Twice as nice: a sale treat & free shipping at jcrew.com

"Thanks!" to many of you, including GigiOfCa (in this post), as well as Irina, who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) and free shipping ($100+) with promo code MUSTSHOP. This offer expires Friday, March 2, 2012. The fine print includes:
*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail stores or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Friday, March 2, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Free shipping offer applies to orders shipped via ground shipping totaling $100+ after 30% discount on J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items and before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Savings are applied at checkout with code MUSTSHOP. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
I suspect the OURTREAT promotion that ended yesterday did not move as much Final Sale merchandise as J.Crew hoped for. Frankly, I think its because we have seen the same sale items (at relatively the same prices) for the past few months. (So shoppers interested in certain items already bought them.)

However, for those of you who have held out from shopping... Now is a great time, with the additional percent off and low minimum for free shipping. Especially for the few new-to-sale items. :)

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. The hacking jacket in double serge wool is refusing to enter my shopping cart. Oh well....

  2. Rugby Stripe dress is on sale for $59.99 down from $88.00. Bought it during the last %off promo and I love it, but now I wish I'd waited. Grrrrr.

  3. Going to have to pass. I did too much damage yesterday at Talbots...with 40% off....Plus, I like summer clothing better...

  4. Well, I'm kinda pissed that I placed a big honkin' order the other day with a $175 FS min, argh.

I had the Wildcat blouse in my cart this morning (at $55.99) and was mid-checkout when it fell out. I screamed so loud my dog jumped up. I have been checking daily for WEEKS. Arrgghhh.

And still the double-serge skirt is not popping back in Acorn, wtf! Not even in a P12 or P10.

Losing that top out of my cart made me so angry I closed out and shut my laptop. Grrrrrr.

  5. Just give us 25 or 30% off the new stuff, please!!!!! I am sick of the sale section!

Also, is it me, or is "neon pink" really a soft pink (as in the end on end shirt item #48792)???

  6. I had the Boy Shirt in Carrick Tartan but hesitated since it was technically it was a size bigger. Alas. I did notice a significant update this morning but still nothing I HAVE to have

  7. I have to spend my rewards, and I've been coveting the Jenna Bracelet (online only), so I took advantage of the fact that the 30% applies to anything on sale (not even final sale!) in the factory to bump up my order to $100 to get free shipping.

  8. I bit on the Rugby stripe dress, even though I had to pay shipping, I really like the fit of the dress

  9. The fanfare popover was in the sale section early this morning. I ordered it and hope it ships!

  10. I'm tired of the sale section merch, nothing I have to have.

Elaine, bummer about the Wildcat top. That one is sure worth stalking, hope you get it next time :)

  11. I did bite this morning after the sale update, and was thankful for the lower shipping minimum. The newly-marked down Fanfare Jules dress and Rugby-Stripe dress, as well as a popback Blouson dress in polka dot, will hopefully be on there way soon. I'd wait even longer for further markdowns, but want to wear the Jules dress for an upcoming event. It's cute and more reasonable at this markdown. There are some items that have been languishing for soooo long at the same high prices -- why on earth aren't they slashing those prices?

  12. I placed an order of a couple new items and reordered the rugby dress since I have a box of returns to go anyway and it will cost just a touch more to include the dress. Original price for Canadians $102, with the promo $81.60 and the thing just barely made it here from that order. Now with the sale today it is $48.99 for CDN orders. Ridiculous.

  13. I love the thick, soft cashmere cable sweater, and I was really planning to order another until the two I have shrunk in the wash. I have short arms and the supposedly 3/4 sleeves were really more like 2/3 sleeves. After washing they're barely elbow length. :(

  14. OT- I have a free shipping code for Anthro that I am not going to use. It expires tomorrow.

    Enjoy!

  15. It also seems to be the the 'last sizes' that we are seeing as well, especially in the shoes. And you're right. I already bought the things I wanted with other 30% off sales.

  16. I know this isn't your "vent" post but I'm really frustrated with J Crew today! I ordered the fanfare dress on the recent promo-and it has not even arrived yet. It is now $67 less than what I paid (my size is sold out online) and they will not give me a price adjustment-which is the worst customer service. So-I'll return it and probably not shop at J Crew again.

    1. I would take it to WC or your nearest store and ask for a price adj.

    2. Thanks Gigi. It is not even due to arrive until Monday. My PS is on vacation so she might be able to do something when she gets back. WC?

