J.Crew of Seasons Past: {a look in the closet}

It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".

This post features the Tropical Doll Dress with a stunning all-over aquatic scene. It is such a fun print that is perfect for that Summer wedding or party at the beach.

What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?

  1. for those who are looking for past season pieces, there is a brand new without tags oxford jacket in red flame size 10 listed on ebay (not by me). It doesn't appear listed as "oxford" but you will find it as blazer or jacket.

    1. I have the oxford jacket in liberty blue. It's so pretty! I wish J.Crew would make more beautiful, unique items like this.

  2. The style of that dress wouldn't suit my body shape, but the print is absolutely beautiful.

  3. Man, I loved this dress style. I don't have this one, but the library print, the brown taffeta with linen trim, and several others made it home with me. I actually just got the brown with trim one on eBay last week! I have to size up to an 8 for it to fit because the chest area is teensy but oh, how I love it! I wish I could get my hands on this particular one!

  4. That was a beautifully made summer dress. The weight of the fabric, the pattern and style and the way it moved was perfect. Sadly, J Crew did not make the dress in tall sizes and in spite of how lovely it was, I could not get beyond the above the knee length flaring out. It looks beautiful on the model.

  5. I have this one! The size I have is a touch too big, so I was planning on taking it in through the bust. :) But I am nursing right now, so maybe I can wear it sooner rather than later and tailor it to fit next summer.

    It is a beautiful dress and sometimes you can find it on ebay for a really good bin price. (That's how I got it last year!)

    Nobelle--I put the listing over on the reviews page. No one had bought it at 7 pm, so I figured maybe folks weren't looking at this post. :) That price is a good one for such a wonderful jacket.
