Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. No store for me. I have boxes coming and will wait patiently for them. Caved at the last minute on the beautiful Sterling skirt.

  2. No store for me, either, but looking forward to seeing what the other JCAs find :)

  3. I don't have plans to go in this weekend, but do look forward to hearing reports from the JCAs that do visit. :)

  4. I'm anxious to hear the displays and decorations. Do they decorate and accessorize for the holidays? I love this time of year, but the holiday catalog didn't have that much "cheer" to it, compared to last seasons.

  5. I was confused by yesterday's rollout. Is this the last big one before resort starts in December? I saw some nice things but fewer festive prints, taffeta skirts and fun tees than usual for the holiday. I need to use my rewards card, but want to know all my options before resort starts.

  6. Trying this here in case no one is looking at the 11/9 post anymore.

Can anyone comment on the sizing of Madewell tops/blouses? I never purchased from there before, and there is a button down shirt I'm looking to purchase. I'm usually a small at JC, but their sizing says I should be a medium. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Love2shop4bags:
I find Madewell's sizing to be about the same as JC's, which is to say (unfortunately) that it is consistently inconsistent. Annoying, given that their entire sale section is FS and there aren't that many B&M's outside of urban areas. All that said, I do generally take the same size range in Madewell as in JC-- so if you're generally, say, an S in JC blouses I would start there. There's also a great guide to Madewell shopping on Tippy's blog (tres tippy).

No retail B&M for me this wknd, as I'm headed out of town-- although, my drive does take me directly past a crewlet....

    ReplyDelete
  8. I also usually take the same size in Madewell as JC. I do find most Madewell to be a bit bigger in the bust and slimmer through the hip in my sizes. Also, I find the boyfriend fits to be generous (and similar to JC in size) while I do sometimes need to size up if they say it is fitted or true to size.

I bought the striped boyshirt from JC in a 4 and the Cora and Bookmark shirts in small from Madewell. The Cora (supposed to be a boyfriend fit) fits just like the boyshirt, but the bookmark (supposed to be TTS) was way too skinny in the hip and slim overall.

    ReplyDelete
  9. love2shop4bags - I would echo everyone else about Madewell - I would definitely not size up. I haven't ordered any tops but their dresses don't fit any smaller than JC, at least for the ones I have ordered (in fact both Alexa Chung Sz 0 have been pretty big, but that would be as for JC Sz 0 dresses, I need 00). I am very happy with the quality of the things I've ordered though :)

  10. I went yesterday... and am shopping the sale section now which includes the newly marked down shimmer skirt. In love with that bow... but it's still too expensive, sigh.

They didn't have much good on sale, but I did try on the new thermals that everyone has been raving about. I don't see why they are such a hit, but maybe that's because they are not proportioned for a tall person :( The sleeves were too short and overall it just looked shrunken on me. I tried the crew and the henley. So, so sad, because the material is pretty nice.

The hadley sweater is $49.99 in store. I liked it but it does not flatter a busty individual in my opinion... but then, most crewnecks don't, especially heavy ones.

I also agree with whoever said that the royal paisley is much prettier on the blouson dress than the cotton skirt, and I ended up going home with the dress. That makes three blouson dresses for me... it's just such a nice style!

Also, they have some adorable new shopping bags for Holiday. They have a cute mountain/ski scene on them. Love!

The new catalog wasn't out, but I asked for one and they happily gave it to me.

  12. I wrote a long post and it got eaten.

Bottom line -- Walden Galleria has all sizes of Cafe Capri in Yacht Blue and the neon azela No. 2 Double Serve Wool Pencil skirt is a pretty pink color; not obnoxiously bright.

  13. No plans to visit, caught a few online popbacks for myself and the munchkin yesterday. Currently have a late interest in the Poppy King Lipstick...Can any NYC JCA's comment on whether they've seen it in stores?
    Thanks a bunch!

  14. I will be hitting J.Crew and Madewell in Lenox Square sometime in the next few days. I'm in the Southern U.S. visiting family and a shopping trip to Lenox/Phipps is always part of the itinerary. I brought my expandable suitcase and the biggest carry-on allowed, both almost empty. Would love to see a retail promo on Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Candece -- I feel like one of the JCAs (Wellfedfred, maybe?) talked about the Poppy King lipstick in-store in NYC. I know the Toronto store had them too, so they were definitely available at retail.

