Yey for Snowman! 30% Off (no min!) & Free Shipping ($100+) at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Rose (in this post), as well as Irina, who shared the following offer from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering a similar promotion of yesterday's for 30% off on any purchase (no min!) with free shipping (on orders of $100+) with promo code SNOWMAN!!! The offer expires Monday, December 19, 2011. The fine print of this offer includes:
*Offer valid on jcrew.com and at J.Crew retail stores only. Offer not valid at J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases, alterations or the purchase of gift cards. Offer not applicable on third-party branded merchandise, Wallace & Barnes, or wedding. 30% discount applies to online orders before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Free shipping offer is valid on Internet orders shipped via regular shipping (3 to 6 business days). Free shipping applies to online-only orders of $100 or more before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Offer valid through Monday, December 19, 2011, 11:59pm ET. Savings and free shipping are applied at checkout with code SNOWMAN. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion or redeemed for cash. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
Once again, this offer is extended to their stores as well. I really do love that- since sometimes the prices are better in stores, plus I can try things on beforehand. Great move J.Crew!

Yes, yesterday's promotion was slightly better since it offered free shipping on any amount (which I took advantage of multiple times). But at least this one has a minimum of $100 (as oppose to $150 or $175).

There is also a decent update to the Holiday Sale section (click here to shop online) this morning. With over 900+ items for Women and 300+ items for Men.

Will you be checking out J.Crew? Are there any items you are interested in getting? If so, please share. :)

  1. I'm just curious about the items I ordered that are on backorder. The promos have been better and better so when I ordered them they were 25% off and now there is a 30%. Do I need to cancel and re-order or will I get the lowest price? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

  2. Hi TeriLynn13 - In my experience, you'll get the lowest price if the item is permanently marked down (say it goes from $49.99 to $39.99 while on backorder), but if it's just a discount, you'd need to re-order and cancel the backorder. Some JCA's report being able to get a price adjustment by contacting CS but that could be hit or miss - if the item's still listed on the website, I'd just reorder. HTH!

  3. Thanks! They were full price items so I guess I will re-order. With all of these promos getting the lowest price could end up being an Olympic sport :-)

  4. This is amazing. I didn't bite yesterday and now there is another code. Crazy. I cannot recall another time when there were so many good codes.

  5. Another great offer, it has been pretty fun to watch.

I used yesterday's 30% plus free ship no minimum to send some Christmas presents to my family in Georgia, very nice gifts for a reasonable price. Also used the Lands End offer for them... the promos have made it very easy to stick to my Christmas budget.

  6. Well, of course I could keep shopping but I do need to put a halt to it. Happy to browse prices online just to see "what's up." I am sure hitting a store would be more rewarding as they tend to have better prices. Have a great weekend!

  7. I purchased the Danner hiking boots for a little over $200. Awesome! I take full advantage of these offers.

  8. I said no earlier, but then this weekend I'm going to visit a couple of stores, so who knows?

Does anyone own the Academy coat? Does it fit TTS? I tend to size up in blazers and coats, so was wondering. For reference, I have last year's Sasha peacoat and I sized up to 4 in it. TIA

  9. Rose, Shann had a review of the Academy coat in herringbone on her Wardrobe Review blog here. HTH

  10. I'm not using the code today, but I used the last one for two shipments. Got the Wintress Puffer, but I had to get the tall, since regular was sold out in my size. Does anyone else have that? I'm scared it will be too long, even though I am technically tall (5'9").

  11. I'm suffering from promo fatigue.

  12. I think J. Crew is in a spot. The quality was lacking, so perhaps they didn't sell as much. Once Christmas is over, the magazines and stores will be filled with Resort and Spring. There J. Crew will be with their sweaters and coats and they will need to slash even further. I don't need anything and it would have to be a compelling price to change that. Since the items I would consider are still full price, the promo is just okay. It's great that they are doing promos, but I would rather have had better quality.

  13. The American Observer: I am also 5'9 and never ordered Tall coats since I don't have particularly long arms. I ordered one in Tall this year and it is SO. MUCH. BETTER. because of the extra sleeve length.

Actually, even my sister, who is only 5'5, orders her J. Crew coats in Tall because she likes the extra sleeve length.

I think you'll be really happy with the tall version!

  14. Is the vibrant flame double cloth coat material more red or orange irl? In some pics it looks more red, others more orange. I'm looking at the lady day and metro coats. Thanks!!!

  15. Is it true that personal shoppers cannot get an item for you once it goes on sale, even if it is sold out on line and there is no way for you to find it??? I was just told this and am kind of shocked because I've definitely had store searches done in the past. Jcrew FAIL.

  16. I could be enticed into fighting the crowds at my local B&M today if that awesome jewelry promo is still in effect (25% plus 30%).

Yesterday my husband went in to look for a few things for himself and I asked him if he'd see if they had the black drapey sequin tank in stock. They had it on sale plus the additional 30%. Wore it last night with my tartan perfect shirt and some jeans...love!

  17. Hi -
Happy Holidays - JCA's, check your mail! I received a 2012 planner (orange) - just like last year's. Hope you all receive one too!

    ReplyDelete
  18. The American Observer: Talls are really nice in coats. I have never noticed them being super long... it is more like the waist hits in a better spot and the sleeves are longer. I hope it works out for you!

  19. My store has 30% off EVERYTHING. I overheard the manager saying to the staff that it cannot be combined with any other discount, including the student discount.

I went in to buy a present but ended up getting things for myself. I found a fabulous red belt for $14, a candle for $7, and the acorn Flair Skirt for $35 after discount. The Flair is still $108 online!

  20. pathos - a couple more retail jewelry pieces in this post. Hope you see this. I can't find our convo on it.

