Madewell's The Getting Warmer Event: 30% Off Sunny Day Styles

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know the following news from this morning.

Madewell is offering customers to take an extra 30% off select styles with promo code SUMMER.  The offer expires June 15, 2015. The fine print includes:
Offer valid on the purchase of select items in Madewell stores and at madewell.com from June 11, 2015, 12:01am ET through June 15, 2015, 11:59pm ET. In-store discount as advertised. Online discount valid on items marked “30% off with code SUMMER.” Offer not valid on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. In-store discount automatically taken at the register. To redeem online, enter code SUMMER in the promo code box at checkout. Offer valid in the U.S. only. Terms of offer are subject to change.
This promotion is being offered at both B&M stores and online. (B&M stores were running an additional 20% off sale last weekend and I have a feeling they still are.)

Did you check Madewell out today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  1. Nothing for me. I guess I'm in the minority, but I've actually been less enamored with Madewell lately.

  2. Maryeb, I am with you and agree with your other comment. I find Madewell is even less desirable than J Crew this year and I have some beautiful items from previous years. I like feminine things, not frilly per se, just beautiful prints, colors with a flattering fit in good fabrics. Those things I am willing to pay full price for. Sorry but I don't think that is too much to ask.

  3. I also haven't loved Madewell as much lately. I did get the Siteseer knotted slide sandal in black during the last sale (they are on sale again now). IRL pic on my Instagram. I also have the Skinny Ankle-Sip Cargos (now final sale for $29.99) and Stonespan Ring (also final sale).

  4. Me too! Not a Madewell fan of late. I lusted after a lot of stuff at Madewell in its early days. Over the past couple of years the designs/colors have been so BLAH/DREARY! And the quality, especially the shoes, is tanking. Madewell used to be so high-end in appearance. Now it's just another fast-fashion store.

The head of design at Madewell has replaced Tom Mora. Ugh! I was hopeful for J.Crew's turnaround until I read that piece of news.

  5. Interesting, I am not Madewell fun either and agree with the comments above. Have their sale increased simply due to migrating JCrew customers, because JC deteriorated so badly? Or is this based on customers new to JCrew family?
Last thing I want is JCrew becoming a clone of Madewell. Oh well, we shall see.

  6. I thought I was the only one who didn't care for Madewell. It's just not my vibe, not my aesthetic whatsoever. I looked at their new arrivals last night and wasn't impressed with anything. I guess I'll just continue to buy classic J Crew from ThredUp & eBay!

  7. Madewell was knocking it out of the park when Somsack's first releases came out. I don't know they're doing right now. I looked at their SUMMER 30% off offerings and only a few choice things. There are a lot of sad, wanna-be festival t-shirts (looking at you, anthem tee).

There are a number of items in silk = higher prices. However, Forever 21 sells the same cuts at 1/3 the prices in synthetics and some cottons. F21 is easily accessible in-person at over 600 F21 vs a less accessible Madewell under 300 stores.
