 or 00) and I am petite, 5'4" but consider myself to have long or um if there is a "typical" arm length - that is to say, petite blazers from JCrew are often too short in the arm for me. The size 0 icon has arms on the longer end IMO. The length however of the whole coat is great I think for petites, and the belt placement was perfect for me (I have a slightly long torso). Hope that helps!

    And LOL on the CTRL+F!!!

  42. Hi pathos - search "Matinee Trench" on the right side of the JCA main page. I think there's been at least a whole post dedicated to it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. iroar & pathos, re matinee trench, I thought in looking at the matinee trench before I pre-ordered that it would be almost weightless, and it wasn't. THey must have had a very strong fan going during the catalog shoot. Also it's not waterproof, which struck me as kind of pointless for what I wanted it for. Finally while the hood was big enough not to mess hair, it didn't have any way of fastening it so it would stay on the head or stay closed.

  45. I was very tempted by the khaki Icon trench but I held firm. I have the Icon trench in black, and that's enough for me. According to the measurements from CS, the Icon trench runs small, so I sized up one size from my regular dress size, and it fits perfectly. There's room for a lightweight sweater underneath, but that's about it. The length is good too (hits just above the knee) and I am 5'4".

  46. Just got back from my local B&M. I finally got to try on a bunch of new pieces that I've been dying to see in person. I tried on the no.2 pencil in vibrant flame, leopard, and viridian green. And although it was hard to choose, green came home with me. It is beautiful and like others here have stated, seems to fit better this year. I wasn't in love with the longer length at first but I am actually finding it very becoming now.
Also tried the Hacking Jacket in charcoal. I definitely did not think it was worth $200, as the quality didn't seem as nice as I expected. And ditto to everyone else who said the collar is extremely scratchy on the back of your neck. That was a pass for me.
Tried on the Blythe blouse in extravagant green and also felt this piece was overpriced. I will wait this one out for when it hits sale. I was a little disappointed in the shade of this green and felt a bit misled by the advertising. From the way it looks in the catalog, I expected a light, more vibrant teal. The green is closer to real green imo.
To hurry things along, tippi sweater was a pass b/c although I liked the fit, didn't feel it was anything so special. I did however pick up the Poppy King lipstick and LOVE! I'm not a big lipstick person but sometimes when I have a special event to go to I would like a color that really pops without looking making me look like I'm trying too hard or like a mental patient. I have dark hair and this lipstick looks great in contrast. It's a very classic, pretty color and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. Also picked up a pretty pendant necklace and I'm not sure of the name, nor can I find it on the website. Anyway, I am so happy with my new arrivals and it was a nice distraction from the hurricane that is headed straight for NY in the next 24 hours. Hope everyone is prepared and safe if you are expecting Irene as well =)

Quick question: has anyone here purchased either one of the new cambridge turtleneck sweaters? Curious about the new fabric blend as well as if the fit is similar to last years version. TIA!

  49. WMM,

  50. Went back to the Yorkdale store today - just FYI for Toronto-area JCAs, they now have the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Vibrant Flame, though they seem to be completely sold out of the Viridian Green and the brown Plaid. Still no Jazzy Purple, Heather Acorn or Spicy Gold to be found. They seem to be moving stock extremely quickly, especially in smaller sizes.

I tried on the Liquid Silk Skirt (they have both colours, I tried the navy) and it is lovely. TTS for me, I went with my usual skirt size (I occasionally size up) because I wanted it to sit right on the smallest part of my waist. Fit is similar to the Jardin Skirt, perhaps a tiny bit longer in length. The length was perfect on me at 5'9, just at the bottom of my kneecap and slightly longer in the back. I might have to go back for this one...

  51. Thanks SE Mom - I am seriously looking at the nay version of that jacket with the matching skirt - can't wait to hear!

  52. I went a little crazy at the final sale - which I am mad at myself for doing. I was able to build on some fall colors, but still...final sale is risky. I am trying the blue/rust thing with some pieces I ordered - one of Jenna's tips. Wish I could go to an actual store.