    ReplyDelete
  16. OT question -- do the hand-enameled bracelets come shipped in individual boxes? I ordered some for gifts, and wondered how they were sent. I hope they're in boxes, so much easier to wrap!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Clicquot- not sure if they will be individual, but I ordered nailpolish and just got it in a silver jewel box.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Candece - the Dallas Galleria crew had a jar full of the Poppy King lipstick!

I doubt I will hit a mall this weekend, and if I do it will be the outlet... esp with that 30% off Outerwear. My Crewlet trench and coat from last year are two of my favorite outerwear peices. So excited to start wearing them again.

  19. I should add, if you need extras, I'd be happy to mail you mine :0

  20. Thanks everyone for your feedback on Madewell sizing. I guess maybe it would help to clarify that I was looking at the Streetscape ex-boyfriend shirt (47518). While it says "boyfriend" in the name, the description of the shirt says "shrnken fit." I feel like this is an oxymoron. The one makes me feel a small is okay, the other makes me feel like I should size up. Anyone try this particular shirt on or can comment on the specific name/description? Thanks again!

  21. Can anyone comment on the quality of the Factory Eden Blazer?

Also..the Always Cascading Cardigan does it run TTS?

    Thanks!

  22. I popped in to my b&m yesterday just to peek at some things IRL that I ordered with the 25% off. Happy with those items, as well as some that are not out yet. My PS there went back to the closet and gave me a holiday catalog, apparently they aren't allowed to put them out until NEXT week, when they get more items in the stores. GIGI: I have like a dozen boxes LOL on their way and I know SOME of it will have to go back! Won't go back to the store til then!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I went into the b&m last night and the SAs were hurriedly putting all the new items out. Lots of the light blue cafe capris, red cafe trousers in wool, leopard print scoopneck blouse... And the sale section was pretty pull with the usual suspects.

I asked about the new catalogue and was told to come in on Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  24. cute little section in factory, entitled "festive finds"---never noticed that before! how are the puffer vests, in factory, btw? anyone have one out there and can comment? thanks:)

    ReplyDelete
  25. i thought factory items were free shipping......??

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm visiting to pick up my viridian green no. 2 pencil skirt. I dropped it off for repairs since it ripped after only wearing it twice!

I'm also returning the farrow trouser that arrived at my house last night. These are high rise and pleated, which is not a good look for me. The fabric was nice; however, these were unlined.

I'll try not to browse since I did too much damage last night on new arrivals.

    ReplyDelete
  27. For those of you looking for the new catalog...check your local factory store too (if you have one). I went to mine today and they had a whole stack out on their register!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Definitely going to do some returns. I had bought a few things in different sizes during the 25% off, so some need to be returned. Also returning the trouser jeans that sadly give me a horrible muffin top. :-( Hoping to get a catalog!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. oh, and JcrewJD, I agree w/you about the thermals. I am not very tall at all and felt as though they ran very skimpy. I tried the larger of my 2 sizes in tops (I'm between a M and L) and the Large felt so short on me. I agree that they are very cozy but I could see it riding up on me and exposing my back which would suck in the winter.

    ReplyDelete
  30. love2shop4bags: I would definitely go with the "shrunken fit" desrcription for the streetscape shirt. By the "ex-boyfriend" in the title I think they are just referring to the overall style (pattern, fabric) and not the size. Other similar shirts say "oversized fit" and generally look that way on the model, but this one is definitely more fitted. I have always found the 'fit' comment in the description to be true. SO, I would recommend going with your usual J.Crew size if you want it to look as shown, or going up a size if you want that oversized "boyfriend" look. Don't ask me why it has to be so confusing! There should be a translator for this stuff. HTH!

  31. Mary, I was just on the phone with the store manager/my fave local PS (I have 2 one here, one in NYC :) and he said they are getting more new things in next Wednesday. I didn't ask how much or for details since he was finding an item for me, but I'll be going into the store tomorrow.

  33. I just received the No. 2 pencil skirt in double serge wool in Neon Azalea. This skirt is beautiful!!! I will post IRL pics on my blog shortly.

  34. I am obsessed with the Emmaleigh dress. Finally, a good-quality dress that looks good on me, with pockets, that I can wear to work! I have it in the heather flannel and the lagoon (gorgeous, deep blue) and probably need to return one. Is the grey one more likely to be around in later/final sales? My sense is that with the suiting it's better to buy the colors since the neutrals are much more available at sale time.