  21. @ patsystone: At my B & M the mananger said that the Jewelery promo was still on going and could be combined with the extra 30%.

  22. Amaryllis, my PS recently found an item that was sold out online and marked down in stores, so I'd be surprised if that were a policy. I hope not!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks Hexicon, I need a good, responsive PS who's interested in selling me stuff. Not someone who gives bs info e.g. "it's too hard to find out of stock items." Umm isn't that your job?! If an item is sold out on line, what am I supposed to do? I know my local B&M doesn't carry it. Do I have to go the B&M to use the red phone to call Putin in Moscow? Seriously. (sorry if the tone is off, the PS was super rude).

  25. So, I finally scored the Stadium-cloth boulevard trench in saddle yesterday. When I brought it home I noticed it had the prickly issue in the shoulder area too! Ugh. I was literally pulling out needle like pieces. And what is worse, J.Crew won't pay to fix it. Back it went. So sad.

So beware...this coat has that issue too :( On a happy note for those interested, the jewelry is still 25 or 30% off plus the additional 30% off.

  26. Gigi- thank you! I'm drooling! It is so helpful to see pictures :> I'm also loving the golden stripe bracelet. And your link to the Jenna bracelet has piqued my interest too. Do you see that one in the stores? I need to make it up to Chicago soon.

  27. Kendra I sent u a pic of the symphony coat in VF That I returned. It is a orange red not a cherry or blue red. I assume it would be same in the other styles but have not seen them myself so I could be wrong.

  28. I wonder if shoes have some sort of sale like jewerly that can be combined with 30% off. Does anyone know if any shoes are on sale at the stores while still full price online?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hmm, all these promos that the 900 Michigan store in Chicago refuses to stack.

The vibrant flame coat is definitely more orange than red in real life,

  30. Can anyone confirm what day last week the 'Spicy Gold' colour of the Lucinda blouse went on sale? It was full price the week before and I'm hoping the one I received would be eligible for a PA...

  31. @ thatdamngreendress: I can confirm that the Spicy Gold Lucinda went on sale because I ordered it! HTH.

  35. Carolyn from Vancouver here...
I just placed my first ever online order. I have always hesitated because of sizing, shipping and returning hassles.
I am going to the B&M store in Seattle for post-xmas sales...so I can return the things I don't like without having to pay shipping back.
I had not noticed the free shipping for Canada before but it comes up on this order. I can't tell you how many times I have filled a cart only to delete it all because of second guessing my size.So this time I oredered two of most things so I can try them.
    What did I buy.....
    - the tissue turtleneck (Navy and light pink)
    - the Quorra sandels ( A bargin at about 40 bucks can. and the
    the greta wedge sandels.
the jardin skirt in purple nad pinky red
-the boy shirt in chine de crepe in navy stripe
    - and I went wild on the jewerely I three necklaces, and three bracelets
    - I also thought I would try the cashmere ( the henley in black) I am very excited and will post when I receive everything in regards to how long to ship to canada... the quality...sizing and the price paid as everything was on sale then minus the 30%. I ca't wait hope its a good experience or I am back to only ever looking. thanks and wish me first timers luck !

  36. Does anyone know how long shipping takes to Canada (Ontario)?

    ReplyDelete
  37. my last couple of orders have shipped to Quebec in about 3 or 4 days (with about a day or 2 for processing before it is sent). HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Carolyn from Vancouver, congrats on your first order! You picked some really great things. I personally have the tissue turtlenecks & stripe boy shirt and I think those can be winners for lots of ladies. Hope they are for you. :)

  39. Dissertante - shipping to Ontario usually takes 4-5 days for me to receive to my packages after they leave the warehouse.

  40. I will be heading to the mall tomorrow to buy something for my husband (and probably myself too).

  41. Anyone seen Blythe blouse in silk at the store? How much is it now?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Soooo irritated... so I did a try and find it by phone fore the classic pave link bracelet. I get an email the next day saying they couldn't find it... Well I start this mad search and when I called the San Francisco sq store the phone rings 27 times at least only for someone to pick up hit several buttons say hello and when I state I'm looking for an item she replies "Oh I wasn't intending to answer the phone...please hold" ughhh so I feel pissed I can't find the bracelet or the viridian green DS skirt

    ReplyDelete
  43. I caved this morning and ordered the cashmere cascadia sweater in black and the viridian green pencil skirt that incredibly was in stock in a 2 petite size. After much deliberating I was ready to order the Martina patent wedges in bronzed clay but they are backordered now until February (they weren't yesterday so a lot of people must have ordered them with this promo). I went to the Collection store where they still had a few of them and snagged the last pair in my size. They run super-small IMO. Not only I sized up from my regular 7 to a 7H but I am wondering if I shouldn't have sized up an entire size (I am never a 8). Anyway, for those of you who are contemplating ordering them in backorder, get at least half a size bigger!

  44. @Carolyn from Vancouver: Echoing Gigi, congrats on your first order! I remember my excitement when I pulled the trigger that first time too! I hope you like your things!

The free ship offers always get extended to Canadian addresses.

If you're returning items in the US for items shipped direct to Canada, the stores won't be able to refund you brokerage fees or duties. To get the full rebate you'll have to use the shipping labels provided with your package and ship back to the US. Just keep that in mind.

If you're happy/brave enough to place more orders, you may want to consider shipping to Blaine or Point Roberts, to one of those cross-border mailbox services. You have options :)

  45. Although the code says it doesn't apply to weddings, it DOES. I ordered three dresses to try for my wedding next summer -- all 30% off. This is an amazing deal. Please tell your ladyfriends who are getting hitched.
