"Thanks!" to many of you, including cheri, who let us know about the following promotion.

Madewell is offering customers to take an extra 30% off sale with promo code AHHH. The offer expires January 20, 2015. The fine print includes:

Offer valid in the U.S., Canada and Japan only. Terms of offer are subject to change. Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged
Love this promotion! Madewell tends to have the best accessories and bags. The following are some of my picks...
 Zip Pouch
(item 02559, $26.50) now $24.50
Nightglen Plaid Scarf (item B2387; $58.00)
now $44.00
The Quilted Transport Tote
(item B6839, $228.00) now $159.99

I am curious if brick and mortar stores are offering 30% off or 40% off sale. If you happen to know, please share!

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion at Madewell? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. I did pick up another pair of boy jeans (rivet & thread) and another sweatshirt (leaf set). Madewell is great for stylish and casual. As always, LOVE the free ship.

  2. The slub v-neck pocket tee is one of my all time favorite tees. All colors are on sale and with the extra 30 and free shipping, this is a great deal.

Also picked up a couple of the darling "neat flask"s. I surprise myself how often a flask comes in handy!

On the JC end, I have cut back drastically for lack of interest in 2014, but I did pick up some cashmere scarves (JC definitely still has the best colors around), the schoolboy blazer in thistle (which I have not stalked but seemed to be sold out whenever I checked), and caught the jacquard skirt in gilded floral and the collection daisy jacquard dress in my sizes, both of which I have not seen in my size before.

    1. I think that shawl cardigan looks great on you. If it were on sale, I'd be tempted.

  4. Just stopped in at my local store and sure enough they are running an additional 40% off sale. Might be worth shopping in store rather than online.

    1. I wonder if it's all the stores doing 40 percent off? I've sadly found that my local store in towson, maryland, often sticks by the 30 percent and rarely goes up to the 40 percent, and they're touch and go about honoring the 40 percent off when that's the online sale (this happened during the last 40 percent off promo). grumble.

  5. Word of warning... I think the Nightglen scarf is the same one (in a different color) that Gigi reviewed here and it has built-in holes.

    1. I know that Gigi gave it a sideways thumb, but I'm here to defend the scarf. I'll admit that when I first tried it on in the store, I almost took it up to the register to tell them that it was defective. Whew! As Gigi said, the colors are really pretty, and the fringe gives it a nice, casual look. The holes actually help to lighten up the weight of the scarf. I tried another, "hole-less" scarf on during the same visit, and by the time I got it wrapped around my neck, it was really bulky. This scarf hangs really nicely and is the perfect thickness. I say go for it!

    2. I ordered this one but didn't get it yet. I have one from last year with the intentional holes and I really like it because it's less bulky and less hot. Hope this one is similar. I admit it's a weird concept, though!

    3. I'm actually intrigued by this concept. I frequently get overheated wearing a scarf, but love them. It's sold out unfortunately.

  6. I'd bite if it weren't FS and/or if the things I know will fit actually had my sizes left (looking at you Mira pump and Skinny Skinny crop jeans!). It's a good promo though and I hope people are able to get some goodies!

  7. There's a couple things I have my eyes on and I'm mad at myself for not looking for them in-store when I was there only a week ago when sale was an extra 40% off... Grrr! Not sure if I feel like driving back out, especially if sale is now only an extra 30% off.