Also agree that I don't get the thermal love. I'm 5'8" with a long torso, though, which might be the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No shopping for me this weekend but did go yesterday. Some purple reviews here

    ReplyDelete
  36. LRA - I reviewed the factory puffer vest on my blog here

    ReplyDelete
  37. I wish I was going to a store so I didn't have to mail back all of my returns!
I received the silk luxe blouse in the neon azalea and I didn't even take it out of the package, is is SO neon I can't even believe it. On my monitor it looked like a bright hot pink, but not neon.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Does anyone know if the new catalog is out at Bellevue JC? I might make the trip if it is.

Re: the thermals, for those that are so tall that these run short, you are describing a problem I would like to have :) I do think they shrink up a little in the wash but once you put them on, they stretch a little too.

  39. Happy Veterans Day everyone!!
I will wait for my boxes as well. I was in the store on Wed. for returns and they did not have the new catalog so I am so happy they put the catalog back online. They had many small sizes in the Vegas sale section so I didn't get much on Wed. since I needed a Med. in the items I wanted.

  40. Oh no Dani, but now I am glad that I have cancelled my order after seeing the neon azalea in Blythe. How was the other color, I remember you saying you ordered both?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sydneygirl, Thanks for the information. Hope there will be some candy tees coming.

    ReplyDelete
  42. No plans to visit the store this weekend, I have done a huge amount of damage these past few weeks. But I must say, the day after the STAYWARM promo has ended, I finally decided I want to get the Majesty peacoat! :-( I was on the fence for ages because my coat closet is bursting but I tried on my black wool coat today and it's just not cutting it anymore. Has anyone ever begged and pleaded with CS to apply the promo the day after it ended? (I know, very sad and desperate, and a long shot at best.) *SIGH* I hope they run an outerwear promo soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi DaniBP, I did the same thing with the neon azalea Blythe. I didn't even take it out of the bag. I could'nt return it fast enough. I am sad I didn't get the no. 2 pencil in the azalea since it sounds like a nice color. I was picturing it as neon like the Blythe blouse.

    ReplyDelete
  44. No visit for me. I do have to say I'm glad to see some longer length skirts... IMO, the model pic of the sequin mesh bell skirt just looks ridiculous compared to the rest of the skirt pics.

    ReplyDelete
  45. LRA, the factory puffer vests are really nice. Just as nice as retail. I've been very tempted by them!

The SAs at my b&m said they'd be getting the new arrivals Wednesday. Sadly they never get anything good so they probably won't get the azalea pencil skirt.

SO sad to hear the luxe silk blouse is neon. I was really hoping that would be a winner. Well, maybe the other color is nice, although I already have the silk Annette blouse in that color and don't need two.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Louise, I have gotten a CS to apply a promo a day late. I'm sure it all depends on who you get. They'll do it as the infamous "one time courtesy." Can't hurt to ask. Best of luck.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I returned my Luxe Silk Blouse in the unopened package to my B&M today, too! The SA said the color reminded her of Pepto-Bismol!
It is truly neon. Now I have the skirt on order, too...anyone know if it is the same exact shade? If so, it will be going back , too-so sad! :(
J Crew would do well to make the color the Neon Azalea APPEARS to be in the pictures

    ReplyDelete
  48. Louise I would absolutely ask for the 25% and I bet you will get it. You are a good customer, ask for it as a one-time thing.

ajc I did order the blouse in the sand dune and I hope that I at least like that seemingly safe neutral. I am really disappointed with the neon azalea, they were both waitlisted but the neon shipped out this past Monday. I've been out of town since yesterday morning and I came home to the Bad Surprise of my neon blouse today.

Shekster it sounds like the azalea in the pencil is truly a beautiful pink and not neon thank goodness.
I did neon in the 80's but it was okay because I was 12 years old!

I've got a big order set to arrive soon with the Collection Circle skirt among other things, and judging from Gigi's review it is looking like that is a return as well. I won't be happy with poor tailoring and lining on such an expensive item, a Collection item!

    ReplyDelete
  49. ccurran LOL I was afraid to remove it from the plastic wrapper it was so neon, blind my eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I did receive my Biennial Satchel today in red-quite a nice bag-soft, buttery, pebbled leather-it appears to me to be the same shade as the red Edie, which is nice, but I had hoped for a bit more of a blue-red
seems to be it would be a good bag for travel, given the generous size, and I suspect that is what I will use it for(Europe 2012???)