  57. Just chiming in with some thoughts on J.Crew's fall offerings. I am traveling in Europe so my perspective is as a North American with fresh eyes (haven't been here for almost a year). Everywhere I look I see signs advertising a "return to the classics" so of course it was not that J.Crew finally realized that classics are what many people want, every line is doing classics this season. I also see the same colors: camel, purple, fuschia, orange, some lovely greens and lots of burgundy and cobalt blue.

I don't read fashion magazines and have just started shopping for fall so it's probably not news to a lot of other JCAs but I thought it was worth mentioning. If you like the idea of some of J.Crew's line but the execution somehow doesn't work for you, it's quite likely you won't have to look too far to find similar items. Wish I could take photos in the stores here but it's definitely verboten.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I definitely won't be shopping this weekend. I did want to chime in on the Matinee Trench. I have it in the light khaki, size 2. I am usually a 2 in J.Crew coats or an XS. I did try a size 0, which I liked the fitted look better but the sleeves were a bit too short (I am 5'06" with a short torso for reference). I love the trench. Personally, I didn't find it to be too heavy but I also have the Stadium Trench and don't find that too heavy to wear either. I plan to get a lot of use out of the Matinee Trench this fall, especially on my October trip to New York City. HTH!

  64. Just back from my b&m - it was so empty in downtown Charleston, SC, compared to a normal Saturday! Just windy here. Anyway, I tried on a new short sleeve navy polka dot silk blouse, that has an exposed zip - I like it, but won't pay $98, especially since silk and school don't mix well. I also tried on and loved the vintage cotton stripe baseball tee in gray - so super soft and stretchy! Very few left, which is why I bought one. The only other new item I saw was the cowlneck poncho, which looked cute but is not my style. Sale section was still pretty small. I did see the stripe popover is on sale for 49.99 - didn't it just come out?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh and for those of you wanting a veridian green pencil skirt which is an October ship date for many sizes online, call Charleston as they had several. I didn't check sizes since I tried it on last visit, but there were lots there.

  68. Well, it took a while but I finally got burnt just a wee bit by final sale. I learned the hard way that sizing on swimwear has changed drastically this year. Swimwear no longer runs small. I would say it now runs true to size BUT is cut much more generously in the bust area!

I have a feeling it's a deliberate change due to customer complaints about too-small sizing. For me, means at least 2 of the swimsuits I bought will have to be resold.

Also, I got 2 Islet paisley bottoms instead of a top and a bottom, so of course they allowed a return and are shipping out a replacement, honoring the sale price and shipping for free. My Cassis one-piece was defective, which made me so sad bec it's a gorgeous suit. Somehow the right shoulder strap got twisted during manufacturing so the nude-colored lining shows. :( it was also too big, so they allowed me to get my replacement in a 10, which I appreciated. Last but not least the Sandswept paisley halter was just FUBAR and the stitching was also unraveling! It was also too big, Argh. So they're sending a replacement one size smaller.

The phone rep did mention they had changed their swimwear sizing quite a bit this year ... Funny, I don't recall seeing that noted in any communications with customers . :(

Aside from those flubs, I'm very happy with everything else and will share some info on Monday. We have no power (still) and I just typed all this on my iPhone, lol.

  71. casual crew, they didn't have a size downf or me to try. I'm guessing I could have just because of the stretch, but my normal size was fine. It was not as baggy on me as it looks on the model - size up if you want that look. If you want it to fit like a perfect fit tee, then I'd size down. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  72. I forgot to mention that my ps told me this morning to wait till I see the October roll out. He claims it's better than September, and I liked a lot of that rollout!

    ReplyDelete
  73. math teacher: Thank-you, I ordered my usual tee size just in case the small is too tight. The model's picture is so deceptive.

If October is better than September rollout my bank account is in trouble and I was supposed to be cutting back.

    ReplyDelete
  74. casual crew, that's what I told him! I bought a car this year and I just can't spend as much as I used to (nor do I really NEED more clothes). I still haven't bought everything I LOVED from this rollout!

