JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I'm styling the stretch silk ruffle blouse in navy and tortoise cluster necklace with a vegan leather skirt on the blog. Really love this blouse. It runs slightly large, and I nabbed it in both colors.

  2. I hated on the kick flare cropped style... until I bought a pair of the Teddie pants in black. I wore them yesterday with a pair of black suede lace-up flats & it was (in my oh-so-humble opinion) SO CUTE. I finally figured out what shoe to wear with this silhouette, hooray hooray. Let's hope both these styles stick around for a bit.

    1. That does sound cute, @Taylor! I've avoided cropped flares for the same reason. Thanks for the styling idea.
With cold weather coming, though, cute flats won't cut it. I'm not sure cropped flares work with boots, but I haven't tried it.

    2. @maryeb - I can't remember which site I saw it on (Gap or LOFT, maybe) but they had the crop kick flare styled with ankle booties & it looked really cute. I haven't tried it myself yet.

    3. I don't think I'll ever come around. Not only are they ugly to me, but they look like the type of trend you'll look back in photos and go what was I thinking.

  3. I wear my cropped pants all winter long with nude knee high hose. Have some great flats with thick soles, tortoise or croc-like and the there is the timeless Belgian Loafer.

    1. I also wear my cropped pants all winter long at the office. I wear warm boots to work and then switch into my "day shoes" upon arrival.

    2. I also wear my cropped pants all winter long but only because J Crew rarely makes any full length pants any more!

    3. Unless I'm walking through snow, I've gotten used to exposed ankles.

    4. It's so hard to find full-length pants anymore that I too wear my cropped pants throughout winter because I really have no other choice! Fortunately a slim-leg crop looks really cute with booties. :)

  4. I mentioned earlier this week that the Free People 'Not Your Brother's' Utility jacket is one of my current favorites, and has been on sale at various retailers. Today on my blog I've shared one of the ways I've worn it, as well as an IRL pic. What I Wore. :)