    ReplyDelete
  51. A bit OT but where has the Scoopneck blouse in Seine stripe gone? I received mine yesterday and went back to see what sizes were left today and it was completely gone! I even searched it on the site and googled it... anyone else buy this blouse? Curious to hear what others thought about it. I think the colors are gorgeous, but I don't know why, the fit just didn't thrill me. And I have another pet peeve that maybe some of you will share. I don't like 3/4 sleeves in the winter. It makes me feel cold to have my wrists exposed. Sounds crazy I know, but anyway...back goes the blouse. I also received the Blythe in fiesta purple and I am on the fence. It is a beautiful, rich color but something about it feels too intense for my personality. I too, like so many others am now pining over the sterling skirt. I am debating whether to wait it out or not. Would love to hear a review from a JCA, or better yet see some IRL pics.

    ReplyDelete
  52. So, I went to my local store this morning (big mistake for many reasons: Crate & Barrel grand opening along with H&M opening and North Face = NO PARKING). I was disappointed to say the least. No new catalog out. And I swear the b/m remodel is smaller than ever. I did not see one new thing in there except for the puff vest. Blah. CrewCuts had a ton of stuff but too bad I cannot wear that size. So, I headed back to work and ordered (without the 25% off) the flame colored cable turtleneck and I was happy to see the HEART sweater...not a bad price either. I happily used my rewards card for these items.

I'm wondering though, why are there no colors of purple in the heather stone beret but they have the scarf and mittens? Makes no sense to me. I am a fan of the dahlia and deep purple paired with flame red for Christmas Pictures!!!!

Happy Weekend. I'm not visiting my JCREW b/m store for a long time!

    ReplyDelete
  53. CrewGurl, I returned the Seine blouse, the fit on me was quite boxy and unflattering which was a disappointment as I really like the blouse. It looks fabulous on Ema though, not sure if you've seen her review?
I also like the sterling skirt and am wondering if I should have ordered it yesterday on the promo. I am also looking forward to a review from a JCA!

  54. CrewGurl - LOVE the Seine Stripe blouse. Tried it on in 2 sizes

  55. Went to b&m today and they have 25% off all tees and knits including sweatshirts and thermals. Thermals fit awesome though I sized up.

  56. I found the neon azalea of the Blythe more neon, almost flourescent, than the luxe silk blouse. The Blythe has slightly blue iridescent undertones and its thinner silky texture contributed to its brightness. I returned the Blythe without hesitation and immediately.

The color of the luxe silk shirt reminds of a 60s pink, and yes, perhaps Pepto Bismal or bubblegum in color but with less blue undertones. I've seen this color in this season's resort apparel. I'm still considering it for now because the fabric is excellent. Finally a silk shirt that isn't thin! I will likely return it though as the color is a little limiting with my winter wardrobe. I'm more comfortable with this color in the summer (or at a resort) than for cold months. I also don't really care for the pockets since they tend to stay open and are perhaps positioned too high. The Blythe is nicer in that regard.

The neon azalea skirt (how did you guess that I liked this color?) is very pretty. Again, a 60s pink, very Milly, but the difference is the fabric. It don't find it as bright and overpowering as the blouses, certainly nothing near the blinding intensity of the Blythe.

  57. Regarding Madewell sizing, I take a 0 in J.Crew tops and an XS in Madewell tops. Haven't tried any pants yet, as pants are usually my difficult, need to be mentally prepared shopping task.

All the new glitter JC ballets and heels are so festive, but when I went by the newly remodeled SF store I saw glitter from the shoes all over the shelves they were displayed on! So sad. It seems like there has to be something you can spray over the top to make the glitter adhere long-term...

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm going to try to stay away. I spent as much this week (with that darn 25% off) than I did in the last two months. And that, is definitely saying something