PS - hope the tee fits - it's so comfy that I wanted to leave it on except for the fact that it's 90 degrees here. :)

  75. Well, I'll have to go back to my b&m b/c I got the Cocoon Cardigan in my usual size and it is HUMONGOUS. I mean, ridiculously so. Glad I didn't get it on FS. Warning to those who are thinking about getting it: size down!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Can anyone tell me how the sizing is on the toothpick cords. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. mini, I took the same size as last year, which is one size down from my toothpick jean size. I wear a 4 in their city fit pants and I take a 28 in the toothpick cords. HTH

  78. Echoing what Jruby18 said about the Cocoon cardigan. I happen to love this cardigan and the boyfriend fit (I'm a big fan of Merino wool too). I went down to an XS and it's perfectly slouchy and looks like it's my husband's. I probably could have easily fit an XXS but I like the way the XS fits. But for sure: size way down!

  80. I dropped in at the Bellevue WA store for a return this afternoon. Store was busy, music way too loud (I'm getting old, LOL).

They had several pairs of the cafe capri in the bright dahlia and a couple of viridian green pencil skirts.

Very small sale section. Also had a wall of JC weekend tees/knit pants. I didn't look too carefully as I shop strictly at Target for that kind of thing!

  81. Heather: I did get your email...THANK YOU! :)

  82. I am thinking of going for the Mona pumps, but have never bought J.Crew shoes. Ordering online- any insights on sizing/fit? What about color? Thinking of Atlantic Blue, but color looks different on screen. Are they a pretty blue? I don't like glowing or neon.

  83. I went to Aventura J Crew yesterday. They had a few double serge skirts in viridian green and bright flame. The sale section had a few shorts and tees.

  84. I was at my B&M store yesterday and they have new roll outs earlier than anyone else, so got to see some of new upcomming October items and let me tell you there are even more gorgeous things coming our way. More tweed in black/grey and white combo withh little chains accents. New silk camis sleevless with stand up ruffle collors in black/white polka dot (love!), vibrant flame. Newer collors for betsy sweater with rhine stone detailing. New stripe crewneck sweaters in orange/white and grey/white with botton roll-up sleeves. I might be in the store again tomorrow so will try to take pics. Will keep everyone posted!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks Jcrewobsession, appreciate all the info! Pics would be great!

Hi ebe,I would size up one-half size at least in the Mona pumps. I wish they had a plattform. I returned mine since I found them too uncomfy to be practical for my job. I have not seen the atlantic blue.

  86. Can anybody comment on the fit of the Hutton trousers in Italian wool???

    Thanks!

  87. Stopped in to make return (Question: Do J.Crew employees go through seminar to learn how to exclaim “Ooh, how pretty/I love this/This is soooo nice” whenever they’re handed a return? Because that is the reaction I always get... as if they’re hoping to change my mind, lol).

I returned the tweed jacket because it was just too boxy. I’m 5’3” and busty, and did not like how the jacket fit on me. The bottom of the placket gaped open - really needed some kind of closure there. Not sure why there’s a vent in back, either, since it’s a cropped jacket. It’s a very thick material - I just couldn’t picture myself wearing it indoors without boiling, even with just a camisole underneath. The buttons, IMO, looked cheap - “vintage inspired” by what, I’d like to know.... But I would have just re-done the buttons myself if I’d liked it otherwise, but the bottom line = bulky & boxy, not a look towards which I aspire ....

    ReplyDelete
  88. Barbabelle I appreciate your review of the tweed jacket, the navy has been on my list but I am wary now. I am also 5"4" and not flat-chested either, so jackets sometimes don't lie flat on me. It sounds like this might be one of those, esp if the fabric has some heft.

Sigh, I do love tweedy little jackets.

  89. Just a word of warning to anyone who might be interested in purchasing the Double Face Cashmere Popover Blazer. I loved this item and decided to splurge since it was such a classic piece and would be in my wardrobe for a long time. I am XS and ordered that size.

It arrived and it was gorgeous and the quality was excellent. HOWEVER, it must have been pinned on the model because it is HUGE!!! I was hoping that it was just improperly sized. I contacted customer service and they confirmed that it runs very large. I am 5'7" and have long arms. I have never had an item be too long in the arm for me, but the "bracelet" length sleeves fell past my knuckles. The elbow patches began at the end of my elbows.

