EXTRA 30% Off Sale Items {in stores}

A big "thanks!" to Courtney (in this post), who shared the following news: stores are offering an 30% off sale. However, this does make any and all purchases final sale.

JCAs, you might want to call your local store beforehand and confirm they are running this sale. (For reference, I called two of my usual go-to locations and they are both running this offer. They were both under the impression that this promo is nation wide. But you never know with J.Crew sometimes.) I also asked about price adjustments (because I purchased a few items this weekend!) and was told no (that only full priced items can get price adjustments). Yet, it doesn't hurt to double check with your local store. :)

Will you be checking out the Sale section at your local brick & mortar (B&M) store? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. Great news! But oh crap, just bought some stuff yesterday.

  2. Which store? I just called the Tampa store and the pencil skirt I've been looking for is still 34.99?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Do you think they would do a price adjustment on the 3 skirts and top that I purchased this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Please give us an online code!! I'm nowhere near a b&m.

    ReplyDelete
  5. oh man, i seriously just bought something last night!

  6. Other JCA's can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they'll do PA's on sale merch.

    1. yeah, i've always thought it was just on full price items... but people are always trying to get around the rules. i guess if you whine enough, you can get your way. :P

    2. If the item is on sale online, they won't do a WWFIFY. I have also heard of ppl having sale merch found and, specifically, personal shoppers looking for sale items. That has not been my experience. I've been told searches are on fp only.

      Delete
    3. official return policy is PA's are allowable 7 days after purchase and only when an item is marked from full price to sale (first cut). Promos are never retroactive, as stated in the fine print every time, and therefore can never be "adjusted" onto previous purchases. hope that helps.

  7. My SAs were iffy on this and it sounded like it was up to the manager to have the extra 30 or not.

  8. I just called and my store is doing the sale but NOT price adjustments!!! That's only for items that go from full price to sale...what?!?!

    1. from the jcrew website:
      "price adjustment:

J.Crew gladly honors a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the retail purchase or mail order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments."

  9. I will check out my local B&M tomorrow, they said that new arrivals would be in then. I am going to call them today to verify about the 30% off and ask about a price adjustment on a pair of Cece ballet flats that I purchased on sale last week for $69.99. 30% off would be a wonderful discount.

  10. You ladies rock! I just did a store search (through a store associate) for the Tillary in collegiate green, and got one for $48 shipped (they charged the $8.95 shipping, but I'm not complaining!). Never would have known about the extra 30% if not for you guys...

  11. thanks - just flew over to the store by my office after my lunch meeting (seriously, why hold a meeting a lunch time?!) --- it was ok -- i managed to get 5 items -- a lot were stuff that's been sitting there for awhile though.

  12. I hope this is ok to ask here, but does anybody know what the in store price of the leather tillary tote is? And in the event someone has seen one, would you be so kind to email me? I am newish to J Crew and have no idea how to locate items. bankygirl (at) gmail (dot) com

  13. I bought the anchors aweigh top for $46 and the gondola skirt for $35. The Tampa store and a variety of sizes in both items. I have wanted both since they rolled out, but I am glad I waited!

There are a few cute dresses and skirts in the new items, but I see a lot of the same recycling too.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That should read "had a variety" of sizes...

  15. 45th and Madison in NYC had a bunch of the linen attache dresses for $35 (49.99-30%). Mostly in the orange color but some in the teal. Also tons of the cha cha dresses in the orange color for $105 (149.99-30%). Also many lucille eyelet dresses in white, a few in purple for 89.99-30%.

Do you think they're getting the picture that orange is not a very universally flattering color?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Definitely agree about orange not being suitable for everyone. I fear that bright purple, neon pink, electric blue, and modern red might also be on the way out after this season. One gets tired of bright colors after a while.

  16. Always nice to have an extra % off. Hopefully they'll extend it to online, as well.

I have the Promo-priced items lists for both the women and men posted on my blog. The stores usually have the same items on promo as the website, and they are eligible for the extra % off, too. :)

  18. Just returned from my two stores. I returned 4 items I bought on sale on Saturday for an additional 30% netting $61.50. I also returned two items from previous sales equaling $138.98 and bought three items (one full price) totaling $111.48. I saved $89.00 from all the returning and rebuying. I snagged the stripe ballet flats for $34.99. I don't know how much they were originally, but I know I wouldn't have paided the regular price since they are strictly a nice sunny weather shoe. My stores still had alot of sale items, but I've bought all wanted out of the selection. Also they were stocking new things. More anchors, red, white things and I saw the golden burgandy (?) no. 2 pencil skirt. There is also a Tippi sweater in that color. I might buy one of them later on. I just want to wear my summer clothes! If we ever get summer.....

  20. Straycat: So you brought in your previously purchased items and they let you return and buy back? Just curious because I bought a ton of stuff over the weekend and haven't had a chance to wear any of it yet. It would be a savings of over $100! Just wish they'd do price adjustments on sale items.

  21. I'm not going to bother going to the B&M unless I happen to be in the neighborhood. I have a problem with final sale...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks! I stopped by after lunch and returned/repurchased the pencil skirts I puchased over the weekend. I ended up with 5 skirts for $130. Picked up the Seville printed espadrilles for$42. The printed silk scarves were only$10.50 after discount.

  24. Argh. Just spent $$ on the weekend... can't be bothered to go all the way to the B&M and argue with someone over the extra %. My consolation is that I got the education discount on my purchase, which they won't add on to the 30%-extra items, so I guess I only missed out on an extra 15%. I wish JCrew were more flexible about price adjustments - like BR/Gap group, where they have no problem with repurchases.

  26. shopalot (and everyone else)....yes, I bought some sale items on Saturday and today learned of the additional 30% off. I went at opening to one store and found two of the items and then asked the SA to call the other store and ask about the other ones. Which they had and they put on hold for me. I also found the striped flats and the safari cat capris for really cheap. I had no problem with final sale because they were items I already had tried on and or purchased. The SA's at my stores are quite accustomed to the whole buy, return, repurchase game and are very nice about and never even blink and never argue or anything. They were happy to call the other store and search for sale items for me. The SA's at the two stores I visit are all super nice and helpful. My stores are very close to my home and so it's not really a problem for me to stop by....I was doing other errands in the area anyway.

  31. Leah--I doubt there are any left where I got mine (if they had more than one), because the SA that rang it up for me seemed dumbfounded that it was on sale for so little (she double checked the price before ringing up the sale). I would call your nearest store (or the friendliest one you know) and ask if they have one, then politely ask (if they don't) if they can look it up to see who might have one--my stores are usually awesome about doing it (I provide the item # and color name). Didn’t get the price, but a good amount of the Café capri in safari cat, zip front t-shirt dress, and Garment-dyed drawstring shirtdress in the sale section.

I did score a couple pairs of the waverly chino for $14 each including discount. I have no clue how to style these, and have to roll them up cause the length..but I need casual pants for work right now when we do “spring” cleaning on Fridays. If you like this pant, this is a fantastic price.