    ReplyDelete
  59. Crewgirl, I have the Seine top and I love it, it fits tts in my opinion. I personally like the 3/4 sleeves because I can wear it with more stuff (cardigans and jackets with 3/4 sleeves) but if you prefer a longer length the new top in the wildcat print has the same fit but with regular sleeves. I reviewed both on my blog. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  60. No store for me this weekend, after that promo, JC is coming to me!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I know some people were buying the Sherpa Zip Hoodie on last promo, and was wondering how they liked them. Did sizing up work for you? Would you recommend the jacket? TIA and have a great weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  62. For any Canadian JCAs, Yorkdale has finally acquired a sale section! Went up there this AM to return something and was sidetracked by the sale racks. Hadley sweaters, Liquid Silk skirts, Painter tees, Origami skirts, Fair Isle sweaters etc etc. Not a very broad selection but still nice to see finally. Prices much lower than current online sale.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Does anyone else wonder like me why JC could not maybe, make their colors online actually look like they actually are IRL....? :) I mean I guess we are all mostly used to it. I know I am. But other stores/brands manage to have their online items appear true to their actual appearance for the most part. Whereas for JC it has become sort of a running joke for me (I can't make myself take this seriously, but sometimes annoying or disappointing....). I order cashmere on sale for example and wonder what color it is actually going to be....if I haven't actually seen it in the store. (eg, pink items that are peach, white items that are cream, the colorblock tee that looked black and white and was in fact beige etc etc). And seeing this disappointment re the neon azalea pink pieces, I mean really - couldn't they fix that. Do any of us want to wear a fluorescent pink shirt?? (DaniBP, you mean you don't want to look like a sharpie :) My personal favorite was that fluoro green/yellow they were making a few years ago - I ordered a few pieces and they hurt my eyes....maybe that flatters some of us, but definitely not me!! :) And then I just saw that my beloved cashmere zip hoodie is now available in some new shades, incl (wait for it :)....neon azalea. I love pink, but I know that tulip cashmere this year IRL is a pretty fluoro/candy floss pink, so now I am going to go in search of this shade to figure out what it is....
Ok well sorry if this is a silly comment, and I am not a computer expert, but even with differing monitors etc, it just seems that J.crew's issue with the colors is extreme vs other retailers...

  65. I got the sherpa hoodie on the last promo. I ordered my usual size in tops - small and then panicked. Would it be too small? It was certainly snug when I got it. I thought too snug. But one wiser than me in the Way of the Hoodie said "If it's cotton, it will stretch." It did and it now fits very nicely indeed. I can fit a thin sweater under it, but usually I wear it (as I am right now) with a tee. (I should add that I, uh, "encouraged" some of the stretching.)

  67. Just back from the Tyson's store (went to make returns). Great sale section! Jenna's cardigans in black, gray, vibrant flame and purple for $39.99 (I'll be returning the one I bought online for $59 during the sale). Tortoise Cece's for $79 , and the No 2 pencil in the houndstooth (brown with black plaid) from early In the season for $89! Also picked up a full price black and gray sweater jacket (looks like the camel/black one online). Very happy with my purchases - but of course spent too much!

    ReplyDelete
  68. BonnieMC, DaniBP - Well, I swallowed my pride and asked for the 25% off but no luck. Oh well. Fingers crossed for an outerwear promo soon. It's gotten pretty chilly lately and I could really have used the new coat.

cagliari67: Big thanks for the heads-up re: the sale section. Was there a decent size selection of the liquid silk skirt? I have been checking the Yorkdale store every couple weeks for a sale section, and it's a real pain to drive out there.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Went into the Fort Worth b&m this afternoon to snag a catalog :) And then, gasp! An SA actually acknowledged me and seemed genuinely nice. I was stunned. So I decided to do a quick walk around. Honeycomb sweaters are currently $69.50 (I think I remember also seeing certain corduroy styles are also $69.50). Women's tees & tanks are 25% off. Didn't see many new things in the sale section.

Now that I've looked through the catalog, I'm ready for another online promo so I can start ordering! If only they'd have a discount for the unemployed (but searching!)...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Louise: as of Saturday morning, there were a LOT of the liquid silk skirts, in both the navy and fuschia colours. Seemed to be just about every size. I am not far from Yorkdale and have been popping by about once a week to check for sale stock - and this is totally new. One of the SAs said it just went up Thurs. Worth checking out.

  71. Thanks to everyone who commented on the Seine blouse. It looks great on Ema and OperaRach. I am returning mine because I tried it again and just don't love it enough to keep it.
Went into B&M yesterday and tried on Stadium-cloth boulevard trench while my dh was with me. I looked at him and stated "I am in love". He later told me jokingly that he is truly concerned about my mental health because I get a scary look in my eyes when I am in that store. lol, oh well! Anyway, I am now waiting very impatiently for an outerwear promo because I can't stop thinking about that coat! Can anyone here comment on it who has it already?

    ReplyDelete
  72. That is great news about the Toronto store FINALLY acquiring a sale section! It's about time! I have to make a return tomorrow and I'll be interested to see what they've got.

  73. Did anyone try on the Perfect Shirt in Tartan? I got mine and it is cut very differently than my other perfect shirts; much smaller in the back. Just wondering if anyone else noticed.

