If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

    1. Still on the hunt for the perfect Topcoat in camel so I ordered the Petite Relaxed Topcoat in camel to try. They sold out in pxs hopefully the ps will not look big on me.

  2. Not a vent, but has anyone ordered the Gayle sweater from Nordstrom? They're using the model pics from the retail version, the fabric content matches the retail version, and the reviews are from last year. But Factory has a current knockoff, and it seems weird that they would revive the retail version just for Nordstrom, and since the full size run is available it doesn't seem like it's leftover stock from the original run. I wonder if we're going to see Factory items in Nordstrom with even less distinction than the current Mercantile offerings mixed in on the retail site right now. That would definitely get a "vent" from me.

  3. Of course what I want is excluded from the promo! Ready to buy a full price item, and it is a NO-GO for me!

  4. Vent! I saw my VIP promo with the title "25% off all new holiday everything" - eagerly clicked thinking it was holiday rollout or at least holiday early look. But no nothing new at all. Just the same stuff from november rollout that i already picked through at 30%. Bait and switch!

    1. Hi Niki - it is pretty lame to have things in the already-released catalog or right on the main page (like the red Scottie sequin tee shirt and tartan pouch) that are not yet available. We JCA's know to wait, but if a more casual JC shopper was looking and they didn't have it they'd probably just move on to another site and not come back.

    2. one instagrammer has the tartan vest...maybe you have to preorder with a VPS ? I always feel left out...way up here in Canada. no style guides for us....

    3. Hello unknown, yes you have to pre-order through a VPS or you can call CS if you have the item code (obtained thru' IG posts).

  5. Echoing others...VIP code and no new arrivals...and the fact that it isn't good on sale. Not cool.

    1. Yes would be much more tempting if sale was also 30% off. I also noticed that some new things were added to sale and are discounted less than 30% so they would be cheaper if they were still full price????

    2. I saw that too. So stupid! I'm so sick of the pricing games. Don't they want to sell clothes? Such nonsense.

    3. prices are way too high on sale page. pricing games just like factory. this can't last because very little will sell. I am sure they can look back and see how many items sell when they have a really good promo and when they do not!. this no extra % off sale is back firing on them like who thought this was a good idea?

  6. items that were included in the 40% off last week...are 25% off with current promo. I am no genius...but no thanks J Crew

  7. Not a vent, but noticed new models when perusing the site: https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens_category/shirtsandtops/casualshirts/everyday-chambray-shirt/G7529?color_name=madera-wash

I'd love it if they'd include someone under 5'4" for us short ladies!

    1. Glad you commented on this -- love the new size diversity -- agree, would love to see some height diversity too! (Would be great if they displayed petite sizing on various petite sized models as well!!)

    2. Yes, yes. Absolutely would be nice to see shorter women represented.

    3. Wow! There is a drop down under the picture ‘see on more body types’ with 3 options, I’ve never seen it before.

      Delete
    4. I don't see a drop down, just "shop the look".
      Sounds cool though, Natalya.

    5. I’ve got Safari browser on iPad and I see shop the look as well as See on more body types

    6. Thanks, Nataya. I couldn't see it in Firefox, switched to Chrome and there it is.

    7. I’m using Safari on a MacBook and I can’t see it. Sounds like a great idea, I hope they roll it out across the board.

    8. @shopgrrl, try downloading Chrome to your computer. It may be an issue of browser compatibility. Not all browser render web pages the same, so that is probably why I couldn't see this drop down in Firefox. That may be the case for you, too.

  8. Reversible-bow silk top...going back. too much going on. but it was really the fit...it was just bad. too long under the armpit..yet tight across the shoulder. I liked the cuffs but on reg size they are very long. I think they were meant to be ...but watch you don't get anything on them. The look on me was was not fashionable ..just looked the the blouse was not my size. the fabric feels very delicate...I would dry clean not hand wash. The feel of the fabric was kind of cheap..IMO

  9. Madewell insiders - Shop early access week before Black Friday. 25% off with exclusions. Check your local Madewell store if participating. This coming Sunday!

I have stuff in my cart..wonder if they’ll apply the discount through a phone order in the s. They never have my size at the store...

