  1. Ha, found it! The stadium cloth boulevard trench (19648) is back in...maraschino cherry!

  2. In love with JCA! I was just about to purchase the twisted-ribbon dress (43317) on popback and final sale but decided to read the reviews here first...Saved myself a lot of grief and about $50. Thanks to all you JCA's and your candid reviews!

  3. Ooohhh...the maraschino cherry boulevard trench is so pretty! If my coat closet wasn't already overstuffed, I'd definitely considered buying that one.

  4. So happy that the Fair isle sweater is on sale as of today as I saw a bunch of them in store yesterday and plan to go back at lunchtime and ask them to price match (if not already marked down in store which I suspect not). First admired it a few weeks ago but thought to myself, $138 for an acrylic sweater? $90 isn't much better, but given my petite frame, I'm trying to scoop up as many shorter length sweaters as I can this season. Add to that the gift card burning a hole through my pocket ;)

  5. What's the name of the cardigan shown in the image of this post? I can't remember for the life of me!

  6. Rosa: I think it is called the Traversa cardigan.

  7. I am wearing a cashmere wrap sweater from winter 05/06, and there is not a pill to be found....I love this sweater while it is perfect in a classic J Crew way, but it makes me wish today's cashmere was the same.

  8. To update my earlier post, the Fair isle sweater is $59.99 in stores as of today versus $89.99 online. Glad I got there on the day it was marked down as I snagged the last in my size and color preference, and even more glad that I didn't order it online without checking the store first!

  9. I finally was able to snag my size in the Casbah bandeau one piece during the 30% off promo, and I just love these suits. Especially in the prints, the ruching and sucky-in-y fabric makes them so flattering. Plus, they have a bit of padding in the bust. Modest (esp for a mommy), but they don't feel matronly in the least.

  10. We have this brief window between summer and winter here in upstate New York in which a light jacket is appropriate. So I'm finally able to wear the navy Pea Jacket that I got at the end of spring. I love this jacket. The silhouette is so flattering. I love the subtle metallic threads in the fabric. I even like the gold buttons that I know turned off quite a few JCAs. They are very shiny and made of unsubstantial material. But in their loud way they give the jacket a kind of aplomb.

  11. I stopped by the Michigan Ave. store in Chicago today...Just browsing, really. But I came upon a $59.99 sale rack and found the Maisie dress on it. They had all different colors, but I liked the grey. Still, the tag had only marked it down to $99.99, and not $59.99. So I asked an sa (or maybe she was a manager) to check the price. She came back and said it was $99.99 but that she would honor the $59.99! I was surprised and she said it was their mistake and they want to "keep customers happy!" So, kudos to this intrepid employee, because I got the dress and felt really good about! BTW, she took the $59.99 sign down as I was buying the dress...

  12. That is b/c by law they do really have to sell the dress to you as the sign stated. Sometimes employees of stores so oops we made a mistake with the sign--I usually say what I mentioned above and get the price and then the sign is taken down. Works at clothing as well as drug stores...etc.

  13. After seeing the orange Arianna pumps in the sale section online today, I stopped by my B&M and sure enough they had them marked down to $149.99 (versus $189.99 online) plus an extra 30% off, and they let me apply my 15% student discount on top! I've been stalking these since they were full price and I'm so happy I finally connected with them at such a great price! Also picked up the little fair isle vest - too hard to pass up at $19.99 plus 30% off plus 15% off.

Also really happy they allowed me a price adjustment on a coat I recently bought without my student ID, as it mostly covered my purchase. :)

Between the amazing fall collection and the great customer service experiences I've had recently, I'm fresh out of my usual gripes and looking to love!

  14. One little note on the Arianna pumps - I probably could've gotten away with my regular size but I sized up and they're perfect. I usually take a 6.5 in JC flats (1/2 size down) but I went with a 7.5 in these. Yet another reason why final sale is okay so long as you have the opportunity to try on first!