    ReplyDelete
  74. CrewGurl, I have the stadium cloth boulevard trench in black from Holiday 09 and I am still in love. I highly recommend it.

The fabric on 09 version is 80% wool, 20% nylon and lining is 100% acetate. I'm not sure if this year's version is the same, maybe someone knows. I'll be at a B&M tomorrow and if they have it in-store I will check.

The style is very flattering and it is incredibly warm without being overly bulky or stiff. I have worn it done right up with the collar popped to fend off the wind and it worked really well. I like that the belt isn't super long, it ties up nicely and doesn't flop around at all. The pockets are well-placed and fairly deep, great to warm your hands or keep your keys, phone, etc. safe if you're not carrying a purse.

The classic style of this coat should give you many seasons of use, making the cost per wear very affordable over the life of the coat.

Last year J.Crew had 20% off outerwear at the end of October so they are due for a coat promo any time now. There have been some of these coats available during the post-holiday sales the past two seasons as well but if there's a good coat promo they may get scooped up.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Crewgurl,
I agree with xoxo. If the stadium cloth boulevard trench fits you well, I highly recommend it. My black one from two years ago still looks new and has kept me warm through daily winter NYC subway rides. I also have one in grey. These two have coats have survived my regular closet purge. I only have three Jcrew winter coats now: 2 wool boulevard stadium cloth trenches and one long puffer coat.

    ReplyDelete
  76. @xoxo and Marie: If my mind wasn't completely made up already, you now pushed me over the edge to "I want it yesterday"! xoxo, thanks for the great review..very helpful. I couldn't believe how beautifully the coat fit, like you said not bulky at all. And yet it felt so substantial and warm. Can't wait!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. CrewGurl, you're making the right choice! I agree with what xoxo and Marie said. I love mine from 2009... one of the best coats ever!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I've never had a JC coat so I don't know how the fabrics perform. Do their coats hold their shape after the first year? Which wool (double cloth/stadium cloth, etc.) pills the least?

  79. Hello JCAs!
Re: the stadium-cloth boulevard trench, how does it fit? Is it TTS or should I size up/down?

    TIA!

  80. I went on Friday to return the Ryder boots that I'd bought online last month. They seem to be excellent quality but the fit is weird. I always know that when I don't wear something immediately, I never will. One little beef with JC: They need to make boots with a smaller calf. If they can make extra roomy ones then can't they also make them for people with skinny calves? This is a short boot, so I thought I would be ok, but it hit lower/mid-calf and was so big that it looked stupid on me. And terrible with jeans. On a positive note: I got the Biennial bag on Thursday (bought it on Mon with the sale) and LOVE it!

  81. I'm using the Biennial bag as a purse bc/ I'm in grad school and work, so I need to have everything with me. Already have received many compliments.

  82. OT, but has anyone tried the gold glittery Stockholm nail polish for Jcrew? I'm just wondering the quality and sheerness factor. Thanks

  83. CrewGurl and emmawasabi: I bought the stadium cloth boulevard trench last year. I didn't really need a new jacket at the time but I got it in Jan. or Feb. for about $100 which was an amazing price. I love the fit and material.I took my normal jacket size for JCrew but I don't know how this year's coat is fitting. I got quite a bit of wear out of it last year and it looks brand new.

  84. Just a dissenting voice here on the Madewell vs J Crew sizing. I'm a solid M in J Crew and a L in Madewell's shirts and sweaters. I've got a broad back and a small front and the Madewell runs a lot narrower in the shoulders and upper back, especially their shirts. I'd definitely size up in Madewell (and I have a lot of their pieces and have tried on more).

  85. Went on Saturday night to my B&M, Park Meadows. My Timex watch was losing time and I had it checked out and it was not the battery, so they exchanged for a new one. Thanks to every SA and Manager at that store they are the best. Their sale section was stuffed, lots of skirts on sale. I don't wear skirts during the winter, so nothing for me there. Got a tee-shirt on 25% off but totally forgot to look for a catalog so I guess I will need to go back :)

  88. I purchased the Scoopneck blouse in Wildcat = love. I am pairing it with the blue wool pencil skirt from last season (yes an outfit straight outta the look book!)

The quality is great and the fit is wonderful.

I am probably going to purchase the pencil skirt in Neon Azalea. I think it's safe to say I have a pencil skirt addiction, roughly...14 or so. *sigh*

Katie - I heart Tyson's Corner The Galleria. I am paying a visit next month for a week and will definitely be dropping some money there!
