  1. The shipping appears to actually be free on any sale purchase -- I bought something for $63 that got free shipping.

Why doesn't J Crew have shipping promos as good as Madewell's? I have been finding myself gravitating towards them more and more recently, and not having to buy $175 to get free shipping is definitely part of the reason.

  2. Yay, I didn't even look at JC I've been waiting for a promo, and they added lots of things. And yes there appears to be no minimum for FS (which is typical for Madewell promos :) This is great too because you can go back and check for restocks throughout the promo.

  3. Yes! I ordered the Mini Mail Bag in villa blue and the Silk Picket-Stripe Tee in navy/red, both marked down + promo. It'll be *fun* policing both JCrew and Madewell sites this weekend, if I can manage it! :)

  4. Meh. Just can't warm up to Madewell. Not sure why. Maybe because it looks to be poorly made. Is it?

    1. Definitely not. Their quality is better than J. Crew's, in my opinion. Several reviews on my blog here.

    2. I find Madewell items to be extremely well made...better than J. Crew in my opinion.

I think part of the issue is their website photos/styling...I find that the items rarely appeal to me at first glance, but once I see them on someone IRL I love them. If you see something on the website that looks promising do a google image search for it and see if you can find a review or IRL photo.

    4. ITA about Madewell being better quality than J.Crew. Their t-shirts for example are thicker and don't develop holes. Their blazers are also excellent quality.

  5. I agree with Madewell being generally of better quality than J. Crew. I have the high riser jeans, which I love and are so flattering, while I've never found JC jeans to fit well at all. My cashmere from MW looks flawless after many wears, while JC's starts to look old quickly. I'm also a huge fan of their dresses. Recently I got the Spring Sonnet Dress in the nautical stripe (like a dream), the Drawstring Tee Dress in black (still available in stripe), and the Streetview Shirtdress, all of which I've worn and loved multiple times already and are currently on sale plus the extra % off. Be warned though, most MW dresses are quite short, but so am I so I love them.

Trying to hold back from the sale but I'm having a hard time!