I am so disappointed, but had to return it. There are going to be many people sized out of this one, especially in arm length.

Sorry, I know this should be in the review section, but I wanted to warn anyone who might be interested to call for measurements before ordering.

I am interested in hearing if anyone else has purchased this or tried it in a store and had the same experience. I guess I am still holding onto a hope that mine was incorrectly sized.

  90. Barbabell,

Thank you for the review! You have confirmed my worst fears on the tweed jacket for my petite/busy frame. I will pass I guess and sadly, too as I did love it!

  91. Hi, Wendy...

I saved and saved for the popover and I went with the small after receiving the measurements. It definitely does run bigger than I anticipated. I was thinking I should just return and buy the extra-small, but after putting some time and energy into it, I realized that only the shoulders were a bit big, but the rest of the shape was just fine.

However, it is RARE for me to ever find anything that is long enough for my arms, so I was pleasantly surprised by the arm length, which takes this popover for me definitely into real outerwear (I had been a bit concerned for bracelet sleeves, honestly).

I do agree that if you want to buy it (if it comes available), definitely do not size up, and if you are not planning on layering, you may even want to size down. And if you have shorter arms, you will for sure have to either tailor or roll the sleeves (which you can do, and I will do as long as the weather cooperates).

I have a real review planned, *eventually*, but time is limited for this mom of toddlers...lol.

In the positive category: this garment is exceedingly soft and the shape is definitely more classic than last year's cocoon popover.

Hope that helps someone out there, I figure on a piece like this the more info the better!

  92. SilverLining- not surprised to hear about the cocoon cardi.  I saw it at the b&m and it was really wide across the bust.  At first glance the fabric reminded me of the Portland cardi, so I took a closer look and saw it was crazy wide up top.  I didn't try it on.

  93. Crewgurl-I have the Cambridge cable turtleneck sweater, aka 'Love Ernie Turtleneck', in deep peri.  It is a classic looking sweater and the deep peri is a very pretty blue.  It looks light blue on my monitor, which I don't always care for, but this color is a bit brighter and deep blue - very pretty like a hydrangea blue.

Fabric content:  45% viscose, 23% nylon, 17% wool, 15% angora rabbit hair. It is soft, fluffy, sheds (shake it a bit and the fabric flies like a wool carpet), quite itchy, but feels like a warm hug all the way to my chin.  The fabric weave is very nice.

Fits tts.  (I think the model has sized down for the product photo.)  It hits just past my hips.  I like the length.  If I stretch my arms horizontally from my shoulders it does not ride up.  If I extend my arms up, toward the ceiling, I need to pull it back down to it's original position on my hips.  (I'm 5'7", short waisted.) The body shows my bust shape but is not too tight.  It is loose in the waist but I wouldn't say it's boxy.  (If you're thin or very skinny, you may think the body is too loose.) The sleeves hit to end of wrist/start of hand, which I like.  The turtleneck takes up the full length of my neck.

I think the color and warm, cozy style has me.  I would have to wear it with a long sleeve tee underneath, which it can accommodate in my regular size small.

  95. Barbabelle,

Oh, I agree. Why do they always say that when I make returns too...I usually just show the the defect and it shuts them right up:) LOL.

  96. Shekster - thanks for the advice. I have also worried that the heel might be too much for work. I should just say "no"(but I am still thinking about them.)

  98. OT: I just received an email from Nordstrom announcing Free Shipping and Free Returns on their website everyday now (just like L.L. Bean).

  99. FFM, I jumped for joy when I received that Nordstrom e-mail. Sooo dangerous for my bank account, though. The nearest Nordstrom store 300 miles away so I will definitely be taking advantage of this! So excited!

  100. J.CrewJD: I know! It is really going to be dangerous for me too! There is always something in my cart on the Nordstrom website but the $200 minimum for free shipping always holds me back from purchasing...that won't be the case now!

I am really excited to see this though, especially that they are even including free returns. That makes it even more appealing to shop there! :)

  101. Ok, if anyone is interested I uploaded some pics from my B&M that had some new items which I haven't seen in the catalog yet. My store always gets the newest rollout before others. Its posted on jcrewobsession.blogspot.com