    3. Walnut Creek. I thought you were near there. Hope your ps saves the day!

    4. Thanks again Gigi. Closer to SF. My PS there can probably help.

  17. JCAs shop final sale with irl pics! Some new cuts at the top of the post.

ITA about slashing some of the older prices. Hello dream Fair Isle vest. That was $19.99 in-store last Sept.

  18. JulieStyles, I would call again. I had the same situation yesterday and got the price adjustment after 3 calls. I think some CSs will say no no matter what (I usually politely hang up on them), while others understand the frustration and are more accomodating. It can be a pain to call several times but it is worth it!

  19. I got the rugby-stripe dress too (in store). I had boght it too during the promo but returned it with the intention to buy it on sale. I wasn't expecting this one to hit the sale section this easly. BTW the crinkle chiffon skirt went on sale in store ($79.99 I think, but don't quote me on that). I am sure about the navy, not sure about the peacock.

  20. Funny, the promo works on reg items too? At least it did when I put the talitha blouse in my cart

    1. I've checked out my fantasy cart a couple times already and didn't see the promo applied to any full price items.

    3. My mom...she used to book cruises and then call back to cancel them. Now *that's* somethin'! When she told me that one I made her repeat it a couple of times to make sure I heard properly. *lol*

  22. I ventured into the land of personal shoppers today as I really want the bermuda shorts in pebble dot. They aren't available in my size on line (or any size anymore)- but if the PS can hunt them down in store, are they likely to honour the 30% off promo as well?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you made the request during this promo, they should honour it. If it doesn't show up as such on your bill when they find it, I would call/e-mail the PS you placed the order with and request that they honour it.

  23. Funny thing....it seems Jcrew.com is down for "maintenance". Hopefully that means a WISH LIST!? A girl can dream can't she?

    1. 499 days and counting for a wishlist, according to the ticker I put on my blog. It was laughed at, but I thin it's interesting to see how long it will take before they add one.

      Dreaming with you... :)

    2. I've seen that too a couple of evenings ago. No wish list, I'm afraid.

  24. Oh, the price discrepancies between the B&M stores and the website are starting to make sense to me. I recently reviewed the No. 2 pencil skirt in gardenshade. It's ~$70 in the stores. The same skirt is $98 on the website, with an additional 30% off, or roughly $70.

Oh, and did anybody else laugh at the thought of buying a $700 sequined dress on FS? Beading clothing is MUCH more expensive to tailor, and it's not like you can try the thing on.

    1. That makes sense. It would be nice if the prices always lined up that way. The Fair Isle vest went down to $19.99 in-store last Sept yet it languishes in final sale at $54.99. The Crewniverse!

  25. Oh, and the cashmere cable sweater is on sale. I know that it has pilled in the past. I was wondering if any JCAs out there had a review on this year's version? I've found reviews straight out of the box, but not one after a few months of wear. Thanks!

    :) Jen

  26. Still nothing for me. I do have several regular-priced items I would love to have an extra % off for though.

Btw, updated list of promo-priced items here. :)

  27. I got the merino lace sweater in grey. I know not everyone likes this one but I have it in the lavendar color and I love it. I missed out on the lady lace popover so this kind of fills that void! Added in some tees and tanks to make the shipping minimum.

  28. Jen my cashmere cable has held up well w minimal pilling so far. I love it but note the short 3/4 sleeves

  29. I wish that somebody would finally buy the Minnie Stretch Twill Size 14 pants in Coal -- because I foolishly keep clicking on "Minnie Stretch Twill Pants" in the sale section hoping to get a pair in my size for 30% $49.99!

I swear that pair of size 14s has been the only pair there for months.

  30. Julie, I understand your frustration... Palo Alto SAs have always been very accommodating if you happen to be down there...AND why does it take SO LONG for JC to ship here to the Bay Area?

I did go to the PA store this week and was very underwhelmed by the spring roll out, nothing I need right now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh happy day. I bit at the $175 free ship promo and ordered a $35 final sale item (the jenna cardigan in henna) to get me up to the minimum for free ship...and I just got the "we wish we had enough email" for that item. Actually, I am GLAD you did not have enough because I still get free ship and none of the rest of my items were final sale (they were all promo priced though) so I got 30% off.

On a related note - if I am P0 in pants, what size would I be in the botocut cords? 25 short?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jen I have two of the cashmere cables that have both been worn probably 10 times. I have not laundered them, just dry clean. The only pilling is slightly under the arms.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Annapurna - I think so, I wear P0 and 25 short pants in J.Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yay! The sweater dress I was eyeing in black made a brief appearance and has shipped already. This was a first for shipping the same day of the order for me.