    2. JSR, its only in-store 9-11 am. I think they will order and ship to home if they don't have your size. They also have free goodies in store. I think this is a way to increase foot traffic to the mall, so might only work for in-store. I will have to set an alarm to get up that early :)

    3. IN the email it said cashmere, leather apparel, shearling jacket, & 3rd party stuff is excluded. I am surely going to be there for the jeans.

    4. Does anyone know if Madewell is currently offering a percentage off their sale items? Thanks!

    5. I’m definitely buying jeans on Sunday.

Not sure about any in-store promotions right now.

    6. I called a store this evening and the only promotion currently is an extra 50% off sale jewelry. I mentioned the Black Friday promo that they are doing on Sunday and she said they are going to be running that promo all week long. The Sunday morning thing is I guess just a nice event for Insiders and you get something for spending $150 or more.

    7. Good to know! Thanks Lauren. I’d prefer to go Sunday. You get first dibs on sizes, stock, and colors, and it’s less picked on. I wouldn’t shop on a Friday. I don’t do crowds....

    8. Thank you for finding out Lauren! I will also be there on Sunday. Their jeans are going to be the first to be picked on. :)

  10. I also posted this towards the end of the reviews post, but can we talk about the styling of the Madewell new arrivals? I feel like the vibe is "we got really high and pretended to do a Victoria's Secret catalog in the country". I'm taking off my chunky turtleneck to show you my velvet bralette in a field! I'm eating an apple with my abdomen showing! I'm wearing a heavy parka with a fur hood over my eyes but I'm still sexy because I'm wearing no pants! It's TERRIBLE.

    1. Alyssa, you are so funny! I completely agree! It was a little weird to say the least.

    2. Using underwear-clad models to sell parkas and sweaters smacks of desperation to me.

  11. Well thanks for all the input on the chandelier sweatshirt but the item sold overnight. Should have jumped on it. Maybe one day I’ll get my hands on one!

  12. Made some returns and quickly walked through the store. I saw the OTS top in Stewart plaid that I liked during NYFW. it's a silk poly blend. I don't think the style is for me. I wish they made it more like the funnel neck with the buttons on the shoulder. At least that might be a fun spin on the plaid (and easier to layer during winter!).

The only thing I'm really hoping to grab is the lamé skirt. I have a collection blazer from years ago that's a chunky black and white tweed with silver threads and they would look great together, very festive without being matchy matchy.

  13. Stopped in the store and tried on the pull on black pants with white stars...ok, but nothing earth shattering. Didn't see anything else I was interested in. I asked when the next rollout is and the CS said "sometime next week I guess"....really, you don't know??? GRRR. Then asked about a garment "maybe coming next week sometime" and they couldn't tell me if the store is getting it or not. Why do I bother asking?

    1. My SA told me the new rollout would be in store by 11/22. So maybe Tuesday online with Wednesday in store?

    2. I thought the same thing about those pants. Cute, but looked like they could be found anywhere so they were a pass for me.

  14. I ordered the tartan Pajama set during the 30%+10% off promo and they were back ordered to Nov 13. Now it's saying Nov 27 which is disappointing. I feel the cdn price of $124 (before promo) is pretty high and I'd rather get them sooner than later for the holiday season. They say online only which is surprising as the stores usually get them for the holidays.

    1. I ordered them as well! At this rate, I'll maybe get them in time for Christmas...

I also ordered the glitter tee - get this - in mid October. It still hasn't shipped. I saw it in store when I was there last weekend. Wth?

      Delete
    2. That's crazy! I thought they fulfilled online orders from stores in the US when needed. I wonder if that's changed with the new management.

      Delete
    3. It's possible. Originally it was backordered until sometime in November. Clearly it's out now. If it hasn't shipped by the end of the week, I'm going to email CS.

  15. Still no catalog has arrived at my door. Even if it is disappointing, would still like to have a copy...

    1. Mine usually comes right after the new roll out appears on-line. So I'm expecting to see it Monday or Tuesday next week. I think some of it has to do with your mail carrier. The carriers have a window in which they get to decide when to deliver bulk items like catalogues. So your copy may be sitting at your post office.
