"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Not a vent but new arrivals at Factory today. Again more I like there than retail. Like the Embroidered Chambray dress, embroidered knit tank dress and will try the ruffle shoulder dress. All cotton and easy to throw on with regular bra. This is what I am missing at retail. Also love printed caftan coverup, striped tassel tunic cover up and ikat drawstring pants. Have to make the return rounds on Friday after work and hoping to try these on in person. Will report back!

  2. Today I got both the puppies email (for an order from yesterday) AND a look what's in your shopping bag email, which I clicked because I thought I had deleted everything in my cart yesterday but apparently JC thinks I'm about to buy the blue Arizona birks. I hate birks - never wore them, never will, especially not plastic ones. I honestly don't know who JC thinks I am or what I buy, because that made no sense and nothing in my purchase history would suggest I am into plastic shoes.

    1. Totally agree about the Canadian experience. I had no idea where my package was and then there it was. Irritating to say the least.

    2. I miss the system that was in place prior to Borderfree. It seems that this system is even slower and less informative than Borderfree which was a weaker version of the original one. Many times it's close to two weeks from the date of the order to delivery and tracking is terrible.

  4. Big vent as somebody that often shops for past season JC - their website now directs sold-out items to a blank page. I used to be able to Google "JC + item number" and at least get to the item page to look at the description and reviews. Now it goes to that page for a split second before going blank. Boo!

    2. This happens to me all the time. I first noticed it about a month ago, but then it stopped. Hopefully it stops again.

    3. Happened to me too and I thought it was a glitch on my iPhone. I assume they don't want us looking up reviews?

  5. A zillion people looked at this item in the past hour!! Anyone seen this new addition?? So, who cares!? Is this meant to make me want to buy it more?

    1. Ha! I noticed that, too. Maybe it is to inspire a sense of urgency? Buy it now before someone beats you to it? ;)

    2. They also say how many put it in their bag in the last hour. Serves no purpose.

  6. I actually liked seeing that! No idea why, but I did. Maybe I'm slightly voyeuristic?
