Edith Miller + J.Crew {in stores!}

Edith A. Miller Arrives at J.Crew Today

Stripes aren’t in so much as they’re everywhere. Whether you’re preppy, a hipster, a banker or a kid chances are there’s a striped something—probably tee—in your closet. But there are some brands who do classics better than others, so when two of the best team up, in this case J.Crew and Edith A. Miller, boring turns newsworthy.

The two brands launch their collaboration in stores today, and online next week on October 14th. “We are so lucky to have our relationship with our ’1906′ mill,” said Nancy Gibson, one half of Edith A. Miller. “Both the 1906 era and American style give us huge amounts of inspiration each season: we think of a spirited, sporty, independent girl from the turn of the century who likes her classic stripes and how she might wear them and mix them with pieces in her closet today.”

We asked Jennifer Murray, the other half, what she imagines her dream girl wearing with Miller’s shirts for J.Crew: “She would be wearing some red skinny jeans, from J.Crew of course, and a vintage leather motorcycle jacket with some amazing cat eye sunglasses!” Gibson’s version is only slightly different: “An Edith A. Miller mini dress topped off with a worn in leather jacket a la Patti Smith circa 1972 at the Chelsea Hotel!”

I never heard of Edith Miller before now (so I have no opinion on whether this is a good partner for J.Crew). But I do like striped shirts! I am also curious about the price points for these pieces.
